- Caller: Ebay
- DennisI just received a call and did not answer. The call did not leave a message. I called the number and an automated message said that it was indeed ebay and that no further action was required unless I say something in My Ebay that said I needed to.
This will be my second month running an eBay store so I suspect it may have been because of that that I received the call.- Caller: ebay
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Cronicmastrb8trThey just called me and I had phone relations with them...lol
- Caller: Ebay
- Call type: Survey
- PorshaReceived call at 8:46 am today and did not answer, but they also did not leave a message, which means it was not that important and a sales call. Thank you for all of your posts, I know not to answer a call from this number.
- Samantha| 1 replyTo clear everything up, the number 801-545-1800 is a eBay Seller Alert Development Team. I would know because I am an agent. The calls are just informational calls and that doesn't mean we're asking for your information. If we ever ask a question during the call, it's to keep your engaged in the information so you know what we're trying to explain. We never try to ask for your personal information. The name, email, user id and phone number are all from your own personal eBay account. When we send an email with our information it goes to, not only your email address that we verify with you but to your eBay messages as well. If you don't feel comfortable taking the call, they will offer the email. You can say no to the email as well. It's not a big deal. We do not pressure you into anything. Like I said before, all we do is call with information on new updates or changes to the site. We could even be calling with best practices. Trust me on this because they have eBay clients come and train us on the things we call on. The call is not a scam nor is it to steal your personal information. If you don't want to take the call, then say no thank you and move on.
- Fireprincess02| 1 replyIt's NOT a scam. It's for eBay seller phone updates and promotions. You can disable it by...
Go to Seller Account.
Click Personal Information
Then on the left click Communication Preferences
At the very bottom, it says Promotions and Surveys. Click "Show".
The list will expand, and at the bottom it says Phone Updates and Promotions. UN-check that box, and the calls will stop.- Caller: eBay
- Ebay MemberThe number is from ebay sevice.
I was a ebay power seller until I Switched to Ebid due to all the ebay rules that alow buyers to steal from sellers, they purchase items then claim they never recieved it and ebay takes the money from the sellers paypal account and gives it back to the thief. Great business plan!
The call could be ebay looking for one of the thousands of missing items. - 801-545-1800my gosh are they annoying!

- EbayerI saw the call come in, waited for a message to record, but did not collect one. I called the number back and heard the Ebay OGM- it appears to be a valid Ebay contact.
- Caller: Ebay
- ADWThis is Ebay. I had a problem with some information on my half.com account. I didn't answer the phone because I didn't know who it was (and that's why I'm here). Then I saw the email saying "we tried to reach you...." It's legit.

- Nicki replies to RickWhy would they call you to say a fraud case had been resolved instead of just sending you an email???? And it is possible that if your computer was violated in some way, someone might know about your fraud case. But, if it really is resolved, why call, unless to gain your trust for the future.
And, to the others who like these calls, why would eBay want to become a telemarketer like so many annoyance calls. Do they think people like being called???
I got one call a few days ago and no message left. - KC replies to jimThis number is Ebay and when you call it it tells you they call to give information to members. There is no further action required if you receive a call from this number. For example they may call to give suggestions to their "Top Rated Sellers". I usually hang up on them even though I am such a seller.
- littleindianme801-545-1800 is a legitimate eBay phone number. I received a message from a lady saying I had a complaint from an eBay purchaser and I had 7 days to reply to the complaint. And it was correct, I did have a complaint from a buyer who did not receive their package. It was taking me awhile to find out what happened with the package and the buyer used the complaint option. It's all good now, but THIS IS REALLY eBay!

- wickitiwackI like mollies post she says they are illegitimate she just doesn't know how to spell.....so they have no parents to tell them not to call or talk on the phone.......apparently.........
- Caller: Ebay
- JoshIt's possible to fake caller ID information. The call I just got was just a harmless marketing call with tips and tricks for selling on ebay. I just started selling stuff in the last couple weeks.
BUT it could be possible that a scammer knows this is a "legit number" and is also making calls with this as their spoofed caller ID.
You can't just say someone calling from a specific number is OMG A SCAM!!1!. Listen to what they say and it will be obvious if they are legit or not. Don't give out information you don't need to give out and you will be fine.- Caller: eBay
