Received call yesterday but did not answer; let it go to voicemail and it said to respond back to a Miss Weaver.  I wish they would just stop!!!!  I have been scammed before and have learned not answer any calls if I do not recognize the number. Return contact number 844-898-6757

i've been getting these calls for a while. Same info: "Asset Recovery Division" Mrs. Weaver; call back number 844-898-6757
in RE to file ending in 270386.
I blocked the number, but I can't figure out how to not let them leave messages.

Consumer billing alternatives  claims I owe the money and threaten me with legal action.

I just got a phone call from them today from a Vanessa Ortiz

Claims i owe a payday loan. Been paid .

call came from the  844-600-4818, Message con contact them to avoid the claim being escaladed. Then to contact Mrs. Weaver at 844-898-6757 and reference claim number .... nothing said.... no claim number.

These [***] keep dialing my phone trying to intimidate me by saying they will give my case to a district attorney and will serve papers on me at home or my place of business.  They can all miss my ass.

They just Called my former employer as well claiming they were calling from "the county" made it sound like the county courthouse or sheriff's department. Scam written all ovER it

Someone with the number 844-600-4818 left a partial message on our answering machine with a threat about escalating something and saying we needed to call a Mrs. Weaver.  Since we have no current loans, no debts, and a credit score above 800, it's clearly the same scam others have reported.  Our home phone number was changed 6 months ago when we moved, and it seems like our new number is constantly barraged by scam callers from many different numbers.

In any event,

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

If they are bothering you, report them:

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.  Tell 'em  no scammy debt collector is going to push you around.

You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking).   the only thing they understand.

I too received a call from a Mr. Jeff Bryant who claimed I took out a loan for 300 and that I owed 560 and we could close and settle this now.  He stated they tried to call me in February and that I was rude to the caller for asking for a proof of debt in writing with name, account, amount... all the basics.  When I would not pay and told him i would pass information to my attorney he simply claimed I was trying to scam them and that I already had proof and I just needed to pay or they would forward to the courts.. I welcomed him forwarding the bill to the courts and said If I truly owed someone I would rather have a written document than your word over the phone and he hung up on me...

I too just received a call from 844-600-4818.  Asked to call back Mr. Gates from CFG. No name of who they are looking for and no case # was given.  It was like they were supposed to insert the name and case number from a computer and nothing was there. Called my cell and then called my husband's cell. Mr. Gates said they are calling regarding an outstanding debt and if you don't call back today we will be forwarding out your paperwork..blah blah blah We don't have any delinquent bills so this must be a scam.

Received call from Mr. Gates and said that they were looking for no name and with an account of nothing and said that I needed to contact them today or my legal representation or they would be forced to send paperwork to me.
