Either way you look at this phone call we have been getting. The fact remains phone call solicitations are bad news these days. As my Bank, my Police Dept, My Ebay legit messages puts it: you simply do not give information over the phone and a knock at your door unless you are 100% certain who they are and what do they want. When a person on the other end of the phone calls me and asked my name I know they do not have it (well that is good advice to assume). Should this be a legit call ebay should change there business model. We have all had messages from ebay stating not to give information except on the ebay webpage and you know that is legit.

eBay does call especially if you are a powerseller as I am. Most likely they just want to point out a promotion or service that they are trying to get you involved in to keep those listing and FVF's rolling in. I love it, Meg Whitman, after raping eBay sellers on an uphill fee graph, retires a billionaire and now she may become my Governor...    Gray Davis (electric scandals and corruption), The Terminator (arguably the worst "democrat hiding in republicans clothing" govermor and now Meg Whitman...   Cali is so screwed

I got a call, this was legit. She was telling me about summer updates and changes with regard to my account and new listing options.

It's not a scam, just a message for eBay sellers. I got a call and it was just an automated message updating me on stuff.

My wife fielded a call from 801-545-1800 on 6-21-10. The "eBay employee" said that since she had missed me she would send me a e-mail from Seller Development Team regarding some kind of "deal" for sellers. It has been two days and I have not seen an e-mail, either to my private e-mail address or in my eBay seller inbox. If this isn't a scam, why was there no follow-through?

It was real ebay number.  They needed to verify, I my seller info.  Totally legit!!

I got a called today from this # I did't answer since I didn't recognized it, and they left me a message saying that someone had an issue with his purchase since I'm a seller on ebay, I check my account and I didn't had anything about a complain, so I don't know what is goinging on,it is kind of suspesious because ebay never calls for this kind of things but by the look of this messages posted here since 2007, I don't think is a scam but be aware of calls that ask for information that may be use to defraud you.

Had a call from this number today asking for someone named Heidi. I told the caller that there was no one at this number by that name and she apologized and told me to have a good day. I didn't ask what company she was calling from and our conversation didn't last long enough for her to tell me.

Got the call and it was from ebay, Just told me they were discontinuing the adcommerce program. The other poster is correct. They have offices in Salt Lake City and call for problem, programs and promotions.
