- Jason| 5 repliesAuto warranty scam. My advice is keep them on the line as long as possible...the more you waste their time, the less chance they have to move on to someone else and try it again.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Tracey replies to JasonJason, that is a very good idea, bug them like they do other people

They called saying they are from Vehicle service department. Asked how many miles my car. Clearly scripted and was incompetent with dialogue. I asked why she wants it. Say hold on, say she is with vehicle service department. I said what's that. Once again hold on, says vehicle service department based out of California. I say okay who told you to call me, say hold on.....okay..... and hangs up. Best part about it is when she introduced her self she gave her wrong name and quickly corrected it. Scam, but f*** it make them look dumb.- Caller: Vehicle Service Dept

Fact: The National Do Not Call list is NOT a call blocker!
The DNC list is a LIST, subscribed to / purchased by legitimate telemarketers, so they know who not to call. The FCC or FTC do not give or sell the list to unqualified recipients! Click "Tip" for a tip.TipThink about this, if you have signed up for the Do Not Call Registry:- The Registry effectively stops (almost) all calls from law-abiding, legitimate telemarketers.
- If you received a call from a "telemarketer", what does that tell you?
Does ANY law stop criminals from practicing their "trade"?
Fact: Telephone numbers on the Registry don’t expire. You do NOT have to re-register periodically.
Fact: Scammers and spammers ignore the DNC list.
Many use "war dialers" to quickly dial phone numbers. After all, phone numbers are just numbers, and are no secret! (Arabic numbers were invented about 500 AD, so even stupid scammers know about them by now).
Fact: The DNC list does not apply to NON-sales calls, such as political calls, charities, surveys, debt collectors and businesses with which you have done business with during the previous 18 months.
Fact: Spam callers can be blocked by getting a real call blocker.
Google (or your favorite search engine) is your friend.

Diverted by a service I subscribe to that intercepts robo-dialed calls (rhymes with SoNoHobo). I called back (*67) and got "This account number is not valid."

- DorseCalled again today at 11:17am. While still diverted by a service I subscribe to that intercepts robo-dialed calls (rhymes with SoNoHobo), I have blocked the number.

- Kev| 1 replyWhile not perfect, Apps that block scam calls (I use HiYa) work pretty well. Once enough people report a scammer, the number gets blocked on all other phones with the app. I was once one of the first people to get a scammer call, I reported it, and a few days later got a message that my report led to over 1200 blocked calls from that scammer. Pretty cool.
- Robfell2 replies to Annoying callsSame here - why is it major companies get sued for calling us after we say no once, but this f'n company can call over and over again - 3 times a week on a vehicle I don't even own, and yet they stay in business? Where's the law firm that wants to make millions suing them - sign me up!
- MarkAuto warranty call. Rude behavior.
- TeresaI received this call stating that she was with a Vehicle Service Department. Has my name but the wrong model of car. In trying to keep her on the line as long as possible, I asked her how she had my phone number (cell phone) and knew my name but did not have the correct information on what kind of car I had and that I had never owned the car she was asking about. She just said she was forwarded numbers from someone else and called on it. When I tried to get more information, she hung up on me. Of course, I have blocked this number but I know that I will continue to get calls on a car I have never owned as I have received calls on this particular car for well over a year or more. UGH!!!

- FRED replies to VernonI would like to drop them, their kids, and other family members right in the middle of ISIS and broadcast it live. Tell them this is the new sentencing and there are no longer (EVER) plea deals.
