- Mrs CJust an FYI....If somebody is REALLY going to serve you papers, they won't warn you. Lol. And he says to call the 'File Department'. What is that? Yeah. Scam written all over it.

- CWG40This "Samantha Taylor" persona has a long history on 800notes of cold calling and pretending to be some sort of processes server. Unable to locate any "Irongate" group. I suspect they are located in upper New York state. Buffalo Bullies if you will.

- Angela replies to CEH| 3 repliesI received the EXACT, word for word voicemail this morning. Unknown number called me, and I let it go to voicemail. A woman named Alanna Vega, a private courier in the area and was going to be delivering documents to me that needed to be signed. If I had questions I could call 844-367-4902 if I wanted to contact the filing party. It's a scam.

- kHad the same call today and they called a niece. After 15 minutes on hold where I was told they were a "mediation" office and they couldn't send me anything and that I'm just repeating myself asking them to do something they can't do, I found out it was for a very old credit card from Celtic Bank that was sold to a debt collector and they're going to take me to court for fraud. Yet they can't send anything in the mail?

- Mac| 1 replyGot the same call from a "James Bryan". At first, left a voicemail stating the same stuff you guys have said but I got another call today and decided to answer it. He directed me to another number 844-367-4902 where they said they were trying to collect a debt from Vivint from 4 years ago and they were about to send me to court over the debt. I have had an issue with Vivint but when I try to contact Vivint they never get back to me to resolve the issue. Kind of strange how they got my new number but don't know that I've moved twice since that address they were trying to serve me at. Good thing I seen this site. I'm not paying these jokers anything!
- BigA replies to MacYeah, the "fake process server" scam. Trying to extort money from you by scaring you into thinking you are going to be sued. Never, ever pay a debt collector one red cent until they have done the following:
It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and that they have the legal right to collect it. You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
And then after you have received that letter, make them validate the debt with the original creditor as required by law.

List of State AG’s offices: https://800notes.com/faq/attorney-general - CateVI received 2 calls from an "unknown" number. I answered the second and was told by Carl that he has been to my residence (a home I lived in 3 years ago) 2 times and this was his third and final attempt to drop off papers. He told me that my brother gave him my new number and provided me with a number and case id. I asked if he could bring me the papers and he told me that he had 8 other people to deliver papers to and couldn't take any more time to bring it to my current residence. I called the 844-367-6601 and spoke to a secretary who the sent me to an extremely rude man who did nothing but speak over me and then asked "how many times have you been sued"!!!! I then asked to speak to someone else. Then next man who continued the rude behavior. All I could get out of him was that I owed Vivent security systems $3,687! I used vivint 4 years ago and canceled my account due to faulty equipment. basically this is a scam! Iron gate is also linked to a company called perfection collections...they are equally as rude and wrong. My suggestion is to call your state attorney general and file a complaint.

- CJHCLHI received the same call with my the exact words from an Alana Vega last week. I'm so glad I looked up this number to see the replays because it did scare me. They asked for my mother who is now ill and probably does have an old account from a long time ago. Glad I didn't call them back, I probably would have fallen for that.
