844-712-2131

See notes on phone number (212) 200-5056. This 212 number references a complaint made against the recipient of the message and tells the person to call the number above for further information. Others reporting the two number here says that when returning calls to both of these numbers they get a message that the numbers are not accepting calls.

I wonder if when a person calls and gets the not accepting calls message if the phone number is being validated for some less than legal purpose.

call today on my answering machine.  could not understand a lot of it, but ups came up on called id with unknown number.  no names mentioned just to cb and have 2 forms of id and to alert your atty too.

They called from a 252 area code and left a message.. The girl said her name was amy hernandez and she was calling on behalf of a formal complaint that was filled and that papers would be served to my residence or place of work and to call 844-712-2131 directly if me or my attorney had questions.. So I called the number and it said jp and associates.. An operator picked up and told me to hold but I hung up after a few minutes. That's when I decided to look up the company and saw that it's a scam company.. They try to scare you into paying old debts that you supposedly have that are timed debts.. Don't give them any information and don't send them any money.. Apparently they are all over the Internet because they have been scamming ppl and they can't be pinpointed.. They have a address on file with the BBB but it does no good

I got the same exact message yesterday. Thank you for the heads up!

Got the same message this morning from Amy Hernandez and knew something was not right. Thank goodness for this website! How do we catch them? Should i call them back and keep them on the phone long enough for the police to trace the call? I always stay registered with "Do Not Call" registry but can never get to someone to report unsolicited calls.

Exact same message n procedure as Stacy posted above.  I did call the 252 number n it says doesn't exist.  Have blocked these numbers from my phones.

I was called from (212) 200-5069 today.  I got the same message from an Amy Hernandez with same number provided to call the (844) 712-2131.  I informed my attorney and had him call them.   He identified himself and his firm and requested they send their representative to his office and they hung up.  I have no bad debt in over 10 years, way past the statute of limitations and this is a scam.

The call I got was word for word as Tracy describes.
A friend suggested I put the number in search and I did.

Same thing.  Call came from 212-200-5059.  Caller left msg to call 844-712-2131.  Both calls = SCAM

I received a call from a voice mail from Amy Hernandez who said I would be served documents. She left a number for JP Associates.  This number answered, put me on hold, and patched me to a number that didn't pick up. I believe it was the same scam mentioned in the comment section when I googled this number.

I have been receiving the exact same message for the past 2 days. Only difference I got the call from a 212 number.

Received exact phone call today at 4:30 PM. Could not understand the majority of the message--just two forms of ID and if my attorney or myself had any questions to call 844 712 2131!

Just because a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt does not mean you owe it
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  DIME  until the debt is validated.

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply block their calls and ignore them.

Report them:

Also contact your local attorney general
If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money,  tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  You might have to yell at the scammer and talk over him or her.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them.
