Just received a call from 972-452-6297 that went directly to voicemail. It was the "extend your car warranty" scam. I could press 1 to speak to a scammer or 2 to be removed from their call list. I could also dial this # for that, as well. The caller ID didn't give a name, just said "Spam". # is now blocked.

Upon answering the call, an automated recording began to play. It stated that this was in regards to reinstating of extending your car's warranty. To stop these calls you can call (844) 989-1708.

Same experience as but call was from 248-791-0397. Robo message -
Notice in the mail about your cars extended warranty eligibility. Since we have not gotten a response we are giving you a final courtesy call before we close out your file. Press 1 to speak with a warranty specialist about possibly extending or reinstating your coverage. To be removed and placed on our do not call list, press 2 or call our 800 number at 844-989-1708

Caller ID on my cell phone showed a private phone number 401-238-32xx from Carolina, RI. Message left to reinstate coverage or be placed on do not call list. The 844 number was provided as a call back. This appears to be a scam. I have nothing to be reinstated. Research shows the number on the caller ID appears to be a spoofed number from a private citizen.

Just called home number.  Have gotten several calls from Quinlan, TX with different numbers always trying to get us to do a car warranty.  The number that showed on caller ID 903-226-4645.  And they actually left a message:
this is a final call before we close out your file". "Press 1 to extend or reinstate your car's warranty" "press 2 to be put on our do not call list". This was followed by "we are calling from automotive services, if you would like to be removed from our calling list please call toll-free: 844-989-1708.   I did not call their number just blocked.

They called the second line of my business, which isn't published anywhere.  It was probably a residence number previously, but we have had the number since 2004. I just let my voice mail take the call.

Same as all the others.   I actually pressed '1' and tried to get the woman to tell me the name of the company.
She refused and continued to ask for information about my vehicle.   I told her I wouldn't give her any information until she gave me some information,  and she hung up.

Don't answer the call or try to get removed by pressing a number.  If you do they will log your call as a 'live' line, change the source number and call you again a week or two later.  They have no information about you other than your phone listing, age, and address, so anything you tell them gives them more reason to call you again or sell the info to someone else.  Make a complaint to the FCC.  While it likely will do little since the source of the calls is likely out of the US, at least it will make the FCC pay attention...
