They said the name is Tony Thompson with Rush Processing calling with a complaint filed and they want you to call (844)883-8107 I did not call back the 844 number and decided to search and found all your complaints on this website.  I also googled the (844) area code it is a phantom area code and do not call them back. It acts as a toll free and they can see you calling them back. I am going to complain but they don't give any real information. Which leads me to believe that are scammers. Don not trust them!!!!!!!

Here are two pages of links to (mostly government) sites in Canada and the USA where you can report phone scams/spams, or learn more about them.

First, look elsewhere on this site for an Article, entitled "Where to Report Phone Crime".  (It may appear in the column to your right).

For a more frequently updated list of complaint sites, with links to government web pages, look here:

    Blocked By The Blood
The call would come from a 252 area code and sometimes NC legal. I answered and the young lady who was very short and matter of fact advised me to call 844-883-8107. She said that I owed a Sprint PCS bill from 2006 and gave something similar to my previous address. She also asked me to confirm the last 4 of my social. I refused. She said that I owed $950.00 to sprint. I asked why wasn't this listed on my credit report, she said that they have the option to add to your credit and as a courtesy they chose not to. I told her to mail me more information, she said that I would be receiving court papers. I told her I'll wait for them. I the receive a bogus collection letter that looks like a child typed it. I researched the return address and it's to a UPS center in California. I have blocked their number but they are still contacting me, and it shows as blocked and suspected scam. Please be careful, these vultures refuse to work and earn a decent living, so they choose to rob and steal, I decree that they shall receive full payback for the wicked ways.

It is very easy to deal with these crooks.  Simply make them follow the letter of the law.  You do this by knowing what your rights under the law are.  Start here:

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Read up on your rights here and also make a complaint at this government site:  http://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

I received a call from 1-844-883-8104. They asked for the last four of my social. i asked for alternate ways to identify my and was told that it was the only way. I asked for an email or letter to be mailed. They refused that also and said the next step would be legal complaint. she never would tell me what the call was in reference to.  I was skeptical when she asked for my last four. Seems like it's a scam! I need to find out more. Be careful!

i received a call regarding a t mobile account. talked to a gentlemen there that had fully explained to me the account the i had. before i called i came across this page and read all the comments so i was a little hesitant to call. i decided to call and again was explained the account fully. thought about it and yes i actually had the account i called t mobile myself just to verify. they stated that it was an actual delinquent account. some of you may have had bad experiences and some of you are just running away from paying your bills. don't just go by the negative comments. you may have actually had a bill that you owe. i will agree they tactics they use can be better.

I just got a call from this number and I was SO DUMB to actually give them the last 4 of my ss #. I should have been wiser to know this was bs from the jump. I was busy w/my kids on spring break and didn't really have the time to ask a whole lot of questions. Curious to know if I should be reporting this to the credit departments and also my local police department? I keep a CLOSE eye on my credit report and check it on a weekly basis through CK. If someone could give me some advice on what it is I should do, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
