The commonality is that the investors were contacted  via telemarketers.  Many of the investors got involved for no other reason than they answered the phone when it rang.   So, there is a good reason that this thread stays active. It certainly meets the definition of unknown callers.

Except for several things.  First, the movie was released 3 years ago, so this is not an ongoing scam.  Second, the posts all talking about how they didn't make any money about a movie from 3 years ago, so this is simply not ongoing.  Third coming here to complain gets you  nothing whereas making reports to places such as the4 SEC would get you somewhere, but no doubt no one has thought of that, fourth, anyone making a large investment should realize that they need to check things out (due diligence) and that they might end up losing their money since it in not guaranteed nor insured like a bank account.

Then you have the fact that this was a movie, and it should be common knowledge that movies tank all the time.  Movies that were supposed to be big hits from major studios and they flop.

37 wasted pages of people crying in their spilt milk crying on each other shoulders.  "It certainly meets the definition of unknown callers"  Obviously not since you have identified the people you did business with, and again have recourse against them

The movie was released last year.  2015.  Not three years ago.

If it brings comfort and information to others for some to write here, I am all for it.  This site is serving an invaluable  purpose and getting information out about something that began as a telemarketing call.

IMDB who I trust much more than you, has a date of 2013.  Upon looking into it a little further, the release date was May 9, 2014, and Amazon has the DVD release in December 2014 (it is currently selling for $5.00, so it must be a crappy movie).

If you want comfort join a support group.  There is no relevant information in these last several pages of posts about an ONGOING PHONE SCAM.

"This site is serving an invaluable  purpose"  Yes, this site is, this thread is not.

    8. Launch Call Center operations for the general solicitation of accredited investors under the recently enacted JOBS Act beginning with the J/V’s P&A fund. Through that P&A fund we will underwrite the four wall roll out of “Legends of OZ”, and it’s continued multi-media exploitation through TV, apps, etc.  Complete the Reg D 506c funding of SVE’s film “Three Dimensions of Jerusalem”. Going forward IVM and SVE take turns using the J/V accredited investor database to fund their films.

I believe that if you read this correctly, you will find that those embroiled in this investment are supporting an organization that is hoping to RAISE money to OPEN a CALL CENTER. Therefore, validity exists to stay informed and more importantly to warn others.

The reason there may be so many pages is because these individuals have spent the last 20 years ripping people off through cold call solicitation of investments and investment surveys. I feel that I speak for many that were foolish enough to get involved when I say that we hope others, especially those less fortunate do not get suckered in wit these slick willies.

The question I would need to ask you is why in the hell are you trolling a thread that has nothing to do with you at all and feeling the need to denigrate those that have a vested interest.

For many this is the only line of communication available to share information. It is also a valuable site to keep the public abreast of what is going on.

The point is that somehow $120,000,000 went missing. No one has ever seen the financials or knows how that money was spent. Therefore no one knows what is or isn't left in the fund.

We are at a point where the only "formal" communication is coming out of a postal drop in a low rent Mailbox business, which indicates that no business exists.

Furthermore, many investors are not out of the wood yet because they are still receiving invoices from Equity Trust because the worthless investment is valued at some arbitrary amount and it is either pay them or pay the IRS.

I thank God-and I do mean the Heavenly Father-that I have never gone out of my way either in life or on the internet-to add to the ugliness in the world.  I am blessed with a good life. I will never have to ask myself if I intentionally was mean or cruel to others.  Like many people when scammed-I learned and learned quickly.  Do have a good day Monte.

So you are saying they have been trying to collect money for this particular movie for 20 years?  Now as to taking on particular item out of context with the rest of the prospectus(?), but that isn't how I read it.  As to the TV ads and apps, etc, the movie flopped.  End of story.  Happens all the time.  Big studios spend millions and lose money on movies all the time.

    "
The point is that somehow $120,000,000 went missing. No one has ever seen the financials or knows how that money was spent. Therefore no one knows what is or isn't left in the fund."  That is what the legal system is for, that is what the SEC is for, but I would be willing to bet good money that no one here has availed themselves of that.

Now as to why I am here, that is none of your business.  I see this as one more investor thread (we have several here) that should be locked and purged of all this nonsense.  This is not your personal blog.   This is not a gossip web site.  If you need to cry on each others shoulders get together and form a support group.  Drink coffee, do the 12 step thing or whatever.

Did you recently lose your job as a Mall cop? We really appreciate you taking the time to patrol the various "threads" on this site.
If nothing shared here pertains to you then there is no reason to comment.
AND if you wish you to complain about people "crying" ask yourself why you are "crying" about conversations others are having that do not pertain to you.
It may be best to ask yourself some deep questions before blathering on about things you know nothing about.

what is your vested interested in this?
This thread includes several cases over an extended period in which individuals,   harassed by various entities using different names under the same umbrella, share their experience and frustration.

The ONLY people that would want this shut down are those that it directly affects negatively. Such as yourself and others

I think we all can see through this current ploy. Isn't if odd that suddenly out of nowhere a handful of zealot Crusaders are suddenly concerned about something that has no meaning to them.

This thread is alive because of people like you. Obviously, you are involved.
Therefore, we thank you for sharing, it shows that our posts are effective.

    REMINDER from 17 years ago.
On July 9, 1999, the State of California filed  a complaint against Teleshare, Inc., a California telecommunications company for which Messrs. Roland and Ryan Carroll served as directors, Alpine Pictures, Lord Protector, Cavalier Partners, Roland Carroll,

Ryan Carroll and Stewart Whipple (the president of Teleshare) alleging violations of the California Corporation Code and seeking a permanent injunction against the defendants

against further violations of the California Corporation Code; recission offers to certain purchasers of the Lord Protector and Cavalier Partners partnership interests; and payment of fees to offset the court administrative and investigative costs.

The defendants have filed a consent with the court for entry of a permanent injunction and the other requested relief without admitting or denying the allegations of the complaint.  The permanent injunction, if issued, would restrain Alpine Pictures, Inc., Lord Protector Partners, Cavalier Partners, Stewart Whipple, Roland Carroll and Ryan Carroll from

offering to sell, selling, or engaging in the business of selling any securities of any kind in violation of the qualification or exemption requirements of the California Corporations Code Section 251110.

In June, 1999, Alpine Pictures entered into a settlement agreement with the State of Illinois

agreeing to make a recission offer to three investors in regard to such investors’ purchase of securities of Alpine Pictures aggregating less then $10,000 which sales were made in reliance on certain exemptions from registration in Illinois prior to completion of the

    required filings thereto.

A Desist and Refrain Order for violations of the Corporations Code was issued by the California Department of Corporations on November 23rd, 2009.

An investor who has worked with Alpine Pictures in the past issued this report on Google Finance in October of last year:

“Well it seems that Alpine Pictures has burned so many bridges and

scammed so many people that now they have to change their name to

Summertime Entertainment. I used to work for the company and all they

talked about was how Dorothy of Oz would finally make people believe

they were a legitimate production company.”

“They have changed their  name once before to Box Office Productions [then to Box Office Productions II, again to Box Office Productions III, then to The Family Film Fund].  This a common practice for them. The way to see through this is, instead looking out for this

company. Look out for Ryan Carrol and Roland Carrol.  Anything

produced by these guys is pure garbage.”

Many other investors have advised newcomers to avoid investing in anything having to do with Carroll Brothers, you can read other investment scam reports related to Alpine Pictures by simply searching “Alpine Pictures Investment Scam”.

Interesting that you have so much insight on movie investments. I am left to assume that you were at some point "victimized" by a telemarketer or a "Cold-Call". Is that what brought you to this site? Curious about what motivated you to bother reading and commenting in a disparaging way. I would think that if you had any true interest you would be empathetic to telemarketing scams and not find folly in insults. How's that budding bromance with Monetmurro working out for you? Let me guess you live in South Florida.

Exactly what I was thinking.  We have seen it before.  This thread has provided much information and is now serving to warn other potential investors.  Googling these people we have been writing about often points people to this thread.  That is fantastic. Publicity for the web owner here and information for the new potential victims to use.

No I had a much higher paying job with more responsibilities than a "Mall Cop"  You must be thinking of that move with "Paul Blart" as the first two words.

As to commenting this is a public web site, not your own personal blog, which I already pointed out but you are obviously too dense to figure out what I meant.  If you want to control who posts what, then start your own little blog site for all the people that invested in this fiasco without checking it out and without knowing what they were getting into to because they were obviously greed people who thought they were going to end up millionaires.  so if you are upset over what I am saying, well (insert your own expletive here) bad.

As to blathering, you seem to have position tied up with no near competition.
