How many times is a firm like this allowed to call before it is legally classified as harassment? We are on the do not call list and I know the politicians made sure they exempted themselves from that. We have received multiple calls from this survey firm for days now, including three in the last 90 minutes.

Sorry Michael... I know these political calls are annoying but they are not illegal.  All political calls are exempt from the DNC list.  So they are allowed to call you.  If you want the calls to end, your best bet is to answer the phone and ask them to put you on their DNC list.  If they call you after that request, then they are in violation.  If you don't answer the phone and speak to them directly, you will continue to get these unsolicited political calls.  This is an election year, so it will not slow down until after November.

This is a right wing sponsored political survey that asks leading questions regarding Democrats in your state. If you're a Repub, it'll be a lovefest. If you're a Dem, you won't last for half the questions.

I'm not a homosexual pedophile, so I won't last for half of the questions.

The calls are being dialed by a company called: Opinionology (http://www.opinionology.com)
The company Opinionology is owned/operated by a company called: Survey Sampling International "SSI"
The company Survey Sampling International (SSI) is a member of: the Council of American Survey Research Organizations (www.casro.org)
It says so right on their website: http://www.opinionology.com/summaries/index/content/ask-to-take-a-survey.xml (check #4 Who is Opinionology?)
So supposedly they aren't doing anything wrong and aren't harrassing anyone according to this CASRO.org group, they're "complying with research industry standards, best practices and relevant laws" Their website also says "All CASRO members must adhere to the CASRO Code of Standards and Ethics, the enforceable standard for research businesses for more than 30 years."

CALL THEM AND LET THEM KNOW THAT AT LEAST ONE OF THEIR MEMBERS (SSI/Opinionology) ISN'T LIVING UP TO THAT CODE OF STANDARDS AND ETHICS!

I received a call from this number.  The may not be illegal to make a political call on the behalf of a politician but it is illegal to misrepresent themselves.  They said they were doing a survey on the behalf of my banking institution and so I said ok.  After a few questions I turn the table and asked them who are you, what is the name of your company and what is the number?  This caused them to become speechless and this lady pretended to look for a number and she never found it.  She put me on hold to get a "supervisor" and she pretended to look for a number and could not find one.  She said I don't have a number but we do have an email you can use to check them out.  I said to the lady, no I want a number.  She never found a phone number. I asked her you are calling on behalf of a company and you don't have a number.   I told her thank goodness for caller ID because I have your companies telephone number.  Now that I think about it, the call is out of Utah.  I will be contacting my bank and tell them these people are calling on the of my bank to get info regarding my visit.   I also will be calling my political affilation to inform them that someone maybe calling people on behalf of a political party or a candidate.

All I can say is be careful of the questions being asked and never give out person information if you don't know the caller.

    This is call phishing.

I get this call every so often.   I usually hang up, but one time I did answer and it was a political survey.   I have been thinking about this recently, and since I have a degree in statistics, I realized that it is in my best interest to participate.   If it is a national survey, they usually poll about 1200 people.   Local surveys are fewer.   My input is therefore a significant part of what the campaigns are using to decide where to spend their money and where to run ads.   Since I live in a battleground state, my input is even more significant.

I think I will answer next time.

I got a call from this number, but no one talked.
I'm poor, and I use prepaid cell phone just for emergency calls.
So please don't call my number, otherwise I loose my minutes
    (so my money) for nothing.
Hope you'll understand, and won't do this again.
    Thanks.

Received a call this morning at 10 a.m. Eastern - 10-20-12.  They hung up when answering machine came on.  I haven't done any business with Kinkos...  but if this IS a legitimate survey company, Kinko's should let you know when you place or pick up your order that you may get a call in the next 48 hours from an independent survey company they have hired.  Then you'll know it's okay to answer and Kinko's will get a lot more feedback through this process. Sounds like they are mostly getting hangups or answering machines right now.  If you order again from Kinko's, ASK at the time you order if you may be getting a phone call later...

Got a call from these guys today at dinner time. Asked them how they got my information- responded with "we get it from a database." Would not go into detail on how said database was formed and kept on getting "I don't know sir." I remained pleasant and asked to be removed from their list (now... to do this to the other 100 companies that call me) I tried calling them back and found that the company is called Opinionology. They have a website and say they are a survey company. I am incredibly fed up with all of these calls and am considering my options for removing my phone line. It is just insane how many calls I get.
