A family member received a text from this number that appears to be a phishing attempt!  The alert was for a debit card lock and to call this number, yet the person does not have a card with the bank claiming to be the sender (Chase).  Warning!!!

I received same call just right now as well.I do have an account but I receive email notifications so i checked my account online first then googled the number to see if it was a legit bank number and it is not.

Wife and I both got same text.  No accounts with Chase seems bogus.

Spoke with chase security. Told to send email to abuse@chase.com with fraudulent text in the subject line. Took a screenshot of the text. This is absolutely not from chase.

In the future, you should continue to look out for any email that:

- Asks you to confirm, verify or give out account numbers, Social Security numbers or other personal information.

- Threatens to close your account if you don't send personal information immediately.

- Says there are unauthorized charges on your account and asks you to enter or confirm your account information.

These emails are designed to look like we sent them, so be careful and report any that you receive. We work relentlessly to shut down sites that generate fraudulent email.

Got a text from this number stating "CHASE Debit Card Lock!" and told me to call 844-875-7029. I called Chase directly using their customer service phone number of 800-935-9935 and was told my account is in good standing, no problems.

Received same text from same number minutes ago

Just received this text:
CHASE Debit Card Lock!  Member: (my phone number). Urgent CALL : (844) 875-7029

Checked here before doing anything else. This is obviously a scam! Don't call the number. Don't give any info. Your debt card is fine!!

Received a text message from this number+1 844-875-7029. Stating I have a debit card lock. False number for chase bank.

Just got this message just now as well. I logged into my Chase app and didn't see any pending transactions. Believed to be a phishing attempt. Contact Chase and report these guys

Same thing just happened to me. I had just left a store with my elderly mother, who banks with Chase,and received the same text. I know Chase has my number as a contact also, so I almost fell for it. We just got off the phone with the fraud department. They said they NEVER send these texts.BEWARE

This is a fraud, contacted CHASE, they stated they do not know this number , nor have they put a hold on the card.

I also just got a lock alert text and when you call the # the automated voice asks for your card information. I just hung up and googled the #. I knew it was fraud!!!

Same here. Total fraud.
