The number called and left a message with my mother saying to return his call:
    Peter Brown
    Arbitration Dept.
Gave a case number and said that it was a serious allegation that would require me to obtain a lawyer. I tried to returnt the call and it was just music playing. No one ever answered.

I got a call from this number some months ago. A lady called stating that she is calling from the arbitration Dept...I returned call inquiring what was the purpose for the call.I was informed on a payday Loan I had taken out in the year of 2010. I told her that I don't have any knowledge of this whatsoever. She asked if I am willing to have this matter resolved or should they have the client proceed. I responded stating send me to court. A month later I was served a summons at my POE. I had to repay the loan in full and was responsible for attorney fees and court cost as the arbitrator stated. This is no joke!! If you have an outstanding loan owed please repay it before it reaches to court because I had to pay 2500 dollars along with the 880.33 that the arbitrator had notified me that was owed.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

    Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010  FBI National Press Office
    (202) 324-3691

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.

I got a call from an agent at the place listed below, they told me that i owed $990 and the clients want to send me to court. I told them go ahead, however i checked with my lawyer and he said the fact that my ssn and name is on it then i may need to pay. I still hesitated on paying until another member of the family who supposedly taken out loan got a summons stating court date and indicating that she needs to get a attorney. When she went to court, she had to pay the amount owed and additional cost. Immediately i made a call back and have mine cleared up. Am glad i did because it would have been on my credit score and I would have to pay way more. According to the attorneys once your ssn is attached you are going to be held responsible.

    Dear shill:

    >>  According to the attorneys once your ssn is attached you are going to be held responsible.  <<

    That is incorrect.
AND the previous red stamps should have educated you in the dangers of shilling for this phone number.

    Lurkers:
A phone call, email or text message from a supposed debt collector is not legally sufficient evidence of debt.

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) includes statements such as this:

    * Every collector must send you a written “validation notice” telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don’t think you owe the money.   ["Written" means snailmailed - US Mail ... not emailed or texted]

    Source:
    https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection

Therefore, if that caller wants you to pay immediately, before you get the written validation notice via snailmail, or if the caller wants payment via Green Dot, MoneyGram, Western Union, prepaid gift card or other untraceable means, then the call is definitely not legitimate.

IF you wish to communicate with the supposed collector / creditor, visit  the following page, for example "Action Letters" to snailmail:
    http://www.consumerfinance.gov/blog/debtcollection/

If you KNOW you owe no money, or believe the call was from a fake debt collector, please take the time to read this:

OK, if you paid, tell us
The company's full, legal name; legal address; website; BBB page
Also, tell us in which state you live, so we can check the laws for that state.
In other words, answer Tamianth's questions ... or confirm you are a shill by avoiding those answers.

I know you're just shilling, but I'm going to post this again, anyway. (It kind of echoes what Slim posted above...I just don't want anyone to believe these silly shilly lines)

-Money sent by 'untraceable means' (cash cards, western union) is money that cannot be traced. I know that sounds obvious, but by the time you figure out you've been scammed, you have no way to figure out who collected that money. It's gone forever. You can't dispute it.

-Private Companies cannot issue arrest warrants.
Only those in the judicial system can issue warrants. They need to be petitioned by attorneys, and signed off by a judge.

-Debt is civil. not criminal. You cannot be arrested for ordinary debt in the United States and Canada. There are no debtors prisons here.

-If there were an arrest warrant with your name on it, your local courthouse would have it. Look up the number independently, and call them. People have been taking this advice for a long time. And guess what? No one has had a warrant issued. :)

-IF THERE WERE, however, no one will EVER call you to tell you they are coming to arrest you, or serve you papers. Process servers only get paid if they deliver your paperwork, and if you hide, they won't get paid, so, they won't tell you they're coming.

-ALSO, if there were "criminal" or "financial" proceedings against you, it's too late to pay anyone. The deed has been been done. The proverbial wheels are in motion.

-Threats of arrest and putting holds on SSN's, demanding attorney contact information and other things like that are common scare tactics used by "debt collectors" who are trying to collect on a  debt they cannot legally collect on. If they COULD legally collect on the debt, they wouldn't have to resort to scare tactics.

******AND IF YOU READ NOTHING ELSE....
-REAL debt collectors will send you (because they are required to, by law) a 'DEBT VALIDATION'. This is sent through the mail (USPS) with a stamp on it (e-mail, fax, texts, carrier pigeon, smoke signals...none of those count) and tell you when you incurred the debt, to whom you owe the original debt, and how to proceed if you don't think you owe the amount, or if your records reflect a different amount. Remember, this is REQUIRED BY LAW to be sent to you within 5 days from initial contact (on the company behalf) DEMAND THEY SEND YOU THIS!!! This will immediately weed out the scammers.

    http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection
This link takes you to the FTC's website and gives you all the rules debt collectors must follow. It also (at the bottom) provides links to where you can report any debt collector who isn't following the law.

I just received a call from global solutions 8442583994, stating I owed an online cash place from 2009. I told them I would make arrangements if I have some proof. They refused to give me ANY information. I also did not live at this address in 2009. Why wouldn't it be on my credit report?  Why would someone make payment arrangements on something or to someone without proof?
