got a call on my work phone saying this was my final notice and that they needed to verify my employer. no idea what this is about but sounds like a scam

I just got a call but I know this game well. At one point I did do a payday loan in 2012 but put it under bankruptcy. What happened is the company sold the debt to this company. This is a scam they have no legal recourse. Do not fall for it. I've been told the sheriff is coming, my wages will be garnished the whole nine. If they call you gain tell them to provide proof of the funds being deposited, they won't be able to. I even asked them what was the account number she told me she couldn't tell me I said give me the last four again told me she's mot allowed to tell me. Then I said you want my ssn but you can't tell me the account/ When you get that information we can talk. She hung up. They will bring up your workplace as well. I knew it was bad business when they game the acronym of the job I had at the time but couldn't tell me what it stood for.

Same as everyone elses comments... used an address I had 10 years ago. I asked who their client was and they couldn't tell me. Said they were sending me a summons and needed to confirm my home and work address. They have my ss # but nothing else other than phone and name. Called my local law enforcement but of course they will do nothing. Notified my bank and credit bureaus. Hopefully this sick person is locked away for ever.

Got a voice-mail from this number this morning. Stated I needed to call as this was my final notification of a claum, I was instructed to call same  number and provide address and verify employer so they can send the documents. I'm contacting the attorney general and cfpb. If this was a legitimate call they would be required by law to state "this an attempt to collect a debt."

I got the same call today stating it was a final notice on the call but I didn't call it back... I'm glad I googled the number and read these comments.. Thanks!!!!

Got the same message saying it was mark Wallace trying to collect a claim in my name and it was the finale notice they where going to verify place of employment to serve me paperwork.

I received a phone call from 855-335-0727, Mark Wallace that this was a final notice and documents were being prepared for final delivery to my home or work.  He didn't mention who he was with or where calling from or what calling about.  They called my work which is illegal.  I'm reporting them

Coastal scam.  No idea where they are located.  Call from a variety of numbers for several years now. Ignore and block any calls received from this “Coastal” group. Sometimes uses the CID of “Coastal Litigation” or Coastal Pre-litigations.

Being in ordinary civil debt is NOT a crime and you cannot be arrested for it.

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.  Tell 'em  no scammy debt collector is going to push you around.

You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking).   the only thing they understand.

RECEIVED A CALL FROM MARK WALLACE said this will serve as a final notice, they need to verify my address and employer.or i would be served. Never left the name of the company just  a number. called back 1-855-334-6252 and he answers hello. No company name. Thinking this is another Coastal Scam.

I called them back to find out about them and they said they are from CFS, that they were from Georgia, but that they don't provide their address or phone number information, and that I needed to handle the claim for a fraudulent check of $430 before it goes to court. I haven't had a checkbook in years. I told them I'm going to report them and told them not to ever call my parents or me again. I'm now going to report them for extortion and fraud to consumer protection and report identity theft to the credit agencies.
