Received a call referring to a suit brought by the IRS. We are aware of the IRS not call and this person is a scam artist trying to get a return by threats to sue. Don't fall for this scam.

IRS scam  beligerent when you confront them as a scam

Has anyone made any progress figuring out how these thieves have gotten our personal information (Name, address, phone num, etc). It seems that one of the only ways to stop the calls is to avoid whatever website or public information source they are using to get this info.

Impetsonating a USA internal revenue officer as a scam

This is a scam....do not give out any personal information of any kind. The IRS would never contact you by phone. They would send you a registered letter

Let's see, businesses being hacked, data mining, Facebook and Linkedin and any other social media you readily put all your information on for others to see, public information sites such as county property records, and finally do a web search of your name and see what it pulls up, information such as were you lived for the last ten years, who your friends and neighbors are, what kind of car you drive (it would be the one parked in your driveway or the front of your house when Google went by, took a picture, and then posted it for everyone to see on the internet).

Another IRS scam

Called and left message stating IRS had a claim against me.  Blocked caller.  Received previous call from individual with an India accent, received case number, never pursued it.  IRS would send info via mail.

they called me and told me that they are the irs and they had a law suit again me and they told me to call back

Got a call from 8444900728 couldn't understand what they wanted mainly because it's a male recorded voice. Wanting me to call back for which I already knew was a scam. I'm so tired of calls from ppl who want to scam others. There should be a set of attorneys to deal with this type of harassment.

left a message saying they were the irs, and left their number and I  should call make because they had filed a law suit against me.

Got another one today.  2 additional ones from a 619 area code also today.  Total 100% scam.  It'd be hysterical if it wasn't so annoying

IRS fraud call.  I’ve been getting these quarterly for about 2 to 3 years.  Always a new set of phone numbers – so blocking doesn’t work.  I report them to tigta.gov.  The robo voice used to be female and said, “This is Officer Nickie Phelps of the Internal Revenue Services.”  It ended with the incongruous statement, “have a nice day.”  Before that, there was the real voice of an Hispanic male with basically the same statement.  I talked to them once – to someone who called himself officer RoyKing – yes – he didn’t know that this was two words, a first and last name.  He had a thick accent which sounded either Pakistani or Indian.  He wanted me to stay on the phone with him – not talk to anyone else – while he guided me through a money laundering process to provide them with a one-time special deal to pay off the “money owed” and not get arrested.  Really nasty people.  I’ve worked with the IRS before and found them to be nice people and they never call – always do business through the US Postal Service if there is a problem.

Yep got the same call 1-844-490-0728.  Started arguing with the person and asking for verification from her on detailed stuff.  She ended up hanging up on me.

Ha ha ha !! this MORONS ...must no have been watching the news lately ...this number 844-490-0728..was featured on the national news of scams coming from india....this low class crooks call hundreds of people everyday with the same I.R.S.  bulls$$$ ....no one should fall for these DUMB [***] ...more people now know more about these IDIOTS ..thanks to the media...sooner or later these IMBECILES will need to go and get a real job..since no one is really call them back ..they will leave you a message that they have a lawsuit against you ....keep in mind that never in the message they mention your name ?? why ??  because they don't know who you really are ...they are just taking a chance to see who will be STUPID enough to call them back......Ha ha ha ..what a bunch of MORONS !!!!!!!!!!

The call says a federal lawsuit has been filed against you to call this number for further information.  A person answers with heavy accent telling you you need to get a debit card and call them the numbers to pay your fine or you will be arrested.  Do not call the back and do not give them any information.  It is a scam to get your money.  I'm blocking them but unfortunately they use a lot of different numbers to do their dirty work.

Hi.  I like your call blocker idea but. I have downloaded sever different ones rated high on the Play Sore.  All of them failed blocking calls and text.  Can you suggest a Call Blocker which works?  Thanks so much.
