- S.C.| 1 replyIs this Company Ligit?? Just can't tell these day's Because of Online INTERNET SCAMMER'S
- Caller: Account-Directrecoveryservices
- Call type: Text message
- MikeHuntleton replies to S.C.This number is used by Squareup.com to text receipts from vendors who use Squareup for payment processing. If you got a text from Directrecoveryservices and it was a link to a Squareup receipt, but not from a payment you made, then just ignore it, as it was probably just a wrong number that was input in sending the text.
Now if you got a text that was not a Squareup receipt, but something else, I would say it was a spoofed call and most likely a debt scammer. Giving the details about the call would have been useful in giving you better answers in trying to help you. - Kate BunkelmanClaims I have double appointments. I don't have any appointments and they don't respond back. Or answer calls.

- James| 1 replyReceived SMS message from this number regarding my receipt from Maypop Coffee House. Never been there. Did not open Typical phishing tactic.
- BigA replies to James
Nope, not in this case. Someone simply entered the wrong phone number for the receipt.Quote:Typical phishing tactic. - post pending moderator approval
- BigA replies to MEAI have to wonder why you are posting about a text from that number in this number thread dedicated to calls and texts from 833-239-6744?
- MarianneReceived text from this number to view my receipt from Revival Temple Church. I do not have a receipt from this church .. DO NOT OPEN ! BLOCK AND DELETE

- Call type: Scam suspicion
- MikeHuntletonScammers always try to trick people by impersonating the real company policy/procedures. If it did not have (sqap.pt) as the beginning of the link, then it is a scammer.
- Steph replies to MEVgot same message a few minutes ago. any update on it your way? then wanted my credit card to charge a $1 to reship....
- Chloe replies to MEVI just received the same exact message. The link was to a philopharm.net (some numbers and letters after) which was suspicious to me so I didn’t open it, but I’ve recently ordered things for Christmas so I’m also concerned ha… I’ll most likely just contact USPS
- Nimrod| 1 replyUnless you have recently purchased goods or services from a vendor that used Square to process your payment you should forward the unwanted spam/scam text to 7726 (SPAM) and let your phone service provider deal with it.
That number was set up by the phone companies to combat spam texts and they can shutdown offending phone numbers.
Never reply with "STOP", scammers will not honor the request (they have no honor to begin with) and it only verifies that they have texted to a valid number and a person who reads their texts. It will not STOP the texts and may actually make them more frequent.
Never click on a link in such a text as it may cause malware to be inserted on your phone, and even if it does not, just as with replying "STOP" the scammers will know they reached a valid number.
Also, report them here: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov - Ava| 1 replyI got a text from this number claiming to send me a Square Receipt from Howard's Appliance. Likely a scam.
- Caller: Scammer
- Call type: Text message
- BigA replies to AvaNope, actual receipt simply sent to the wrong phone number.
- BigA replies to NimrodBoth Mike and I have verified that this is indeed a receipt from Square. They are simply being sent to the wrong phone number for whatever reason. I doubt that 7726 will block those texts since they come from a valid company.
- SharonI keep getting text from this number and one similar that wants me to give money to my political party. I get about 30 to 40 text a day. I just delete them because I believe it is a lie. They try to guilt me into giving money to different political party members that are being voted into the senate or that are needing help to keep their post. Asking me for three dollars, five, or whatever I can afford. Most numbers start with 833 prefixes. This has been going on for at least a year. My phone is covered in text until I get time to delete them, and I have sometimes not seen important text due to them being relentless with their harassment. I have never sent them money by phone or return their
text but it will not stop.- Caller: Different people under my political party litcal
