This # has been calling me off and on for a couple YEARS. They say they are calling about a bad check written in ? 2002 I think. I did have one-at that time, but it was paid immediatly-within a month of doing it.
Why they are calling me now..8 years later...on a debt that was satisfied, I cannot imagine a legal reason why. I talked to them once-I was curious-and they were SO unbelievably rude-they used the words "you are lying"..when I said it was paid ( it was a $17.00 check) and they want almost $500 in payment. They wanted me to go to Walmart to get a money order. I cant imagine anyone being dumb enough to actually do that!!
DO NOT TRUST THIS CALL! THEY ARE A FRAUD.

My caller ID said LAW FIRM 845-678-6200, to call back # 845-678-6212 for a "Matt Conklin". I am so glad I researched this before I called them - I knew something was fishy. I called them back from a different phone, *67 of course, and some guy just answers "Law Firm" no name of the firm, sounded like he had a mouth full of food and couldn't care less about answering the phone. So I played along and told him I would like to know what the calls were regarding. He said I had a returned check from Papa John's from January - even gave a check # 1295! Said that since I 'refused' to pay Papa Johns, it had been turned over to them and that the balance due was $171!! I let him know I have never been to a Papa Johns which is true. I asked what the amount of this "check" was - he couldn't tell me.  He became even more rude and said it didn't matter - their "records" said I owed and they will now be taking 'further action against me'.  At that point I told him I had researched their so called "law firm" before calling and asked if he really thought I was dumb enough to believe their scam and send them money? . He raised his voice and said "Oh really? We're running a scam huh? You're the one that owes money and don't pay your debts and we're the scammers? I don't care who the f*ck who you are and it don't matter to me" then hung up. What nice proper language from a "law firm" LOL    ** Weird that he had all my "info" immediately w/o looking anything up. I haven't been in the 1200's of my checks since college ~ what a SCAM!! Somehow I bet the lovely recorded calls will continue.... PEOPLE ~ PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH !! These people are counting on people believing them - SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!

Tonight's call came from an unidentified man wanting D S.  The first call was automated; the 2 calls since have been from a man who refused to provide any identifying specifics on the person he was looking for. He was very rude & threatening because I would not provide information. When I asked for specifics, he curtly responded, "that's not what I asked." Today I was told he would recommend legal proceedings due to my noncompliance.   His telephone number is 845-678-6200.

Got a call from "Law Firm", asking for 'Jesus.  When I stated that no one by that
name was at the number they called, the woman got very insistant that I knew
who he was and DEMANDED to speak to him.  When I said that she got the
wrong number, she started giving me the third degree about how long I had
this number, and if I ever knew anyone by that name.  

Of course, my anger got the better of me after we hung up, and I called the
number back (from my call waiting).  The person answering the phone said
that unless I gave her all of my information, that there was nothing she could
do....   I DID NOT give her any of my info, and refuse to play that game.

Told them last week they had the wrong number.  Starting calling again on Monday.  Answered a call yesterday and repeated the fact that the person they want does not have this number.  Said it would take 24 hours to get out of system.  We will see if I stay off their list this time.

I have already reported them to the FTC.  I suggest that everyone else do the same.

Received call on cell phone from number I did not recognize. Let it go to voice mail. A woman with strong English accent left message to call back regarding important issue, and I was to reference a file number. Called them back--I asked how they got my number. The woman asked me what my number was. Asked again how they got my number--wouldn't answer, transferred me to Daniel, who kept redirecting with other questions, whether I knew this other person, and ordered me to have this person call them back within 48 hours or things "would escalate--are we clear? Are we clear!?!"  I asked this rude man Daniel why he was giving ME attitude, then he hung up. Looked up phone number on internet--traced to Cabrera & Associates Law Firm, AKA Hall & Associates, 560 Route 303, Orangeburg, NY 10962-1329.  Glad I read about them here...they can take their NY attitude and dump it in the Hudson.

these people have called my house multiple times daily for the majority of this year. i let my answering machine get it at which point they immediately hang up. i've only answered once and got an automated voice looking for my father. the only reason i'm even bothering to look up the numberis that they've called 8 times today.

So i just got this call the cid said law firm # was 845-678-6200 said that they were getting ready to file legal action against me for 2 bad checks issued in 2004.  When I questioned them they said they sent letters to 2 different address' one is my current addy the other i have not a clue where they got it from.  I asked what bank the checks were issued from the guy told me they didnt have nor need that information.  When I asked him what other info they had to make sure I was the person they were looking for he got an attitude and said he didnt need any other info.  I asked about my ssn I didnt give it to him.  he finally hung up on me and before the call was disco told me when I recieve the paperwork in the mail then I can call back and argue about it.  he said he was telling his client which was some security check something to presue against me with legal action.  I am very upset this was almost 6yrs ago and im really thinking that its not even me they are looking for but it has me worried at the same point idk what to do Someone help

A really rude guy called Daniel keeps harassing me and my grandmother's phone regarding a bounced check payment which I already paid in cash to the company, Radio Shack in this case. This IDIOT gets some snotty that he caused for my grandma to have a Anxiety Attack last week.

I told him I had already made arrangements with RS to pay the check and he's answer was "If you pay them it doesn't matter, your still gonna have to pay me the full amount(original debt + his comission) or I'll take you to court.

Little does he know that my lawyer is already doing the paperwork to take THEM to court for what they did to my grandma!!!!

OMG Betty Stern called me with this same story. No documentation or anything.  I am filing an ETC complaint with on this company.

does this number look familiar to anyone  1-866-201-0940  I have had numerous calls and never leave a message.  I finally called back but blocked my number and they answer Steven Michael and Associates...
