I just received an identical text message, but it was in my ex husband's name. We have been divorced for 14 years!!!

This call is a scam, I don’t know how they have my contact but yea

I just got this text too. I too have no debt. I did not call it. The DEAD GIVEAWAY?????.... My 1st and last name were all in CAPS. That tells me that this is a "cut-n-paste" text. The fact that they have/found my number means they can learn about me whatever is publicly available from the internet.  ... Please, don't play into their game. By law, they must send you something by mail. Electronic communication, unless consensual, is never a legal form of providing you with notice of anything.

If they have your name then why do you think that they can only get information because they have your phone number?  They do not need to send a letter out prior to first contact.  They do now that they texted you.  Thanks to the previous criminal in the oval office debt collectors are now allowed to text and email you along with the phone calls.  Everything else you need to know has already been posted.

said that I had a case against me.  They had my social and date of birth.  Asked me if I was disputing the debt and I said I was.  Then she says that they will garnish my wages for up to 12,000.

They can't garnish your wages without taking you to court and that they'll never do since they'd have to prove you owe the debt.

my sister got exact same text for me. and of course i had to call the number. scary they had all my information and my wife’s info.

I've been getting that same call for over a year. And haven't used that name in over 12 years. And the dept they asked about it was paid before I bought my house or I would not have been able to get the home. I'm thinking of changing my number after 4yrs.

Don't bother changing your phone number. Even if you get away from this caller, you'll just end up with all the unwanted calls the previous owner of your "new" phone number tried to get away from!

Sending texts to all my family

Thomas Hughes keep sending me texts to call this number talking about he's in mediation it is imperative that he talks to me and then leaves me this number 8 88-333-5583, or there was a 803-274-5330 number attached to it it looks like it might be illegal Law Firm but I think it's a scam I'm about 100% sure
