I've been receiving calls from this number daily at least 3 or 4 x each day. Does not leave a msg. When number is called it sounds like it goes directly to an answering machine or fax. 1 beep and that's it. It's becoming very annoying,

Medicare? One of these sites show this toll free number originates in Pakistan! I don't normally answer phone calls that do not identify themselves so I can see who is calling BEFORE I answer the phone. I answered today because I am so annoyed at how often they call each day. I clearly told him that I don't do business with anyone who won't identify themselves and asked him to take my name off his list. He told me to call the Do Not Call registry and said he would remove my name. They will probably sell my phone # now. If I had known before I answered the phone that they were in Pakistan, I would not have answered the phone. But as you know, 3 or 4 calls a day is very annoying.

I've been getting 2 or 3 calls daily, 7 days a week from this number... mostly robo calls. After waiting for this bottom-feeder to tire and stop calling, I took a call last night... got an American who rapidly gave some company name and then said he represented United Healthcare.  I'm approaching the time when I must sign up for Medicare so I assume that's why I'm getting these calls.  Told him to take my name off of their robo-call list.  This morning, I got another call from them... this time I was connected to an Indian who spoke very rapidly and wouldn't/couldn't clearly say or spell the name of the company he was with but did say he represented United Healthcare.  As i was telling him to take my name off their robo-call list, he kept on doing his sales spiel. I told him to shut up and listen because I have the money he wants but he didn't, so I hung up after repeating my demand that I be removed from their robo-call list. Let's see how long the peace and quiet last before this outfit calls again. I wonder if they really represent UHC or are just dialing for $$$?

Have blocked the number through At&t but it still shows up on my missed calls.  Someone should investigate this whoever is placing these annoying phone calls.  Disturbing the pease is an crime and someone should be accountable.

In reply to your comments.  Yes, my wife turns 65 in June and has gotton calls from everywhere including this one.,  One time she did answer out of curiosty and it was something about Medicare and she hung up.  We have gotton in the last month 17 weirdo calls.  We never answer them as our law enforcement here told us to never answer them.,  Even one was the ever famous Dominican Republic calls.  We have gotton at least a dozen calls from them and this one now at least a dozen or more times.  You think they would give it a rest.  Our local phone company told us unfortuntaley they get these numbers and you cannot even call them back.  Pretty sad, huh!  The FTC needs to step in or the FCC one and change the rules to include these numbers also.  When I even try to block these callers they still call.  It is enough to make you want to reach in the phone call and pimp slap the idiot.  Maybe some day they will wake up and smell the roses.

After receiving about 3 calls a day for months from this number, I decided to pick up yesterday. A lady with a foreign accent (who knew my name) told me I needed supplemental medicare insurance as I would be turning 65. I told her I was 66 and already had all the insurance I needed. She repeated that I needed supplemental insurance. She was obviously reading from a script and not listening to me at all. I told her that not only did I have supplemental insurance, but my former employer provided it for free. I asked her if she could provide a better price than free. She once again repeated that I needed supplemental insurance. My husband was on the extension line, and by this time we were laughing hysterically at this lady's stupidity. I finally hung up; it was hopeless. Not only do we have to put up with these calls, but they are handled by idiots who obviously haven't a clue.

I didn't say anything about your desires to hear from anyone.  I outlined the reason the list exists. I didn't say anything about your phone or your use of the phone. I could care less, those are words from your mouth. I don't care who clutters up your lines and wastes your time.  I don't care about who you contact for any reason.  What did my post have to do with giving out information to anyone?  Everyone pays money for their phone,  doesn't have anything to do with my explination of what the dnc does.  If you find one thing that is untrue in my post, let's hear it!  You are bringing up issues that has nothing to do with my post and explination of the dnc. You need to contact all of those persons you dont want to contact you and tell them they are not welcom, not point it out to me. I don't care who calls you.  Each and every part of your post has nothing to do with my explination and facts stated.  If you don't believe any part of my post,  how about you going to the DNC/FTC site and read a while.

Apparently not as big of an idiot as you.  At least I have taken the time to go to the site and read.  Why don't you Point out one part of my post that is not a fact! If I am an idiot,  point out why. It's easy to pop up on a board post and call someone an idiot, but don't say it because the facts are not what you want to hear.

Ditto?  Lets hear your input.  What part of my post is false or idiotic?
Just the facts about my post, not your opnion of the DNC list.

Ditto?  What part of my post is not true or fact?  I apparently know more than you about the subject at hand.  At least I understand why the DNC doesn't work to everyone's satisfaction.  Why don't you go to the site and educate yourself also.  Learn something so you can at least speak intelligently about a subject before calling others idiots...

Whoa there mr. Mosrite!  After reading Geoff's original post, and yours,  I think you may be reading into it something that is not there.   Like it or not, that is the way things are with the do not call list.  It pleases no one, and is outdate with all of the illegal callers that we have today as opposed to when the national dnc registry first came about in 2003. But I don' think he was suggesting any of the scenerios that you brought up in your post.

No one on this board can stop them for you kathy. You will have to handle that since this board does not make the calls.

It's funny how so many people who post here know so little about the do not call registry.  It seems that most think that once they register, they have complete shielding  against any and all unwanted calls. Some actually believe it is supposed to block their unwanted calls.  But their phone is still going to ring regardless of who dials the number and that "List" can't physically do a blooming thing to stop it.

about the only thing that comes close is a call blocker. However, some find it hard to work within the confines of universal blocking.  I fortunately can and have a universal block on all but my list of invited callers.

The DNC doesn't block calls and was never intended to.  For its intended and original purpose, it has become outdated.  It was just never intended to handle the mess that people are dealing with today.  A good Call Blocker is the best bet.  I have a digitone and use the universal block with an invited list. When a telemarketer calls, It never even rings one time. Although we shouldn't have to buy them, it has been Great for my peace of mind.

I think you are right Annoyed.  I can't think of anything that a telemarketer, charity, politician,  or scammer could want more than a list of numbers of potentially hostile people who have signed up on a list that screams out "DON'T CALL ME!!"  Such a list would be a Gold mine for those telemarketers hoping to enhance their profit opportunities with a call welcoming list of potential buyers.  I can't immagine any list being more sought after, fertile and profit productive than this list of citizens who bitterly hate telemarketing calls at supper time and have gone so far as to register with the federal trade commission  "Don't Call Me"..

I see your point Lynn.  However, I myself think that I would prefer a fresh list of known and proven suckers. Ideally purchased from a payday loan or computer hacker's list of Dept. Store Customers complete with SS#, cc numbers, bank account numbers, date of birth,  favorite pet's name, first school attended, mothers maiden name,  etc.   But I can certainly see how the DNC list would be a cherished treasure of endless profit potential.  lol
