- tom| 1 replyMy sister who has been married for over 20 years and obviously has a different last name from mine (!) Got a call from Tanny Bolden, a supposed "court investigator" regarding a "restraining order litigation"...Left a case number (?) ect....and the above number. I havent even spoken to my sister in 10 years so I found this funny. Two friends of mine are court investigators, and they told me this is total BS. No one from Florida would call someone in NJ about a restraining order that has never been served by a process server who has to physically hand papers to you ect..... After reading the above posts with the same MO, I am reassured of what a lame attempt this was. How they associated my sister with me is weird because my father and I have the same name and he is listed in the phone book, so they could have and by all logical reasoning should have called him...if they were looking for me. Go figure.

- . replies to tomThey aren't real "process servers", and there is no real "lawsuit". They are only pretending to be "process servers" to convince you there is some "lawsuit" to panic you into paying them off without any real proof of the alleged "debt".
The "restraining order" is a bunch of legal BS, used as an implied threat. Restraining orders are issued by courts to keep people FROM contacting others they have been harassing. They have no place in "debt collection". You fall for it, they know they really have a sucker.
MOST complaints against them report this same pattern: the "process server" call to some relative, often across the country, to get you to call back, even if you are easily findable, then when you do, they try to con you out of paying for some "debt" you don't owe, making up some multithousand dollar "balance", adding "attorney and court fees", then offering you a "discount" to a couple thousand.
Many people report the debt is entirely bogus, while some report it is similar to some old account. Many people also report they have found their credit report was recently pulled, which would allow these scammers to obtain information on old accounts to use in the scam.
Nice little con when you pull it off. Probably keeps up with their need for nose candy. They appear to be expanding, by adding additional names and numbers every few months. - Marie R| 1 replyI received this phone call asking for my daughter, she does not live with me, has not lived in my state for years and years. These people should be stopped. I have my phone numbers on the do not call list. Apparently that doesn't work either.
I didn't answer the phone because I do not answer private numbers or numbers that do not show up, I should have and told that guy off. He better not call here again.- Caller: 813-863-1962 United Press & Service Group

- Ms Texas| 1 replyThis caller has said all of the above- it is time the Attorney General and BBB stepped up to the table!
- Caller: 813-863-1962
- . replies to Ms TexasReportedly, the Texas Attorney General has received many complaints against the Corona Scam under its various names, like PMG and HGG.
As Texas has more stringent debt collection laws, including requirements for bonding of out of state collectors, contact the Texas Attorney General immediately. Odds are they aren't bonded in Texas.
Since they are pretending to be "process servers", they may also be violating Texas process server laws. - . replies to Marie RThey routinely call relatives, often with no recent connection to the victim, as part of this "process server"/"lawsuit" charade. There are many complaints they are pulling consumer credit reports to obtain information on old accounts they can pretend are owed to them.
Warn your daughter that it's a scam.
DNC or TCPA are the least of the laws they violate. They just plan on not being caught or prosecuted, by hiding behind over 30 names. - GT replies to Kat Adams| 2 repliesThis sounds exactly like the voice message left on my phone except it was an "investigator Tony Fields" some mumbo jumbo about me being named as a respondant in a court action. He gave a case #NEK-1115
and the above ph. no. also, something about a restraining order. I also had 24 hrs to respond. I never called, instead I googled the # and found this site! - ATOk! Everyone, I am so shocked right now. I just got a phone call from my mom who tells me she got a text message from my brother's x-wife's saying her new husband got a phone call on HIS work number looking for me and it was regarding a restraining order. WTF! I don't even know where that man works. I barely know his name and hair color. So I tried to call this number back, 813.863.1962, and all I got was a recording. So.. I think, i'll "google" this company and see whats up. Restraining order?!?! Not me. Now, I'm kinda freaked out right because I see this blog and can't believe what I'm reading. Is this for real??! Is this a scam?
- vesta| 1 replyMy dad who I never put as a contact, got a call from a Frank Robinson from 813-863-1962, said they are a mediator between me and credit one bank when i called him, i asked for a certified letter and he kept asking if i had a checking account. Said that I had to pay or they were going to send a supoena to appear in court. i asked where they were and he said in tampa, fl. Said its for a credit card i had in 2008. He kept threatening me and I got upset and hung up on him. It was very upsetting. I think he said the company was called Global something.

- Ed1980sdca replies to GT| 1 replyI just got a message form my landlord apparently this number called his house with the same threat of a "court action must appear" and to call back within 24 hours with a reference # of NEK-2619. Thank god for this forum or I would have called back.
- CVC| 1 replySAME AS EVERYONE ELSE. FIRST "RENE' PETERSON" CALLED FROM PRIVATE #, CENTNRAL LEGAL SERVICES. GAVE THIS NUMBER TO CALL BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE. GAVE ME A CASE #ASP6230. CALLED IT...I DON'T KNOW WHY. I KNEW IT WAS A SCAM. HE WAS RUDE & DISRESPECTFUL, WANTING TO VERIFY ALL MY INFO OVER THE PHONE. WHEN I REFUSED, HE SAID IT DIDN'T MATTER, AND STARTED RATTLING OFF WHAT INFO HE DID HAVE. GAVE ME 24-48 HRS TO CLEAR THIS DEBT (???). NO UNPAID DEBTS I TOLD HIM. HE SAID I WAS LYING & IF I DIDN'T GET THIS STRAIGHT, I'D BE GOING TO JAIL. WHAT??? ANOTHER SCAM!! THERE ARE SO MANY OF THEM OUT THERE.

- . replies to CVCThis is the Corona Scam, operating under over 30 names at last count.
Threatening to send you to jail if you don't pay him money you don't owe him labels this as an extortion racket.
Contact the Riverside office of the FBI. - . replies to vesta"i asked where they were and he said in tampa, fl."
May or may not be true. As this is a scam, they are attempting to hide their location.
If you review information from other complaints above, although there are a couple alleging addresses in Jacksonville FL, the complaint by Ellen also points to a connection with "AF Group": a scam based in Corona CA. Their tactics and names are consistent with other Corona Scam names. (In addition, early Corona Scam LLCs showed some connection to Florida registrations, so they may have once run this scam from that state.)
They are no "mediator". They are just starting with some excuse to claim they "aren't a debt collector", even though by law (FDCPA), anyone collecting an allegedly delinquent consumer debt originally owed to another is a "debt collector" subject to the provisions of FDCPA. Falsely claiming they aren't is deceptive, and attempting to collect a debt through deception is a violation of FDCPA.
No surprise they called your dad even though he was never any reference or contact on any of your legitimate accounts. Their typical tactics include first calling relatives found through skip-trace or search services, as part of implying you are about to be "sued". It's part of the act.
"Said that I had to pay or they were going to send a supoena to appear in court. "
Don't hold your breath waiting to be served this "subpoena". (If you were being sued, they would serve a summons, not a subpoena. In other complaints, they threaten to serve a "restraining order".)
This type of scam typically first pulls credit reports, looking for some old account to claim the victim "owes" them. Did you actually once have an account with Credit One Bank, or did they have some excuse why the "information" they had, although incomplete or erroneous, might be some old account?
Contact FTC. - clanbblt| 1 replyI received a garbled message from a Bianca Jefferson stating that a "complaint" had been filed against me and I had 24-48 hours to respond to a "restraining order" and for me to have my attorney call Ms. Johnson. Then she wished me good luck. It took me several times listening to the message to get this information and the phone number. I was never able to understand the "case" number and she never said my name. After I checked out the number here (and being a litigation paralegal for over 20 years), curiosity got the better of me so I called the number. I had to punch a bunch of random numbers to get a live person but finally did. I was never able to understand the man's name that answered and when I started asking questions, he started telling me that I must owe a lot of money since they only call people that "owe a lot of money". I told him that I worked for a law firm and asked him the name of his company and he said that it was a litigation company in Florida then hung up on me.
- Caller: United Service & Process Corp.
- . replies to clanbbltSince they claim to be a "litigation company in Florida", contact the Florida Attorney General to file a fraud complaint. The Florida AG has shut down several fake "litigation companies" operating out of the Jacksonville FL area over the last several years, such as Ellis Crosby and Bass Prelitigation Services. If one of them regrouped, maybe they need to be shut down again.
Also, contact the FTC, as they are investigating several of these fake "litigation" scams. - YvetteI reecived a call from a Torry Anderson- Special Investigator @ Central Legal Svcs(anyone ever heard of this company?) She left a case no. for me and said that there is a restraining order placed against me. I must respond within 24-48 hours or else further legal action will be sought against me. These people called my mother who lives in another state and left the message for her. Some people called me a couple of months ago leaving similar messages for me and one person had a thick Middle Eastern accent and the other sounded Latino and he referred to himself as "Officer Benson" and threatened to have me taken down to the police station for questioning. They started calling me again last week. WTH???? Who are the people and how can we stop them?

- mbandyMy son is serving in Afghanistan and my husband and I just received this same info "phone call." I am very happy to know this is a scam as it alerted me to contact the reverse look up phone numbers...can you believe this, they are now after our own American Service Men & Women!! Dirtbags...go to hell.
- aharperThis company left a message that there was a pending case against me, to call within 48 hours and left the case number - also they left messages the two prior days saying they were calling about my online application (I haven't applied for anything online). I called and asked a lot of questions, this was for something from 2005 they claim I still owe, but I paid it many years ago. He was saying things like it involved a restraining order, felony and misdemeanor charges, and they would sieze my bank accounts. I was a bill collector and worked for a finance company years ago, and this is definitely illegal, the manner in which they are representing themselves. They would not give an address or location so I could refer this to my attorney who will laugh at their tactics. The guy said I guess you can laugh in front of the judge, then and hung up on me. At first he said they were United Processing Corp, then he said they were Central Legal Services in Tampa, FL.
