- No Market replies to selling sharesThere is not a market for worthless shares for a company that has yet to have any measurable success. If it took them nearly 10 years to bring Legends of Oz to the screen, there is no reason to think it won't take another 10 for a sequel. And I can't imagine any successful actor wanting to be a part of a sequel to a movie that was an utter flop. They will have to mine the basement for people to appear like they did in the various Box Office Production efforts.
- Lost In Oz replies to Lost lots of $| 1 replyhttp://www.investorclaims.com/Contingency-Fee-Basis.aspx
There are many Security Fraud attorneys that work on a contingency basis. This is just the first one I found on Google. If anyone is interested in seeing if we have a case or if can at least push them to declare the shares worthless based on possible litigation then lets select a "free" attorney and then each individually call with our various scenarios.
I guess if you're ready to just lose money every year in fees to Equity Trust while they continue to collect more money from other investors who invest in the "new" parts of the franchise then you have more money than I do.
I'm really shocked that no one wants to at least see what can be done and is going to sit and pay for years to come. - Lost lots of $ replies to Really?I am concerned that we would not win and would loose even more money. They took in $110 million and claim to have spent $70 million on this movie. That leaves $40 million. Where did that money go? According to Greg C. they will use it to make another movie, but who knows, maybe it is spent. I do not know and neither do you, unless you are working for them. They are the only ones who know the status of the $110 million. What I do know is that I am feeling really poor right now and do not want to lose any more money.
- Lost lots of $ replies to Lost In OzOk. I am willing to contact a "free" attorney to discuss the details of this investment to see if we have a case. Being that we all understood this was a "franchise" though and not just a single movie, does not bode well for us. Plus, I just checked the contract and it states that "managers will exercise total control…the managers of the company will control future management, as well as all major decisions of the company". I am not an attorney, but that sounds like they can do what they want. Does anyone disagree with that assessment?
I would like to have the shares devalued though, so we do not continue to pay the annual fees. I just think based on the above sentence in the contract, our chances are slim. But, who knows, it won't hurt to try. Can we all agree on which one to call? - gonewiththewind| 9 repliesthank you 800 notes---my group of friends invested in this movie heavily and kept saying --"you'll be sorry when we reap the benefits"-the writing was on the wall and research from the beginning and 800 notes kept me flipping houses instead of investing in oz.. my portfolio couldn't look better . i THANK 800 notes from the first blog and first warning posted--for my friends, i feel sorry because greed took over reality -- how did any of you expect to be paid anyway? live and learn and never invest more than you can afford to lose. i wish you all a speedy recovery. and to the producers, i would not feel comfortable in your shoes for one minute.
- Lost In Oz replies to gonewiththewind| 8 repliesYou're assuming that we all saw what was written years ago. I never saw this blog until after the fact. I did invest a smaller amount in another venture with the same people and was paid as promised. Why wouldn't I think this one would work too?
The investment had nothing to do with greed any more than flipping houses and sticking a big higher price tag on when you sell it does. A lot of us will not be able to live and learn because we're retirement age now and so that part is finished. Glad that you are happy that you're not or weren't involved. Have a nice life. - Curious replies to Lost In Oz| 6 repliesHi: I was curious which project with Alpine returned your money. I believe this is the first positive post I have read. Do you know who was in charge of that project? Was Greg involved? was it run by someone different than this group?
- Lost In Oz replies to Curious| 5 repliesIt was called "Family Film Fund". It was decided not to go on with the project the after one film. It too was a private stock but it paid out after 36 months as promised. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/the-gold-retrievers/
Yes, there is a lot of doom, gloom and I told you so. I guess we'll see what happens. No Greg was not involved and my contact was mostly with the Bridge Group. - Who Is replies to Lost In Oz| 1 replyWho is Noah Centineo? He is listed as one of the cast members of the film you provided a link for. Alpine. Noah Centineo. I am certain many people have that last name. But.....
Was this a Box Office Productions LLC film? Was your contact at the Bridge Group Mr. Douglas? - Just Curious replies to Lost In Oz| 2 replies1. How much did you invest in Family Film Fund?
2. How much did you receive back? (including your principle investment)?
3. How much was the total budget "Gold Retrievers" was made for?
4. How much did it generate in gross revenues (and from which markets)?
5. Why did they "decide not to go on with the project after (that) one film?" - The Wrap| 8 replies
- Wrap Indeed replies to The Wrap| 7 repliesJust read the article. Amazed at the comments from people that said that the people in question were good honest people with the best of intentions who made a good film and kept the investors informed. Never in my conversations was there a mention that they wanted me to invest in Alpine stock to make Oz and it would be a direct to DVD project. I kept being told that Toy Story and whatever other big animated films of the day were out there were their models and this would equal them. I hope this article reverberates around the industry, and leads to wider press and more investigations. I'd love to be able to post it to their Facebook page if only long enough for some of the naive people there to see it.
- Lost In Oz replies to Just Curious| 1 replyWow? Why? Are you writing a book? Anyhow, I think that's irrelevant with the exception to say that I had invested before and had been paid as agreed. I didn't follow it closely after I received a letter telling me that they weren't going to proceed but did follow it once the 3 years expired to make sure I received my principal and the interest agreed upon.
- Just Curious replies to Lost In OzThanks for your reply. No, I'm not writing a book -- just vaguely curious.
I gather they undertook an investment plan (involving "The Gold Retrievers" in some capacity?) -- but later changed their minds about its viability (?) -- and 3 years later returned their investors principle (plus interest).
I wasn't sure if you were (instead saying): they made a movie (which you'd invested in) that performed well-enough to generate a profit back to you (or even, for that matter, any return at all on the investment).
Thanks for the clarification. - i know replies to Who IsYou mean Noah Gregory Centineo? I think it's his son...keeping the family biz going, you know.
- Just Curious replies to Wrap Indeed| 6 repliesWhat's the word on the Merchandising/Soundtrack/Video Game/Virtual World revenues thus far?
Any substantial sums being generated in any of these markets?
Any reports on how these other sources of income are doing?
It appears to have made about 2.5 million in foreign box office so far. Will any of that (+ more anticipated) provide investors any relief? - danny replies to Cosmic Conniehey connie i know exactly who you are talking about !!!!!!!!
- No Relief replies to Just Curious| 5 repliesJust checked Amazon-the Legends of Oz soundtrack is currently # 31,818 in the albums list. That means they literally have sold maybe 2 copies during the time frame reported. One of the toy sets of characters was # 42,000+. That is worse. That means there will be no relief from sales of these things. Amazon lists the DVD being available in August. I would not count on it being a best seller. So, to respond to your question, there has not been enough revenue from all sources worldwide to even hope for a 10 cent check from them. They have our money in one form or another (stock purchases, LLC investments) and I am willing to bet they will not be issuing any payments to us investors. Just praying and hoping that the word is out and that their next venture does not yield investments.

- gonewiththewind replies to Lost In Ozps. SOMEBODY DID A CRAPPY JOB PROMOTING THIS MOVIE!
The writing was on the wall. It really was and Google is a wonderful tool for researching such people / investments.. i saw negative alpine / summertime/ Carrolls comments on the internet years ago including Rip-off report / 800 notes.
I also noticed they had trouble with the courts in several states with many complaints from the private sector. I mention this to other investors and took it as a warning.
And yes, i am glad i did.
i wish you the best recovery and hope you have a nice life also. God bless and better days ahead.
