- fauzlyi am from Singapore and i received a call yesterday during lunch from a lady named Tiffany. She claim that my ebay account was making unauthorize listing of items. Though she didnt asked for any password, she did mentioned that she will send an email to link to my ebay account to re-set my password. i checked the email and it was there. Legit or not? I am not sure but i am waiting for the mobile bill statement for next month becos of the long distance call.
Do ebay call people from outside the US?- Caller: Ebay
- Magnum MouseIt is an authentic eBay number. They called me this morning "pushing" for me to improve my sales. Considering I just had a PayPal issue yesterday, its no wonder they are trying to get my support in any way possible. No biggie!

- BetsyYeah, it is for real. I am a powerseller on ebay and they call me every so often to tell me about promotions, or new changes.
- Caller: ebay
- BriveraWith any call about your business you should be a little paranoid, especially with scammers now having the ability to spoof phone numbers. However, for me the call was harmless. The woman left me a message about the advantages that come with my ebay store.

- Big BryIt is legit expecially if you are a power seller and own a store. If you get a call from Ebay treet it like an email. ebay always calls or writes you by your personal name not by your handle or email. If you get a call or email from them and they dont know your name or call you by your full name it is a scam. When they call me from this number they know my name they never ask for passwords or any personal info, they always call to help me improve my store or tell me about special listing dates. I have benefited from these calls
- Caller: ebay
- SFThis was StubHub confirming tickets purchased. Seller had to FedEx tickets instead of Email. StubHub is owned by eBay.

- drew replies to Did My HomeworkI just missed a call from this number. I used the cell number they called to activate my account a few minutes ago, so I don't know who else from Salt Lake City would have called me within an hour of activating my eBay account. So, to everyone who thinks it's a scammer, and not to say that I can't call anyone I want using ebay's number as my outgoing caller id, I highly doubt it was anyone but eBay unless they JUST gave my cell number to someone else. Caller ID "spoofing" only costs me $3.99/year--I only use it for business purposes, not posing as someone else, but it wouldn't be hard for someone to pretend to be eBay.
- ???????I just got this missed call on my cell phone as well. I do not have an ebay account so am wondering why they would be calling me? I understand it could be a legit number but if I don't have an account or anything with EBAY and have not purchased anything in over 5 years from there, how would they have my current phone number and it being a cell at that since I have only had the cell for two years? Not saying it's not legit like I posted above but just is odd to me since there is no account with them.
- MCThis has been on my called id several times. I don't answer it and I don't know who they are. I signed up for the "Do Not Call List" for my cell phone, but they said it would take a month and it hasn't been a month yet. Hopefully, they will stop. For anyone out there who needs this number to stop marketing people from calling, here it is: 1-888-382-1222. Be sure to call from your cell phone.

- DustineBay calling me to notify about some new conditions being added to seller categories. The fellow who called mentioned/spelled my username, so I don't think it's a scam but I didn't listen to the entire message since I'd read about this news a few days ago.

- eBay Developer| 2 repliesI'm a member of eBay's developer program (I don't work for them but I make web apps that work with their API). I receive calls from this number regularly and it is usually regarding that but sometimes regarding my seller account. Virtually every phone call coming out of eBay will have this number show up on the caller id. It is legitimate.
But for those who want to believe this is a scam ... it is possible for anyone to spoof the number that comes up on the caller id. In fact this is such a problem that congress has just passed the "Truth in Caller ID Act of 2010" making it illegal to alter the number that appears on the caller id. Now if a scam artist wanted to be cleaver they'd call up random people in the US using this legitimate phone number as their fake outgoing number. eBay touts 80+ million eBay members so a reasonable guess is that about 1 in 4 phone numbers belong to an eBay account holder. Then when the victim calls eBay to ask if it was a scam or comes onto websites like these they get reassured that it wasn't (that is, after all, a legitimate number). The point I'm trying to make is don't believe any number you see. The person on the other end is probably trying to scam you regardless of what they say or who they claim to be. Sleep well.- Caller: eBay INC
- AlexIt's eBay. I was expecting a call from them and this is the number it came in on.

- SOS Tech Systems LLCIn my case it was legit - Trust and Saftey calling about my merchant account - they must have verified my company by the voicemail - I got an e-mail approving my merchant status 5 minutes later.

- Susan T.Someone from eBay called to tell me about the changes to eBay this summer. Told her I was busy and to email me. EBay doesn't have my home number so I am reporting this as ficticious at best and fraudulent at worse case. She was going to speak with me about my account. EBay is an internet based platform. I tried returning the call unsuccessfully and never received an email. I would suggest to any eBay caller to send you info by email so you don't fall for a scam and say too much over the phone. . . .
- Caller: ebay
- Susan T replies to eBay DeveloperSo you mean to tell me eBay is calling account holders about their seller account instead of via eBay message links?
- philippei received this call today in Belgium. The person who called himself brandon was asking if i put something for sale today, which was true anyway. So i think this is not a fraud.
- Tatdude806Sorry guys, hate to tell you this.... This is a legit number for eBay... Called their corporate offices and verified it... And they will call powersellers, and if there is a problem. But hey they make mistakes too...
