Exact same voicemail. And like most of the messages I've read, I haven't had any delinquent accounts. I've received many calls from Hamlin Ross. Whenever they call I block their number, but I still get the voicemail. How many "last times" are they going to give me! Funny thing is, they've tried sending me correspondence and attempted to contact me, but I (we) only get this one last chance phone call. LOL!

Collectors can try to collect any debt regardless of age. Although states have different Statute of Limitations as far as suing you, or putting the debt in your credit. So you might owe it, but is too old for them to collect legally. Just ignore. As far as my state of Florida, they can't sue you after 5 years, but they can do everything possible as far as harassing you to get you to pay up. That's why they are being mean, because they know they can't do nothing legally. They just hope you pay up to get them of your back. This is the reason why it might not show up in your credit. Thank God for Call blocker!!!

You will need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation (by law they have to go back to the original creditor to prove you owe the debt), cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (this will be the best money that you have ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt, and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/
    http://www.consumeradvocates.org/find-an-atto ... tates_value=All

Everything else you need to know follows including at least two or more federal and state agencies where you should report their criminal activities.

Website gives no address at all:  https://hamlinrossassociates.com
Whois.com shows that the site has only been up since July 7, 2020 and is set to expire on that date next year.  They used a privacy service to conceal who they are and where they are located.

BBB gives them no rating with no complaints or reviews as of 9/18/20:  https://www.bbb.org/us/tx/houston/profile/col ... s-0915-90060583

According to Bizapedia there are no companies registered with that name in any state.

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.  If and when you get that letter you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.

First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file complaints with the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/#crnt&panel1-1

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

I received a call from 833-437-0484. They are very clever and scamming people do not waste your time returning their call. They gave me the usual mumbo jumbo, about having my social security number and I or my attorneys should call them back or they will take further action etc

Not "Hamlin the Ross" and not "Hamlin & Ross".  Correct name along with lots of other information has been posted in this thread.

    I am not Amanda
Been harassed for several years by some firm that won't ID themselves, only they are looking for "Amanda Wilson". Have gotten dozens of calls. When I try to talk to them, they hang up when I say I am not her. This last time, I managed to tell them to "Hire a private investigator" to find her, if indeed she exists at all. Perhaps the name is too common an English name, made to look legit? I have call-blocker, many calls don't come through, but the people looking for dear Amanda get around it somehow. Today, my caller ID said "Hamlin Ross Assoc" and it just rang and rang. They didn't leave a message. I looked up the firm, guess they are a collection firm. Oh, well, they can keep on calling, I am not answering if they don't have the balls to leave an actual message with an actual named person to call back. I don't need to know the issue of a deadbeat loan, that's private info. But THEY DON'T LISTEN to me when I say I'm not her. Hamlin is part of this debacle. I am tired of the harassment. May file a lawsuit if they don't cease and desist!!

These scammers called my husbands phone today looking for me, saying they had a debt on a washer and dryer I allegedly bought from Aaron's in 2011...I've had 2 washers and dryers my whole adult life; the first I received as a wedding gift from my parents in 1996, and the ones I currently own which I bought about 5 years ago from a couple who bought the house they were in but didnt want them. I've never bought anything from Aaron's. Anyway, the "lady" was so rude to my husband that he just hung up on her. She called back and left a message with the 833-437-0484 number ext#107. My suspicious nature led me to this page where I see these scammers use the same tired mo every time. Pathetic, trying to intimidate people into letting go of their money. I called back and left a message saying I knew they were a scam but if they felt the need to call back and argue with me, here's my number!  Not today, Satan!
