- Chelle replies to Protect yourself.Hi! I tried that when I called last week. She said she couldn't look up my account without last 4 of S.S#. I explained that I don't give out S.S# to companies/people I don't know. She got snotty with me saying, " well then, I can't disclose any of the info to you because you won't verify my info so that I can know that I'm speaking to correct person. My question...is it actually legal for a company-any company-to verify identity over the phone with last 4 digits of a persons S.S#?

- AngelaAn Asian lady had the last four numbers of my SS and told me a Bank of America account was in my name from 1991-2005. She said I owe $14,000.00 and that her phone call "revokes" the statute of limitations. I have been with a different bank since 1987. She also said they have been "hunting" me over 5 different addresses. I haven't lived in that many since I moved out of my parent's house after high school. I called her a liar and hung up, never heard back again!

- ACalling for last few weeks same recorded message. They have a complaint in their office and I need to contact them or my representative. Finally called them back and a guy with middle eastern accent answered, I asked why have they been calling my phone and he repeated the previous message and wanted me to verify my soc# told me you tell me what file before I verify anything and he replied I can not release any information until I verify my info. So I told him no way I have looked up information about and you are a scammer and I am recording this conversation. And btw what is your address so I can send local authorities to visit you and he hung up on me. They also called my wife's phone looking for me and left same message. So she called them he started yelling at my wife and hung up on her. Of course the same guy wouldn't answer again or so they say. Straight Scam Do Not Pay ! Do Not give any of your info do not verify anything!!!!!!. They also use the name Melisa Townsend in their recordings Scam!!!!

- JPThis number called my 75 year old mom on both her cell and landline threatening legal action. They claimed to be a “recovery” company trying to collect a debt and that a company has “filed a complaint” with their office. It’s a total scam but it scared my mom terribly. Call your local sheriffs department and file a complaint with the phone number listed. I did.

- AI have had numerous messages from them. Today a Melissa Thompson called me. She left a threatening message. She was calling for someone with my previous name but middle initial was wrong. I called them back but never got the name of who they are. I told them they had the wrong person. They said they would eliminate the phone number off the file. Hopefully someone investigates and gets to the bottom of this.

- AnneI just got a message for my ex-husband (I've been divorced for over 20 years). I'm torn on whether to call them back and tell them I have nothing to do with him, or just let it go. I had a restraining order against him and I have not talked to him in over 20 years and I don't want my phone number connected to him in any way, shape or form!

- Haley SFirst I received a voicemail on my cell saying that the message was for my husband, and that it was in regards to a complaint filed in their office, and to call a different number to settle the matter out of court, and that if he didn't respond he would be considered non-compliant. So of course I call, and the woman says that it's to collect a debt but wouldn't answer my questions and was very vague about specifics so she transferred me to someone else who demanded payment over the phone and wanted credit card or other payment method information. Such a scam. Reported and blocked the number.
