this number 847 783 8341 calls me 10-15 times per week. sometimes i don't answer and when i do there is no one on the other line....i have heard that if this is a computer system calling you can push the * on your phone 5 times and it will remove the number from the computers memory, i tried it but it does not seem to work...

They call at least 3-4 times each day, and then on a Sunday... and the lady was rude!  I told her not to call anymore.  I guess I'll call Matt Lamb and file with the FCC as well...I thought the National DO Not Call list provided for a $10,000.00 fine per occurrance?  Too bad it is an FCC fine, and not paid directly to us, the victims, as restitution...

This number has only called me once (so far)  If it is Colorado Technical University as said in an earlier post, that would make some sense, as I did request info from and gave my cell number to them some months ago.  They must have their offices in Dundee, Illinois.  That's where Verizon reverse number look-up puts the phone number (847) 783-8341

Did any of you who are receiving these calls happen to post your resume online and then get a call from some college recruiter?  That is why they keep calling me.  They have called 8 times in the last 4 days.  Kinda annoying.  Wish it would stop.

If you ever applied for a job at places such as World Voice News in the net, they are the guys giving out your info to some background check company who then give out your number to those online colleges to call and bug you to sign up for college education. They are a bunch of pests. I have these kind of calls too. It's upsetting that you are looking for a job and people out there post fake jobs for you to send in your resume with your private info then they sell it to other companies who do soliciting business. Someone should put a stop to this and bring respect, honesty and privacy back to the American people. Is this a third world country now? Where are our rights??? Damn it!

I have had several of these calls and until finding this site had no idea that it was a major problem for others too.  Lets go knock on their door.

I was able to block their number after they called a few minutes ago on my home phone. I get other calls that never leave a message, but AT&T can't block those numbers.

This caller repeatly calls my cell phone and I don't know who this could possibly be. No one I want to talk to. Don't know how they got my number. Please arrest them, I don't need to be harassed by these strangers.

I get called from this 847 area code at LEAST twice a day.  I have not answered once and have them marked as a rejected call so it now no longer rings through to me, but THEY CONTINUE TO CALL!!!

I get lots of calls form this number all times of the day and all weekend.

This number has called my cell phone number 12 twelve times since 07-09-2007.

They have called me 3 times in the last 24 hours. Once they left a voicemail and all the guy said was "OK" very sarcastically and hung up!!! [***]!!!

I keep getting this number calling me along with Arlington, IL. I have no idea who it is.

This is call usually comes in when people fill out surveys online and mark something or other about education. DO NOT CALL list does not apply when you say yes on the surveys as you "give them permission" to call you. Some people knows about this, and thus puts in "fake" numbers which end up becoming other people's numbers. Usually those surveys are in a combination of "special" offers. Lately it is directly related to "Giftitamerica" who provides offers one of which is "Free $600 Gift card that can be used towards an IPhone".

These companies are not at fault for calling the numbers, other than being soo stupid to provide information on how to be removed from their call list.

I have been getting called every day and 2x on sunday.  I have left messages for this guy (matt lamb) and I am going to press charges every time i get a call.  The funny part.......while i was on the phone calling matt......they called one more time.  Same thing, if i dont pick up....no message...if i do they ask for different people.  When i ask who they are, they hang up.....When i call them, they will not talk to me unless i give out information......the police will get very tired of me real soon.

Well i just called the FCC and filed a complaint and one on line as well.  The only way to stop them is to file a complaint EVERY TIME they call.  Keep a list of DAY-TIME- etc....it helps.....when i called the school i was hung up on and when i called the  other number i could only get to a live person one time and he called me a B**ch.....then hung up....i will file every time and will call the school daily until it is fixed (police told me that i should bug them as much as they do us) until it stops.
