If you were actually being served, you would not be called in advance because you could simply avoid the process server. If this scammer calls you again, demand they obey the law by mailing you proof of this debt. Phone calls, faxes, texts, and emails are not legitimate methods of debt validation. Do NOT pay them one cent without this physical proof that they are legally entitled to collect this debt.

I received a message that I will be served between 3-5 and if didn't appear will serve my work.  They also called my husband.  They left number 832-271-8214 to call back.  I called and received a voice mail saying reached office of leslie burks??.  I didn't leave any information.  I believe this is a scam.

Please note, this is a scam! A process server will NEVER call you. They just show up. These people threaten to show up to your home or place of employment, which is a violation of the FDCPA. They commit numerous other FDCPA (http://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/damages-fdcpa-violations.html) violations and you are entitled to sue them, at $1,000 for each violation.

They use lots of different numbers and lots of different names. One of these losers used the name Jack Smith (called from a blocked number but left 877-589-2645). The idiot called twice, looking for different people. Each time he stated he was from a different county in different states. Wow, he must have supersonic travel to get from one end of the country to another "between 3-5 pm" on the same day!

The greatest weapon a scammer has is the telephone. Take it away. Don't answer calls from unknown numbers. Don't agree to send ANY money - ever! If you already have, report the credit/debit card stolen. Report all harassment to the FTC (https://www.ftc.gov/about-ftc/bureaus-offices/bureau-consumer-protection), the  CFPB (before Republicans gut the agency, https://www.consumerfinance.gov/) or your state attorney general or consumer protection office (https://www.usa.gov/state-consumer).

    Good luck!

I recieved a phone call from a blocked number from someone claiming to be a "process server" when I asked what company she was representing she said it was "Citiserv" or "CitiServe". I asked her why her number was "unavailable" and she said she had gotten threats before. I then asked her for the mailing address for her company, she got snippy and hung up.

On April 12, 2017, I received a call that showed up as unknown number, didn't answer, but the message on my answering machine indicated his name was Joseph Bennett, a process server from  Citi Servant and that he served papers in Macomb County. He indicated that he was going to serve legal papers upon me the following day between 3:00 & 5:00 p.m. at either my place of employment or my home and if I didn't receive those papers at that time, I would be considered as avoiding service and the court proceedings would continue without me being present (he also said that if served at work, I would need a supervisor present to witness service and a photo I.D.). So glad I looked up this site to discover this is definately a SCAM!!

I received the same message from a women named Morgan Taylor. She gave me a case# CV1185263 and phone number to discuss my case 877-598-2261. I looked in my local courts and there is no cases pending against me so I believe this is a scammer trying to get money. I figured if I am really being sued I'll wait to be served and then take it to my lawyer. I just wish they would stop calling my and my husbands phones.

Same here. Said he was with a Company called Citiserv and that he was coming to my home between 1 and 3 today. I did verify my address though Probably not a good idea. I never confirmed that I was actually the person he was calling for or not. Not the same last name that is on my current drivers license either. He wouldn't tell me what company he was representing or anything if he were by chance a debt collector. What a crock!  Also, since he said it was a civil matter, I looked on casenet for my state and found nothing. If I was being served then a court date would be scheduled and it would be on there. It's not.

Received 2 calls from a restricted number, she said her name is Angela Walker and she is an individual process server with Aiken County, and that she had court documents she needed to serve me at my residence between 3and 5pm or my place of employment. She also stated that she would need two forms of identification and that if served at work, she would need a manager or a security supervisor sign as a witness. The next day the same person called again from a restricted number stating she is with CitiServe and gave me the same rundown. The she gave is 832-217-8214, and when you call the number a man answers the phone and says he is a mediation firm from Houston, Tx. Then he tells you he needs to go down to the attorneys office and get the hard copy. After he puts you on pause for 5 minutes, he then offers for you to pay a settlement amount over the phone.

Its crazy that people have so much time to think of scams.  My voicemail isnt evven verified with the person tbey were calling about but they left all this information about the same thing. They said they wouod come.to my job and house and would be final attempt. I was scammed years ago. I wont allow that again.

I received a near identical message this morning, except stating she's an individual process server with Riverside County, California. Wow, she sure does get around, doesn't she? She also left a number to call in the 832 area code, though different from the one you listed. How dumb do these crooks really think we are?

I got the same call yesterday and today from a Stacey Walker from Davis County, UT. I asked for the address of her company and she said "We are everywhere. I don't work in an office". Ugh!! I'm going to be served at home between 3-5. I won't be there.
