I wanted to add that you can check your preferences in eBay to not receive phone messages.  I think I will go back and do that.

That actually is not true, eBay does lots of outgoing calls. The number is eligimate, you can ask something about your account or request them to send you a message and it will appear in your My messages. The scammers cannot do that.

that is because they are calling from eBay call center and the reps do have access to the accounts and email information. That tells you that the call is legitimate

Why don't you idiots contact Ebay and find out from the source? How hard is it to just ask!!!

I'm also in the Powerseller program and get calls from this number at least once a month...
A message was left for me telling me about The holidays and how they will add "estimated arrival" dates for holiday shipping and a few other things...All the info she wanted to tell me about was left on my voicemail...It is a Legit call...I do get them frequently from the same number...

Im in canada and just received a call from the above number and they called back again 5 mins later , i still didnt answer it , so i called it back and it was a ebay customer service number .

i got a call from this number...i put my iphone for sale on ebay after 1hr i got this call ...the guy told me that he is calling from ebay..so he want to confirm that i put a add on ebay..i think its legit call not scam

It's not a scam, it's Ebay. If you are or were a power seller they call to give you updates, warnings and tips. They never ask you for your login info.

This is a legitimate call from eBay. I, probably like everyone else posting here, am a Powerseller. They call frequently (maybe once every two months) to let me know about promotions, how to increase sales, etc. I have been getting the calls for about 18 months. I also attended eBay on Location in Chicago where they discussed the calls.

This is LEGITIMATE.

It probably IS eBay. I sell on eBay alot and they call me every few months.

This is an internal number within ebay. I have a dispute with one of my buyers, and I just got a call about it from this number. It's legit.

This is NOT a scam!  It is a call from the security people at eBay.  I just spoke to them this morning because someone hacked my account and tried to buy a bunch of iPhones with my account.  They are from eBay.

That number is eBay. I work there.

It is a ligitimate number and is from ebay. I have sold on ebay for several years and I am in the whole with them about 4 grand due to a mess up on my end. It is ligit and they wanted to make sure I was going to pay my debt. Do not fear this number unless you just don't want to talk to ebays billing center.

Your a friggin liar. Cheack with ebay you idiot. Don't be bad mouthing something you haven't even done your home work on. If you HAD checked then you wouldn't be saying what your saying here but just the oposit. This goes for the rest of you clowns that do not check it out before slandering a good number.

Ebay will call you if you have it marked that its ok for them to contact you with promotions and such. Or they will call you anyway if you are way behind on a payment as I am.

The rest of you people wh just came on here to check out the number then don't listen to the other clowns talking bad about it. Contact ebay trust and safty and find out for yourself.
This guy may be disgruntled because he was cut off ebay or something. Check it out for yourself as it may be important that you contact them.

First line you say you got the call but did not answer and then you go on to tell us what all the guy said in acall you did not answer. Hmmmmmm....

just got this call telling me ebay  and seller advantages...could not tell me if he was from ebay..put me on hold and gave me ebay's address...could not answer my question "how do I know you are from ebay"  he said his name was Willliam..

Had missed call from this number, luckily checked on here instead of calling back so won't be answering if they call again, Thanks
PS if it is ebay they can contact me through my messages so why would they need to phone.

I just received a voice mail from ebay - I'm a powerseller and they were just leaving a message about strategy for the holday - I get a call from them about once every 3 months.
