This number calls serveral times a day.  When I answere no one responds then hangs up

They have been calling my business number multiple times a day for a few days.  Today I said hello and waited ... it took awhile but finally someone asked for a name and said they were calling about a "personal business matter" ... ummm ... yeah, no.  Is it personal? Or is it business?  You are calling a business.  Anyway, I asked again who they were looking for since I couldn't seem to understand them and whenI said no such person (since I still couldn't figure out who they wanted) they hung up.

This is a message board for discussing spam and scam phone calls.  We are not calling you.  We cannot stop the calls for you.

And you'd be surprised how many people post here thinking this website called them. It happens on a daily - no, an hourly - basis. Slim was simply giving a common response to a common (misdirected) statement.

Even though I blocked this number and I'm on the  Do Not Call list, I continually get calls from this number.

I believe this is Ally Financial. I've received blind calls from this number and if I don't answer they immediately call back and it will say Cambodia. Callers have a very thick middle eastern accent. Maybe their collectors really are in Cambodia. They also use several different area codes to hide their identity and trick you into answering.

To whoever is saying this phone number is not legitimate.  It IS legitimate and it IS Ally.  I just received a call from them but didn't answer.  I googled the number and came across this forum.  When I saw the word Ally I immediately panicked because I remember turning off my auto-pay due to the fact that I was switching banks and opened a new account.  I never turned my auto-pay back on and was about 20 days late on a payment.  I immediately went in and made the payment, and I can guarantee that this number won't call again.  Just pay your bills and they'll leave you alone.
