Attempted to obtain cc info. Did not identify nature of alleged debt.

After I asked who it was, the caller identified her company as Southwestern Credit. I assume it was a debt collection call.

This is a medical collection company, been dealing with them for a while. If you have had any medical in last 5 yrs that has gone to collections they will call to try to settle it.

Medicsl debt collection calling even though. I filed bankruptcy they were trying to collect on medical bill included in my bankruptcy.

Well known criminal debt scammers.  Trying to collect a debt that was discharged is against both the bankruptcy laws and the FDCPA.  You should sue them and get them to pay you instead.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Had a call today (3/30/17) from this number & no message was left. Yes, they are scammers/criminals as I have no bills past due so there is no reason for them to be calling my number!

This is Southwest Collection.  They DO NOT just collect medical but also for the NTTA.  So - if you owe tolls - that's why you're being called.   I assume they collect for any number of companies - but that's why they called my number.  Trying to collect on a car I haven't owned for 2 years.....good luck.

Yes, we already knew who it was.  I don't know who NTTA is, but if this is for tolls then they do not have to follow FDCPA collection laws.  Further, they can possibly turn your name into the DMV to have your license suspended.
