Wrong - Ebay calls sellers to inform them of stupid things like how to increase your sales

This is NOT a valid eBay phone number. This number just called me today (801-545-1800). I did not answer the call, and the caller did not leave a messsage. I contacted eBay live chat and they confirmed that the number is not from eBay! Beware of Scams!

I just received a phone call from the number 1-801-545-1800. I did not answer the call because I did not recognize the number. I typed the number in a google search and got interesting results. I would like to know if this was a Legitimate call from eBay. The caller did not leave a message. It looks like many people get calls from this number, claiming they were calling from eBay.

I got a call from this number from Stubhub - legit call

Just got a call, didn't answer. and they did leave a message.  It is eBay,  They do call to let us know of updates in eBay also.  Was letting me something about uploading trackings for protection,  ect.  I have received several calls from eBay from this number.  They are just giving the sellers needed to know information.

I received a call this morning letting me know to add tracking to my shipments. The call mentioned that this would help the DSRs. I am not certain if this is new and they are trying to contact sellers, or because I recently got two where are my product questions. These were international shipments and had the tracking information already listed. At any rate they did not ask for a return call or any information. If it is a scam hard to imagine what they are trying to get.

I just received 5 calls from them this morning, no message each time.  I didn't even give them my cell phone number... I never give out my cell number.  How did they get my cell phone number?  Either way, I never answer if I don't know the number.  They can leave a message if they want to get a hold of me.

I just received a call from 801-545-1800 but i'm not a "power seller", yet :) I don't have my voice mail set up so the joke is on them. If they want to get a hold of me that bad, they'll inbox me. Ebay shouldn't be calling people up, because so many people are suspicious. They should inbox in a broadcast email about specials and promotions.

I just got a call from that number, and it is legitimate. I looked it up because I didn't recognize the number. The call was informing me that my account was suspended pending further identification verification. I then went to my account messages and saw two messages from eBay verifying this.

No Mark don't fall for it!!  I have gotten messages from the real eBay telling me about this scam!!!  They will NEVER ask for account identification verification!!!  SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!

Where are you getting the 'it's a scam' nonsense? They're not asking you for your password or anything else. My call was to make sure I responded to a case I had opened a few weeks before. It's a real eBay  number, as the eBay rep in the comments below confirms.

It is legit. I had a seller who charged me for overnight shipping a couple weeks ago (which I wanted) and then shipped the item media mail. Scammed me out of about $60. The call was from the ebay buyer protection people (who I filed a complaint with) to check on the status of my claim because I had settled it with the seller after contacting them.

I just got a call from the number: 801-545-1800 this morning.
I quickly googled  this number: 801-545-1800, lots people said this is not legit!!!!! Its a scam!But somebody said this number is legitimate, its the outgoing number that eBay uses for its Salt Lake City branch.

I contacted Ebay through "eBay Live Help Chart" to verify this number, Ebay assistant told me:"
This number is legit and we use this number."

Now I feel calm down a lot!

Just got a call from 801-545-1800 which I didn't answer because I get a lot of telemarkers wasting my time. They left a message though, and it seems to be legitimately from eBay.  I had opened up a dispute (on eBay)  and the voicemail was reminding me about the window of time left for me to respond.

Number ia not a scam.  I was chatting with Ebay rep online about a negative feedback i received.  Then in our chat he asked for my number to connect me to the right department.  This number showed up 801-545-1800.  Same guy I was chatting with online and already knew the problem,  I didnt have to tell him again what the problem was. So yes this number is from Ebay and it is not a Scam.

You people kill me talking about "fraud fraud fraud" when you don't know what the hell you are talking about.  This is a legitimate ebay number!  You have nothing to worry about.

Seems to be a legit phone call from ebay. They were informing me of the new duplicate item policy.

This is a Legitimate number from Ebay Seller Research Dept.  They call people that are ebay Sellers to ensure they are getting the best opportunity out there regarding their accounts or for most people their Ebay Stores.  THIS IS A LEGITIMATE NUMBER.  I talk to them several times a year for Store Changes and How-to's when their policies change.  Anyone that uses ebay frequently knows they have been changing everything lately.  This number is from a customer service call center.  Excellent help they provide everyone.

I've been selling on ebay for years... I just recieved my first call from this number. I did not answer but they left a message promoting selling tools available on ebay. They did not try to sell anything.

I just got a call from this number.  It is actually Ebay.  Not a scam.  Not fraud.  They called because I recently closed a case I was able to resolve with a seller, and they just wanted to let me know if I needed any additional help, they were there to assist me.  Didn't even request that I call them back unless I needed to.
