- BigA replies to KellyIt is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and that they have the legal right to collect it. You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

© - Tired of scamsJust saw the number calling and knew better than to answer. No voicemail left. I know this is a scam, seem to be on rotation about every 3-4 months.
- RobynI just received a call, T-Mobile listed it as suspected spam, so I let it go to voice mail. Man on recording said they are calling regarding and official complaint and necessary paperwork will be filed with the county. Bunch of BS! Do not engage these fools. Hope they get caught with their BS scam.
- KelleyThey left a voicemail with the same m.o. :family member has a complaint and they need his whereabouts to file paperwork". Called them back and demanded they tell me who they were and how they knew my brother's name. He said so quickly "CSS we will take your number off point of contact" in a flash and hung up. Considering calling them a million times and harrassing them back!

- anonymousThis is a scam. Got same call as everyone else here. I owe no old debts. The courts know how to find you and would serve papers. The courts and attorney offices do NOT call around looking for people. If they cannot find you, they will publish formal summons/complaints in the local papers.
- ThomSame message as others: Looking for someone with a similar name, not me.
- Call type: Debt collector

- CWG40 replies to LindsayNothing will happen. This is a debt collection scam whereby the caller relies on threats. Not any real legal action. Ignore and block the calls.
- aptlySecond day in a row for calls from this number group...yesterday's call was 844-365-2864. No messages left, but did call a roommate/long time friend yesterday and left a garbled message looking for my husband. No debts owed and all past debts are paid off many years over. Scammers for sure. I receive these calls from various scammers at intervals throughout the year.
- M.my brother in law got a call from these people. he listened to the message and it was asking about me and my whereabouts if not they will file a complaint. I called them back just for giggles because I already know they are scammers. This guy answered the phone and said they are CFS or CCS I couldn't even understand what he said. I asked what this company does and he said they file claims against people who don't pay child support and write worthless checks. LOL. Well, I don't have kids and I don't write checks LOL. OMG. he asked for my brother in law's number and I said to him that I don't even know it to give to him, it s a wonder how they got it since we don't even have the same last name!!! this is ridiculous

- Upset New MomThis number called both my husband and I this morning just after 8AM saying that someone was filing charges against me in court and they needed the last four of my SSN. When I told them I was not about to give that to them but they could tell me what it was regarding the rude lady said well I need that in order to give you the information and told me good luck in court and they couldn't help me. THey also would not give any information as to who the company was or who they were calling for. They said they assist a lot of companies in the area. I told her to "f-off" and went off on her and she proceeded to tell my husband that he needed to "f*$%" me more as I sounded unhappy. I just had a baby three weeks ago and getting harassed by these idiots for a non-valid reason is not on my agenda right now that's for sure. This is totally a scam and these people need to get shut down!
