I've not changed my number in quite a while. And I still won't. I like my number. That being said, someone called me two years ago, from an "unknown caller" and left messages to call this 844 number with some case number. What's most annoying is that they went on to call other members of my family. The reason I bring this up, is because now these people are starting to call again. And more aggressively now, calling two to three members of my family as well. They said they are from a company called 'process verifications'.  What the crap?!?! How can I make this stop? I am so tired of hard-working individuals like myself and my family members getting harassed by people who are so 'schist' and down right crooked that they can't do what honest people do all day. Get a legal job and earn your own!!!

Called my company, asked for an employee.  I returned the call and asked them not to phone again, this was a place of business and you would have to reach the employee at their home.  The man that answered started yelling at me, and said that he was calling from a "federal institution" and he could do whatever he wanted.  I asked which federal institution and he hung up on me.

These idiots from 844-515-8189 have repeatedly called my landlords up and said they are process servers and trying to serve papers on someone in our household.  No one has come to our door, no one has sent us any letters or tried to contact us in anyway.  We have called the BBB about this activity but there is nothing they can do about it.  Finally, we have called a private detective and an attorney to find out what is going on and to cease and desist this activity.  As it turns out, this is incredibly illegal thing to do and breaks just about every rule and law that has been established for the collections industry.  Anyone called by these guys please do not lie down and take it......  Fight back

The man said he was a. Process server and asked if so and so would be home. I said she hasn't lived here in 5 years and he had old employment history. After he gave me the case number I thought it was real. But I was suspicious...glad I googled it. He gave me 1 hour to call back or else someone was in big trouble...bring it a- hole!

I called the number and it was the same (process server guy )that called me,but when he called me he said he didn't know what type of company hired him to serve papers

Aha I called him back and said I was an attorney for so and so and I needed to know what this "case number" pertained to because we have already settled in court. He asked if I wanted his help or not and I asked why he was so nasty? By law he was required to give me the company details...he said" oh God! And hung up! Maybe I will call him back from my uncles phone,he is a deputy sheriff!

Received a phone call from 844-515-8189  and was told that they had sent me papers but I have not received any. Never gave me the name of who was filing against me. But wanted me to pay off a loan told me it was a good thing that I had called him so I could pay this before it went to court. He told me that it was a federal offense and that if I didn't pay this that he would see me in court. I don't know if this is legal but I guess he thought he was going to intimidate me but it didn't work.

these people are scammers just hang your phone up please don't pay any money yes they have your info but what ever you do don't give them nomore info on you these old debts are bought and they call trying to scam you out of money so what ever you do don't pay any money to these people just hand and you can file a complaint with attorney general also notify BBB  so they can get this out on the news so everyone is aware of this

both 323 288 5895 & 844 515 8189 have been calling relatives & eventually my cell phone. They do not give co name. They make an elusive reference to some "case" and are agressive - "YOU HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED". I already reported them to the FTC. There are tons of websites w/people complaining that it's a same. They may be debt collectors - but if they are they are breaking all the regulations & laws.

They called my work, how did they get my work number when they don't have my cell number?? Is it because all my work info is on my credit report? My old home phone number, which i disconnected, from 7 year, is on my credit report. I have never updated with my cell phone number. How do I get them to stop calling me at work?

They violate every law on the book and are not legite.
Don't ever call them back and block their numbers if you can
They are using threats to scam you and fleece you

i also received a call from this number at work asking to speak to me or payroll dept about a debt they say I had back in 08-11 told me papers were being sent to my work place about garnishing my wages if I didn't take care of this ..gave me options to settle by email? so no paper trails would be left..lol..asked for documents to prove I owed got no response..caller left his direct line by the name joseph sanchez 323 -274-2726..Beware of these numbers..i had a huntch it was a scam now reading everybodys post I know it is..thanks

I recently moved here from another state. Because I have a residential security system, I obtained landline service from the local telephone company. About two week later, I began getting calls from this number (844-515-8189). I normally don't answer toll-free numbers that do not also include a name that shows on my Caller ID, but after 3 weeks of daily calls from this number, I was finally intrigued enough to answer. I returned the call, as requested, and it was a HUGE mistake!

I spoke with a 'Mr. Sanchez', a particularly nasty and vile human being. Mr. Sanchez accused me of being the person he was looking for to 'serve legal process upon', and told me to prove that I *wasn't* that person. I directed him to do a reverse-number lookup, to which he replied, "I don't have to do jack!".

I hung up, reported the matter to my telephone company's annoyance call bureau, and have now blocked the number. Thanks to several of you for letting me know about the 323 area-code number-- I'll block it, too.

I hear ya jerry Mr. sanchez is still calling numerous times at my work place..just 5 min ago got a call threatening me again

This outfit called my cell phone today looking for my son. A recording saying, "Call this number immediately to leave your formal statement". I work for a law office, so I called them immediatley, knowing that on the caller ID my law firm would show up. The guy who answered said, "Legal Department". Hmmmmm.....I told the guy I worked for a law firm and they had called my cell looking for my son and to send all correspondence on the claim to my boss, an attorney, to review. The guy asked me to hold, then i was cut off. So I called back. The next guy was SOOOOO accomodating, but said they could not send any correspondence about the debt since it had been send multiple times to my son who "was very familiar with the matter". I asked three times what the name of the company was until he said "LDA LAw Group". I asked for an address...he said they do all their work by fax. Hmmmm......I asked if they were a collection company and he said no, they were "debt brokers" who purchased debts before they went to collections and that he could negotiate a deal with my son for "all these accounts". Hmmm.....I said I'd just wait to hear from a collection company and he said, 'well, we can get these amounts way down now if he wants to work with us". I said I would have my boss the attorney call him and he said "we can't talk to anyone but your son without his consent". I said we woudl fax him an authorization. He then said to just have my son call him. "We are more than willing to work with him."  I'm sure you are....needless to say, I blocked the number and doubt we will hear from any collection agency on this one. I checked the courts in the area...no outstanding claims on file against my son. What a bunch of crooks.....

They keep calling my work line asking for an employee who does not wok here any longer.  The first time they called was 8/18/14 I spoke with a man who said his name was Chris Handson and that they were looking to serve some papers on an employee here.  I told him that I didn't think we allowed employees to be served at work and that I would have to ask my boss who was on vacation that I would call him back.  He got pretty rude with me and then he left this number 884-515-8189.  The next day I spoke with my boss and he instructed me to call him back and relay a message to him but when I called the number back it was no good.  Today 8/20/14 I received a new voice mail message from a woman who said her name was Jack - also looking to serve papers on the same guy.  She said she was with Clark County Courts and that they need to serve him with some documents.  She left this number 844-515-8189.  When I called the number back it was not good.  I believe this is a scam also otherwise the numbers would be good.

If I settled he would  not  have me served with papers  to appear in court.
I asked him the address of his law firm he would not give it. I asked what
Business did I owe this debt to  and he would not tell me. He became
quit belligerent and  demanding,and after  many minutes  of this behavior
I hung up on him.

They keep calling me and telling me about some up coming court date and some investigation.
On hold for 10 minutes. Hang up. Then they call right back. Saying they know my address and will be delivering the papers.
Let them knock on my door.
Until I get more info from them. They can call all they want. Seems like a scam to me.

sounds like a collection agency.   i know i have bills but never heard of them.
