The requirement to bring a valid credit card prompted me to do research on Global Holiday Travel.  Appreciate the foregoing thread of information.  I too - will pass on our "free" airline tickets.

Got the same birthday postcard, called the 877 547-7302 number, talked to a very nice lady who guaranteed it was legit. No cost, no hiden agenda etc. she said just for attending an "open house" for a travel agency called Traditions  travel,we would receive an 8 day cruise and 2 airline tickets.  I'm so glad I did some research before being totally scammed ! Googled Traditions travel in Newport BeAch, no such thing, then googled Vacation Tours U.S.A and found all these comments !  How can this company keep doing this !?!?   What a scam !

We received the exact same letter as Mid, Mi yesterday, i.e., 2 RT airline fare and 8day/7 night Carnival Cruise with outside cabin for two.  I called the number indicated and spoke with a very cordial representative named Helinia.  She said that all we had to do was attend a 90 minute presentation sponsored by Vacation Tours, and bring our driver's license, and a major credit card for identification. She also mentioned that our phone conversation was being recorded, and after we attended this presentation, she would appreciate our feedback. The site where this presentation is to be held is a very well known, very expensive, golf resort hotel. It all sounded legit, and yes, too good to be true.  I made the appointment for this afternoon, but something told me to do a little more research before we attended the presentation.  I received an "Invitation Confirmation" by e-mail, and a follow-up phone call from Amber this morning.  When I asked for the name of the company, and their website there was some hesitation before I was told that the company did not have one.  That peaked my suspicions, and I googled their phone number:1-877-313-3326.  After reading these messages, I called back and canceled our appointment for this afternoon.  I told them that if they wanted to know the reason for our cancelation, just goggle their phone number on-line.

I want to hear from anyone who actually attended this promotion.  So far all of you have cancelled.  I will be attending tomorrow, just to see what they have to offer.  I am the President of a large corporation, and am not usually scammed.  But if any of you have actually attended this, I would like to know.

They are in Indianapolis, too, under the name of Global Holiday Tours.  All appointments are within 2-week period, rush rush rush.  Sent a form to home address after months of repeated calls telling us we had "won" a cruise.  They that they are a company who books travel for others.  Very nasty reception when called to cancel and question their legitimacy.

I went to this presentation in Sarasota. It was a good presentation. They don't make you buy anything. Just don't be a sap. Just say "No thank you. Nope" And I got a cruise and airline certificate thingy. Filled it out and waiting for my tickets. Alot of terms and conditions... you just have to pay attention to what you are doing and you will get what you want. Cheers!

just got this birthday offer for free cruise and air line tickets. After reading all the posts above I will not make my scheduled appointment on Thursday. Would love a cruise, but this is a scam.

Hey. Larry back. Got my itinerary back from them. Going to the bahamas 8 days and 7 nights. Total cost out of pocket= $100 refundable deposits + $225.47 taxes and port fees. Going in July for our 23rd wedding anniversary. Thank you ITC!!!! Totally worth the 90 minutes.

This company is operating out of middle TN now under the name Simplicity Travel.  When I originally called I spoke with Amy and I couldn't agree on an appointment time without confirming with my wife. When I called back I spoke with Randy and he asked me the same "qualifying" questions.  Wished I had told them to check their first recording. Anyway when I asked to speak with Amy she, of course, was with another "client." but Randy was nice enough to give me her direct line to customer service 877-313-3326.  Search this number and see all the scam alerts on this one! The email confirmation was from VTU, which i suppose stands for Vacation Tours USA. Just called to cancel our appointment and when I asked where their company was located she cancelled it without any other questions.

We just attended the seminar to get the "free" 2-for-free cruise/airfare due to my husband's birthday. We were insulted beyond compare with the third agent. After the "gentleman" lower the fee for the second time, I spoke in German to my husband.(we are both of German heritage, but as American as 'apple-pie') The agent started  making very loud and rude comments about Germany, "Deutsch - Dutch",mentioning "heil Hitler" and Hogan's Heroes. My husband told the man he was way over the top. While we were waiting, I had been crochetting. When we were leaving, the agent mentioned I needed to crochet something for him; extra large for all bits of his body.

Simplicity Travel is a scam company.  They call people in violation of the Do-Not-Call lists and rip them off.

AVOID THEM.

My dad always taught us that you get nothin for nothin ! Glad I read all of this before wasting my time. Sounds too good to be true, even tho one person here did get his tickets etc., I'd rather book my cruises, and flights myself to save from the hassles of having the incorrct stuff ! How do you even know that what they send you is legit ??

My husband and I went to the presentation yesterday. It was what you would expect, but the people working there are shady as they come. It looked like they'd been picked up at the prison yard. The guy giving the presentation kept harping on time shares and how they aren't a timeshare co... When we got to the end of the presentation... There were just us and one other couple... They turned the music up loud and brought in people who worked there so we couldn't hear what they were saying to the other couple. The price for their "package" starts at $8995, but "just for us" they had a default pkg that someone stopped paying on for only $2994, but the other couple was never offered this discount. We got fed up and were ready to leave and the person we'd been dealing with said "here's what we're gonna do, we're gonna pretend like y'all bought the pkg and I'll announce it and everyone will clap so the other couple will think you bought it and maybe they'll buy it."!!!!! OMG... That was the end of it for us! This company is shady! The gifts are legit if you do everything just like they say and you only have like 2 options for dates. The airfare doesn't match up with the cruise dates so you can't use them together. You have to send in 2 $50 deposits before they send you the options for the. Dates you can choose. There is no phone number or email for the place you send it to, so I doubt you'd even get the dates... I bet they just keep your money. We're going to try to get the cruise bc we sat through that dumb presentation. They got mad when we said we wanted to think about it... They wanted us to shell out $9000 right there without ever even thinking about it! If the cruise works out, it'll be worth it, if not NO WAY! I'll keep posted on this board whether or not it works out!

I got a call from Simpilicity Travel informing me of the all expense paid airfare and 7 night cruise if we attend their 90 minute "information session". After seeing this site I called back the 1-888-886-3606 and cancealed and advised my number is listed on the National Do Not Call List and not to call me again.

WARNING,,,these are the same guys who got ran out of the state a few years back by the A.G.'s office,they were operating under the name Royal Palms at the time,look it up

My wife and I attended the Simplicity Travel pitch in Irving Texas and fell for it, hook-line-sinker. We shelled out $3600.00 on a credit card for a package that was already bought by somebody else who could no longer afford it. We got it for the amount left on the contract. When we returned home, I went to the website for www.tradewindsvacations.net for which they said they were a broker and would be the actual agency we would be working with.

As a professional in computer programming the site screamed fraud to me. There is little content and the content available on the site is simple fluff. I became suspicious and started googling them, finding a lot of negative feedback. I finally found my way here and read through the first few postings which was enough for me to log off and phone my credit card company. When I informed the agent that I suspected that I was the victim of fraud, she checked the credit card account and sure enough - the charge had been approved and was awaiting final transaction. She advised me to close the account and get new cards. Closing the account would negate the transaction and a new account number would keep them from using the credit card information to charge me again. We did just that.

Having a bit of time to reflect, there were red flags all over the place.

1. There was but one other couple at the session.

2. When checking in, the receptionist required two forms of identification. My wife told her that she had intended to bring our passports but had neglected to bring them - would something else do? The receptionist said that - oh no we can't use your passport - we need to see a credit card. My wife presented her debit card but the receptionist said - no it needs to be a major credit card, which we showed her. -Big red flag.

3. The presentation was unbelievably slick and entertaining.

4. The travel benefits offered were overly attractive, including the ability to allow family to use the package and the ability to will the package to a designee allowing its benefits to continue after death.

5. The definition of family above is so loosely defined that even friends would be able to use the service.

6. We were informed that it would take 7 to 14 days before we would receive our membership login information for www.tradewindsvacations.net.

7. The websites for both simplicity travel and tradewinds vacations end in .net instead of .com. .net is reserved for network services such as the people you get your Internet services from. .com is preferred for business use. -Big red flag.

8. Our "representative" made a show of placing "his" business card in our packet and informed us to contact him directly should we have any further questions. When I got home and looked through the packet, I found that the card was generic and had only the name "Simplicity Travel" with basic basic address, phone and Internet information - no representative's name.

9. The packet they provide appears very legitimate until you examine it. The content is 99% generic fluff.

I checked tradewindsvacations.com which has lots of content, appears to be a legitimate site but only offers traditional travel services - no memberships. They do not appear to be aligned with tradewindsvacations.net.

We did get the free cruise and airline ticket vouchers. I'm going to try and redeem them but all money transactions will be via money order or cashiers check. I'll let you all know what happens.

These people are incredibly slick, friendly and believable. Be extremely cautious when dealing with them.

I forgot to note: We received this offer as a birthday offer in the nail. The mailing appeared to be from Carnival who we have traveled with on several occasions.

Another red flag: I just put in bogus membership login information in the www.tradewindsvacations.net site and the site dumped me to an error page instead of a page handling bad login information. -Big red flag.
