This number called my 15 year old son.  I asked for the number to be removed from their calling list.   The caller became very vulgar with me after I said this was a minors phone number.  And if they didn't remove it the law would be called.

Called about a capital one card and said I haven't made a payment since 2004. Well I have a capital one card in good standing. I immediately called capital one and asked if they had any record of an old account with them that I still owed on. They spent 10 mins researching and came back and said that the has no record of an old account and that I was in good standing. (Never late, actually)

Called and uttered last 4 digits of my SSN; then proceeded to tell me he is calling to get information in order to collect on a debt.  He obviously is not aware of the statute of limitations on old debt. This business trolls for old collections; even if they're over 7 or 10 yrs old and via intimidation, tries to get you to agree that "you owe" this debt so that they can scam you out of money you don't have!  I directed him to FCC Regulations & blocked him.

Tried to get me to pay a cc debt that was non-exsistant. I called them back to tell them they were wrong, I was an educated consumer and they were a scam. They argued with me till I hung up.

They call me every other day. I called them and they confirmed they are from Astra Business. Then I said I keep getting calls from them, they said this wrong number and hung up. I added them to call reject list. ?I wish I knew how to block the number.

Was expecting call and answered without checking Caller ID. It was obviously a scam. Heavy accent, he knew my name, but mispronounced it. When I asked what it was regarding, he said "it was a personal business matter." I have several calls from the same number so I've blocked it. I noticed many comments that this is a company named Astra and I looked up the name. They don't seem to be a legitimate business.

Well, the BBB, Bloomberg, and the Florida Dept. of State all say they are a "legitimate" business.  Of course that doesn't mean that their collection efforts are legitimate.  The information seems to be confusing since they list addresses in Florida, North Carolina, and India.  In the meantime:

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.  

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

They kept asking for me to confirm my social security number and I said no I will not do that and then he said a 77 number and and mine ends in 88 and he said oh I'm sorry no yeah it is an eight eight and I'm like no your bottom-feeding scammer do not call this number again or I will get you food and they're calling my mother on her cell phone number and stressing her out she's 80 years old

Very much a scam.  I wouldn't on firm the last 4 of my social, and the guy got pushy.. DO NOT CALL.

Unsolicited call received at 9:25 AM with caller id of "TOLL FREE CALL" which I mistakenly answered and a Robotic voice requested me to hold to which I replied "no" and hung up...

Out of the gate he asks to confirm my last 4 of my SS , I say to him..no wrong...what can I do for you...you have 3 seconds to get to it , he then asks me again to confirm my SS, I told him to go jump in a lake...he gets irritated with an Indian accent...then says my last name , I say to him you got wrong number...then a long hesitation , then he starts with this  debt collection disclosure, I say to him after he starts, times up...I told you 3 seconds...this conversation is terminated, I hung up and put this number on block...this number has called me 3 times prior , didn't answer previously as I was busy...I have excellent credit...however 10 yrs ago I had issue with a clothing store that went out of business...for a few hundred bucks , good luck on that one.

Calling and harrasing two of my phones

Called a lot of times--never answer an unknown # so have never talked to them nor have they left a message. If they are a debt collection company, they are doing a good job scamming. The statute of limitations is 7-10 years depending on your state--if you do not admit to owing anything, they can do nothing. If you admit to anything, the whole collection process starts all over again and it is just like it just got turned over. So, if you don't know the # DO NOT ANSWER THE PHONE CALL!

Call repeatedly. They even called at 5AM on a weekend. Want me to confirm social security number...No way!

I have no clue who they are

They call me then ask whom they are speaking with.  If they called they should know.
