- What is left?? replies to BPPlease elaborate. IF there is anything left, I am certain many would benefit from the information. I personally don't see how anything can be left if the movie barely made $25M from all sources domestically and internationally when the expense to make it exceeded twice that. (These figures are only meant to make a point and not be definitive).
- Whimsical replies to BP| 1 replyFirst, let's understand the basics of a LLC, which you belong to. You are a "passive" investor. Second, there is nothing within the ownership of the LLC, which was sold as IP, that is worth a penny. The film project imploded. The online games never produced anything and the merchandise is a fiasco. What exactly has a chance of earning any income? Lets just say that $100 came in. It would just go to Alpine/ Summertime's pocket. No funds will ever "trickle" down to investors. Your posts only displayed a blatant and brazen level of stupidity that exemplifies this entire fiasco. NUTZ.
- Lurker replies to Bp| 11 repliesBp - I appreciate any efforts you are doing behind the scenes , along with any others who are also working on this. I am curious why there has been no info provided by yourself or anyone as to what they are trying to do ? Why the delays and lack of news to the limited partners? I hope you are right and that there are things in the pipeline that are being worked on. I am curious if the people who got you into this investment, the fundraisers, are helping you and the others ?
However , I assume your K1 looked like mine - with the value of my holding marked down to $1 (not per share, $1 for my whole investment). This is info provided directly by the company's accounting firm. They - MGMT OF ECOZ - not some random blogger - is saying my investment is not worth anything! I wish you well in your behind the scenes endeavors and if you and any others can get something going , you would be candidates for turn around story of the year. - BP replies to Lurker| 10 repliesIf you are an investor you should have received a email update From Summetime / the Bridge group
at the beginning of september - BP replies to Whimsicalare you an investor?
- Exxonmobil replies to BP| 9 repliesSpeaking only for me I provided my email to the Bridge Group several times. I never did get anything other than a link to help me look at financial statements. I reviewed those statements. I remember seeing here somewhere someone wrote of seeing them and their eyes popped out of their head or some similar hyperbole. I have merely been a stockholder in the parent company..you know, the one that keeps changing its name. The stock at the time was being pitched because they were going to make millions from OZ. Technically, they did. But not in a way that would cause dividends to be paid or an IPO. So BP, please cut and paste here the email you received. You can delete the names of course. The information may give hope to someone.
- Standard replies to Exxonmobil| 1 replyI assume that the "financials" that they "show" are heavily doctored. It would seem impossible to properly document how $120M was spent,
- BP replies to Exxonmobil| 6 repliesSorry if youare not an investor in the llcs set up specifically for oz you are not entitled to the communications
- BP replies to StandardThey are not doctored. The money was spent.
- Shell replies to BP| 5 repliesYou have not provided anything meaningful since you started leaving messages in August. Not trying to be caustic, just stating that what you have written is vague and less than profound. Perhaps you could share something concrete that is beneficial.
- BP replies to Shell| 4 repliesif you are an investor read the updates ,otherwise its not youre business
- Beg to differ replies to BP| 3 repliesAnyone who has an investment with Alpine or a specific LLC is involved and included, or didn't you know that? Read the marketing materials from the stock offers, for example. You write like you are not very savvy. I believe by your posts here you are NOT an investor yourself.
- Bp replies to Beg to differ| 2 repliesyou have to be an investor in Dorothy of Oz LLC or Emerald City of Oz LLC to be involve not Alpine or any other
- Texaco replies to Bp| 1 replySO.... how much was RAISED and how much was spent? are there audited financials? I think we all know that all the money was "spent". But how was it spent? How did the principals pocket? Was the money spent wisely? How much money was siphoned off? Not a single part of this worked. It was failure across the board. You cannot make idiotic posts about being "involved" or knowing "inside" information or blustering up moronic statement that " all is not lost". It's just pure nonsense. The numbers do not lie. $120,000,000 is owed to investors. where in the hell is the money going to come from to pay everyone back? The merchandise? The film rights? The internet? where? The next movie?
I am just curious what kind of idiot you are. ALSO, everything these clowns said before taking everyone's money was a lie, so now what they say is the truth? The problem is that honesty NEVER existed. Never. - Another replies to TexacoMy guess is BP is well meaning and a fellow investor who is trying to make something happen to protect his/her own investment. It is just when you look at the sheer numbers, it is daunting and highly doubtful renewed interest in a dead project is going to bring in the revenue needed to help people get back something. My opinion is the LLC investors and stockholders need to move on. The internet is full of information regarding these entities and how films such as Black Honeymoon, Love is the Drug and now OZ have returned not one penny to the investors. You own stock? Forget about dividends. No profits equal no payouts.
- Passive Investor| 1 replyI discussed my options for write-off with my accountant.. He seemed to believe that as this was a passive investment, only via another passive investment can a write-off be utilized. For example, my wife and I would like to buy a home or condo in the Caribbean some day - for our own use and for rental outside of our own use. According to my accountant - and I am still not 100% on this - any monies that would clear as profit or income from this rental home are considered passive income against which the passive loss can be claimed. In other words, there appears to be a potential to realize actual income with either reduced or no tax via a passive deduction taken against it as a write-off. This would at least be a (fun) way to still benefit in some fashion from the dollars we put into the DOZ debacle. If anyone has direct experience with this, please share - I believe we all could use some positive direction - if it exists.
As a side note, when my wife and I watched the movie at the premier in LA, a couple from Texas sitting behind us commented at the films close "I sure hope these weren't $100,000 seats"... - Yes replies to Passive InvestorYour accountant is correct-a future gain in an investment that is a passive investment will go against the loss from Oz. Regarding the rental property, more information is needed I believe. I believe if you are active in doing the rentals and making the decisions, that investment becomes a Schedule E Real estate investment. Because of depreciation, seldom do you have a gain for years on that investment which is why most people invest in real estate. Ask your accountant so you can make the right decision for yourselves. Good luck with it. Some sunshine will go a long way to ease the sting of these people.
- What Happened???| 3 repliesI am unable to locate Alpine / Summertime online. The website seems to no longer exist. I haven't been able to reach anyone by phone either. Does anyone have any information on how to contact this company?
- Jk replies to What Happened???| 2 repliesReceived email from Bridge Group with update yesterday. Maybe there is still hope
- Wonder replies to JkWhat was the update? Any resuscitation of Oz? Any future projects or activities?
