Got call to deactivate account. Have no account.

Strangest thing, got text message from this number. Said it was urgent matter to call immediately. Only ID was Tower, which confirms message above that it's probably spam.

Text message.........Tower X call immediately

Received two text messages today, two minutes apart from two different phone numbers, each saying:
Tower F.C.U.  ID:
(my cell number).  Urgent
Call: (855) 277-7117
[CB] (my cell number)

Leaving this one alone!

Text from TFCU. Saying I need to call this number. I don't have an account with them. Not calling.

Same as other folks- I received a text telling me it was urgent to call this number.  Received two texts in a 3 hour period.

Husband and I both got texts from Tower F.C.U. Urgent, call 8552777177. There is a Tower Fed Credit Union in Maryland that serves Fed employees, including NSA. I'm guessing folks getting this bogus text had their personal info picked up in the breach of US Govt records last year. It's no coincidence my husband and I got this text at exactly the same time and have never had business with Tower F.C.U.

just got a post to urgently call above number-i am not a member of this credit union-and its sunday so all unions are closed.    got on here and saw that others have gotten bogus messages it confirmed my suspicion that someone out there trying to scam.

I got the same message a few hours ago that others have reported above.  Didn't try calling back; after seeing how many others got the same scam/spam message today I don't intend to.

I received the following text message 2 hrs ago on my company phone:
Tower F.C.U. ID ( My phone #)  Urgent CALL (855) 277-7117

I don't have an account with them and never heard of this credit union, so I'm not calling them.

Got a text from 855-277-7117 caller ID shows Tower F.C.U. . I called the number today (just for fun) and got a message saying " To reactivate my account please press 1 now" (press 1) / "Please enter your 16 digit card number now followed by the pound sign". I pressed 16 random numbers plus the pound sign and was told that it was an invalid account number.
I did this 3 times before the line was disconnected. If you choose to dial this number, do not enter any valid credit card numbers. When you first dial 855-277-7117, the ringer will sound strange. This is because your call has been transfered to an over seas exchange, most likely China.

Received this text message:  American Heritage F.C.U Customer ID: 2155319788. Urgent CALL : (855) 277-7117 from 410-216-5805

Since this was sent to a text only number used only for close family, it is a scam.  The number does NOT belong to the Federal Credit Union.

I also received a text message from 410*449-7393 telling me to call the above number. The only difference is that they said it was from American heritage FCU, which I have not had an account with in years.

For a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. For tracfone & straight talk:

For text messages: forwarding any text message spam you get to the short code  “7726,” which spells “spam” on most phones, to alert your network operator to the abuse. ATT won't accept 7726 But they will accept BLOCK and return a message that the web site is blocked. forward the texts to 7726 or BLOCK, depending on your phone carrier.

Supposedly call from TFCU about an account

Just got a text from them..."Chase Bank - ACCOUNT LOCKED - Member: (my cell number) CALL 855-277-7117"  First time ever I've received a scam in a text, as opposed to a phone call.  They're now BLOCKED.

Received text "CHASE client ID (my phone #)" and on 2nd line "CALL NOW: (855) 277-7117
I did not call as I have no Chase acct.  Phishing
