Nashville, Tn...06-02-2012....Scam as far as I am concerned...sounds great/but anything to good to be true is normally not good. i found the people for the most pleasant, however one of the reps was RUDE as hell, I was the one in our party against it, my husband was falling for it, I said i just do not want to spend this kind of money now, etc....once the rep is taking us to the checkout area he looked over his shoulder and said to my husband, " I feel sorry for you"....What a jerk, I just was not feeling it. Went from 8995.00 to 1495.00...yeah right...He knew I was on to them. Our free gift of cruise and airfare went to a Android tablet to receive in 2 weeks, I told them no we were to get the trip, they said they had a glitch on the comp, and would correct soon, initialed our free paper and said we should get it in a couple of weeks. the only thing good out of this is we had dinner in the area which was great. Your so full of crap...you must be an employee. Nothing is ever free. If this was at all remotely legit, we would also be reading about some of the cruises that were taken...nothing, nada, none, zilch. All that is posted is negative reports on being scammers. There should always be good and bad....this is only BAD!

Must not be a well versed traveler. You just got free tickets for a cruise and free airfare why would you pick the Bahamas....you can get there next to nothing on a regular basis. Why not Hawaii or Alaska it's free.

Got the same Happy Birthday Card in the mail, Carnival, 8 Days/7 Night Cruise for 2 and bonus 2 round-trip airfares... number 1.866.778.3695 on the airfare info, 1.866.778.3695 on the Cruise info.  Called and spoke with Larry, said his call back was 1.877.313.3326.  Same info as everyone else documented.  I'm sure glad I did my research before I jumped into waisting 90 minutes of my life.  BTW: their paperwork (email) said they were Vacation Tours USA (vacationtoursusa.com), and Larry said the 90 min preso would be a no obligation presentation about the new tour reservation company in Lady Lakes Fla called CTA (Cruises, Tours, and Attractions).  Be Aware!!!!!

No Birthday connection, but got the calls and offers in May 2012 - free air, cruise, etc.  Went to the presentation in Indy, sat through 90 minutes of garbage, told them we weren't interested and asked for the free-ware.  They got snotty, gave us a form to fill out and send in within 21 days in order to redeem...BTW, gotta send a 75 bean "deposit" via certified mail to Millenium Travel & Promotions to redeem airfare (before even scheduling) and a 50 bean "deposit" for the cruise...Right!

Thanks to all who have posted.  they have set up here in Brentwood Tn.  i went to the address where i'm supposed to go tonight for the meeting.  not even a sign for the business. Looks like a scam on our hands.

My wife and I went to the Brentwood meeting last night.  It happened exactly like all the other people have posted.  To claim the "free" cruise, you must mail a $100 money order with you first 2 departure port choices.  They will then mail you a form where you put your 2 choices for the date of your travel (which must be 90 days out & 45 days apart).  Then you hope to get what you want.

You have to pay extra to travel from Jan-Aug.  You cannot travel 1 week before or 1 week after holidays.  This leaves you 2 weeks each in Sept, Oct, Nov, & Dec to travel.

Don't waste your time.  We are out $30 in babysitting money and 90 minutes of our lives.  We are cutting our losses.

Well folks they made it to Texas !  Last weekend we foolishly responded to the birthday letter, advertising Carnival cruise line.  Immediately they said we could just make it to their next presentation one hour from then.  The rep on the phone stated this is not a vacation club and the first words we heard at the presentation was that it is a vacation club.  That itself was the first red flag.  We sat through the presentation, knowing we weren't buying anything.  The first price out of the box was $8995.  There were actually 3 couples that bought the deal and got $1,000 off for being the first 3.  Or did they ?  Could have easily been a set up to try to convince everyone that it was for real.  By the end of the one on one conversations, the price had dropped JUST FOR US to $3995.  Odd things then started happening with the "manager" making all kinds of weird offers, like trading for a vehicle we had for sale. Crazy stuff!  The end result was we were told when we started to leave that all the "certificates" had been given away so they gave us a rain check for the cruise/airline certificates. Yea right ....  The manager actually gave us his cell phone number but repeated calls and texts have gone unanswered.   Now we have the original guy who scheduled the appointment for the presentation calling to ask why we didn't show up for it ?????  No question this is a major scam.  Sorry this is so wordy !  If anyone from anywhere hears about this great offer, DONT WASTE YOUR TIME.

Did you ever book the cruise?  We just sat through the presentation and although I think it was a sham, they didnt force us to buy it and still got the same roundtrip airfare and 8 day cruise everyone is mentioning.  I would just like to know if anyone has been successful in booking and going on the trip before we roll the dice and send in the $175 deposit to book the trip.

Received Happy Birthday with promise of two free airline tickets and two Carnival Cruise tickets good for 12 months if we attend a 90 minute presentation with NO obligations. I am going to cancell!

I was so naive to make an appointment for this Saturday.  So glad I read your comment.  Many people commented like me, - deciding to cancell - but I wanted to hear from someone who actually went thru with this to see what would happen.   Sorry for your waste of time, but thankful that you shared your experience so others like myself didn't fall for it.  Again, THANKS for the post!

If you DID get the free travel and airline tickets, did you use them and were they legitimate?  I've also gotten the B-day greetings, ..."you have won a free 7-day cruise with an outside cabin to any US port, plus free airline tickets."  But if you're careful not to buy into their program, no matter how hard they try to sell it to you, is it still worth the free travel tickets??  Or do they short change you on the so-called "free travel vouchers?"

I received a "Birthday" offer in the mail for a free 7-day Carnival Cruise and free airfair. It was postmarked Tampa, Florida, Permit #78. I was supposed to attend an information meeting on July 20,2012, in Rolling Meadows, IL where I would receive my travel vouchers.  

I decided to check this out before I attended, and found that the call back number was linked to several scams.
I cancelled my appointment.  I am glad I took the time to check this out.

Received a letter in the mail saying Congratulations you have been selected to receive* (Not sure what the * meant because it was not referenced in the letter.) an 8 day/7 night cruise for 2 with an outside cabin, leaving from any major port in the U.S. Call within 48 hours. You have been selected to receive* as a bonus, 2 round trip airfares leaving from or going to any major airport in the continental U.S.  My husband called the phone number 877-547-7302.  A pleasant saleswoman, Jullian, answered.  After she asked us some qualifying questions such as age, whether we were employed and if we made more than $50,000 she said we were in.  She said that Scenic Valley Travel in Des Moines wanted to give us this free trip just so we would use their travel agency and promote their company to our family and friends.  By the end of the conversation we had been upgraded to a free cruise on Norwegian Cruise Line.   The only thing we were suppose to have to pay for were the taxes, luggage fees, tips, etc. but everything else would be paid for. In order to get our tickets we needed to set up an appointment with Scenic Valley.  The meeting was suppose to be in the Hotel Fort Des Moines.  At the end of the conversation Jullian said to call 877-313-3326 if we had any questions.  I then started doing some internet searches.  No Scenic Valley Travel Agency in DSM. On the email confirmation there were the initials VTU so I started searching that and found this website and the referenced phone number.  I am so glad that I found this website.  Thank you!!  Now I won't have to waste a Saturday going to our meeting.

I am so glad that 1. I have a husband who is not as naive as me.  and 2. for all the responses about this scam on the computer.  Thank you for reporting, we will not be showing up to this "wonderful" presentation for all our "free" gifts promised.  
And the number told to call was 877, not 817.  I received a mailer that said we had won a week long cruise for 2 and 2 free airline tickets.  
Everything sounded too goo to be true, which I now see it is!  Glad to find out before showing up to waste 90 minutes of my time and be scammed.

I was sent a flyer in the mail offering the free 8 day 7 night cruise with two free airline tickets as a bonus. I figured this was too good to be true, but I thought I would give it a try anyway.The first # on the flyer was 1-877-547-7302. My husband called first since I was at work, and when they asked him if HE had a major credit card, he responded no. They told him he did not qualify without a major credit card. My husband told me since I did have a major credit card that I should call back. After all, the flyer was in my name. I called and spoke with a guy named "Steve". He asked me if I made over $45,000. When I said I made close to that amount he told me to just say yes anytime anyone asks since it isn't verified. He asked if I had a major credit card; that it couldn't be a bank card or a debit card.He gave me a new number of 1-877-313-3326 and told me to call this number from now on with any questions and ask for him specifically. To forget using the first number. He said he would send me a confirmation e-mail within the next half hour. To make sure I checked my spam folder. I assure you I checked both folders, and never received the confirmation e-mail. I was supposed to meet with him today supposedly @ the 6330 E. 75th Street Suite 136 Indianapolis, IN 46220. Apparently they also have another location in the Castleton area which is pretty lame since it's literally 5 minutes away from this 75th Street location. They told me that all I would have to do is sit through their 90 minute presentation, but then I'd get my free items. That it wasn't a time share or vacation club, but from the sounds of what everyone else is saying obviously they're trying to sell you into their travel business. I kept going back and forth on whether I wanted to attend, and finally took a look at this site reading everyone's complaints. I did go out to the BBB site for Indiana and found that they graded them with a D due to 12 complaints, and essentially them being so sketchy. I called them before my appointment @ 4 today (although I was told to get there 15 minutes early) and canceled. I requested to speak with Steve at his "personal #" and some girl named Kaylie answered. She asked if there was anything she could help me with, and I said no, just wanted to speak with Steve. She didn't even put me on hold, I didn't hear any typing if she was instant messaging him for an example....I didn't hear anyone else in her area. No back ground talking, no other voices at all. She then says to me about 45 seconds later that Steve was on another call. I told her I wanted to be removed from their lists, and not be called back with "opportunities" or offers at all. She asked if I had an appointment, I said yes. She asked me what city, I told her Indianapolis. (So obviously "STEVE" wasn't going to see me at my appointment since he's obviously NOT in Indianapolis.) Gave my last name and what time I was supposed to go. She then asked me if I wanted to reschedule. OBVIOUSLY NOT since I just asked her to remove us off their list. She didn't ask WHY I wanted to be removed, didn't apologize, didn't seemed concerned about a loss in business. I was ready to tell them that I looked them up on the BBB site, that I read about them on this site, and Kaylie could care less. So why would I want to waste 90 minutes at a sketchy company ( according to the BBB) where people who've attended have even reported it's bogus, to get vouchers for travel that I'm still paying $125 for? Or what about those reporting the limited availability of time to travel? Only a few weeks here and there in Sept or Oct? REALLY? I rather save my $125 and use it towards a legit vacation with my whole family. In today's economy, who has $125 to throw out the window? I sure don't!

My company is the Simplicity Travel Inc in Brewster, NY and we are the company with the A+ rating on the BBB listing - not the one out of Texas, Wisconsin, Mississippi and goodness where else they will show up next. We receive hundreds of phone calls from people who have received messages, invitations, promises of free trips and cruises. That is part of a vacation club - it has nothing to do with us. We are totally reputable and sell vacation packages at great prices - no club or investment and absolutely no connection to the ones who are soliciting.

Just got a phone call today from Keven at Simplicity Travel Indianapolis. We were told we had won a free 8 day trip same as all others in this thread. We set up for next Saturday but after checking them out on line I emailed them to cancel the appointment and remove us from their list.

My first clue was when they asked for my father in law first. I told them he no longer lived here. He passed away about 25 years ago so I doubt he filled out a card at the fair. They then asked for me.

My callers anme was Keven Bale and his return number was 979-633-4339. They were supposedly out of Texas but I haven't bothered to check if that is true.

Stay away folds. Save yourselves a lot of worry and frustration. Nothing is free.
