I got a call today from 954 634-7937  from a man claiming to be from GE Capital Bank by the name of David Williams.  He wanted me to load $250 on a green dot walmart pak card and leave it there for 2 hours to prove that I was worthy of a $2500 loan.  DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM, normal loan companies do not require these types of actions!!!!!!!!!!!

Spoke to "Edward Foster" Funding Manager/Sr. Supervisor at GE Capital Bank/GE Capital Retail Bank.  Was advised that I was approved for ten thousand dollars ($10,000) with a 13.99% interest rate.  $465/mo. for 24 months repayment for $11,160 total repayment amount.  "Edward Foster" said he would call me back after he received the application results.  In less than 10 minutes "Edward Foster" called back, but this time sounded slightly different than the first "Edward Foster."  This time "Edward Foster" explained the details to me AGAIN as if scripted, but varying the details slightly.  "Edward Foster" said the call was being recorded to assure that I agreed with the terms of the agreement.  He advised that I could record the call also.  After I agreed to the repayment terms, "Edward Foster" told me I needed "insurance" and to quickly proceed to a 7/11, Kroger, CVS, Rite Aid, etc. to purchase a VISA debit card.  He repeatedly said to purchase the card "Pay Power" and said that he would remain on the line with me while I get the card.  He said once I purchased the card, I needed to deposit $940 onto the card.  When I told him that I was on a land line and I needed to go to the store he said he would call me on my cell phone.  I told him that I lived in the city and could not use my cell phone while driving.  He asked how long would it take me to get to the store.  I told him approximately 35 minutes.  He said that was too long and that I needed to "HURRY" to the store to purchase the card.  I told him that I have never had to provide any "insurance" for any loan that I had taken out before and he said that I was not authorizing anyone to use the card and that he would only be asking for the last 6 digits.  When I said this was a "SCAM" he got quiet and said that I shouldn't use that word over the phone especially while the call was recorded because it affected his company's BBB rating.  I told him that I would go get the card.  He said he would call me on my cell phone and to not ignore his call because there were many different cards at the store and he didn't want me to purchase the wrong one.  He repeated again to please "HURRY."

So, I hung up the phone and went online and learned that over 58 complaints have been filed against GE Capital Bank for the same scam.  When "Edward Foster" called back, I told him that I researched his company and that it was a scam.  He tried to assure me that it was not a scam.  After I told him about the complaints that I found on the BBB website he said, "I have all of your banking information.  Routing and Checking account numbers.  I am not a scammer, but if I were all of your account information I have it."  I told him that I did not give him the correct checking account information.  He then said, "you bank with the Credit Union and every dollar you have in your account will be gone.  So good luck!"  I told him that I did not have any money in my account.  He then said, "if you don't get the money that you have in that account before I do, it will be gone."  And terminated the call.

I have been receiving calls from a guy named Andy from GE Bank. He has called from several numbers from Florida and New York. It's the same thing. Approved for a loan I never applied for. First approved for 4k then in the next message it's for 6k! It just keeps going up with every phone call. Never give bank account info over the phone or buy prepaid cards to get a loan!

OK -it happened to me too- they scammed me and then tried to get to go make another cash security deposit. That is when I realized I had been had so  I ran to the bank and closed my account so they would not pull my money . They have my personal info. I called the green card  company to try and stop the transaction but the money has already gone to them. I have to call the police now to get my money back. These guys are good at what they do.

Got a call from 954-640-8074, offering me a $2000 loan with $275/month payments for 12 months.   CLEARLY an Indian person on the phone, and reading from a script... I needed to provide my bank account info, and they would take $275 from the account for 2 hours to secure the loan, then deposit the $2000....  I said I didn't have $275 in the account, and he said "can you borrow it from friends or family?"  I asked what company he was calling from, and he said "GE Capital Bank" and gave me the 954-640-8084 number... I told him I'd call back Thursday when I get paid, and he was very rushed to get off the phone.  When I called the number tonight, I got "magicjack.com", a phone "jump line" service.... Total scam!  I guess I'm closing my bank account tomorrow!

I had a guy call me today and tell me that I was approved for a $1000.00 loan and I needed to load $170.00 on a Vanilla Prepaid Card and he would be calling me back tomorrow morning @ 8:39 am EST ((exactly)), to get the account # from me so their loan administrators could verify that the money was there. The number he gave me for GE Capital was 407-506-0307 extension 1011.

They called me today and asked that I go to a 7-eleven to prove I had $200 for a $2,000 loan. I would be paying $185 a month for 12 months. I would get my $200 back to use with my loan, totaling $2,200. What I really don't like is how they had all the information they got. It's a good thing I used the account and routing number for a prepaid card and not my actual bank account information. I always do research on any company trying to get money out of me and I am glad I found this site. I am supposed to call back this afternoon when I am going to get my card to give them the money. I will try to get as much information as I can. Even if it's fake it still might help.

I got a call from Jordan cambell saying is been aproved for a loan from ge capitol retail bank and to load money in the amount of $246 on a pay pak from walgreens to leave it there for 45 min so they could verify that i had the money to pay back the loan. It didn't seem right to me so I googled it and found this site I didn't give then any money but they now have my info. They number they called me from was 3475473466. Now when I call it says the magicjack customer you called is not available. But during the same week I keep getting a call saying I took out a internet loan and owe ge capitol bank like 900 dollars and that call comes from a 904 number and when I call it back it also tells me the same thing and I have not ever taken out an internet loan so when I asked them to send me info on this loan they say they can't unless I set up settlement payyment and then if I do that they will send me all the info I need.
