- Lisa replies to Dianne RhodesThis happen to me today. Called on a private number. Mention that he is from Premier Bank he said to contact him back at this number xxx-xxx-xxxx with an attorney. I verify this number with Premier bank and they said that they do not call customers in a private number. This is the actual number they gave me in voice mail 8554375016.
- jknaufLeft open message on my machine, my name isn't even on my answering machine so they don't know who they are calling, that my legal counsel call them or me with the name of my lawyer by the end of the day or a decision that directly impacts me would have to be made! It was after 5:30 when they called, on a Friday.
- Caller: Comenity

- Sandy C, FLReceived call from Donna. Left this number But no extension. I tried to call back and it just kept ringing. I don't owe anyone money so it must be a scam! Based on everything I'm reading here.

- lindacalled my parents house asking for my phone number telling them I owe them money. I haven't lived with my parents in over 25 years.

- VMoneyPhone Call Phishing Scam! First they claim they are from Comenity Bank - which is a lie. They proceed to ask for my personal details to confirm my account - first they ask for address - then they ask for Date-of-Birth and Social Security. Obviously I did not give them my D.O.B & Social Sec. and hung up on them immediately. I do carry a couple of credit cards from Comenity but both are paid-off/current. I also monitor my credit religiously and I have no outstanding balances. So DON'T believe these scam artists. I'm also going to report them to the proper authorities.
- Caller: (supposedly) Comenity

- JenniferThis number calls me a dozen times a day almost they will call from started calling from a telephone number and then they started calling from the undisclosed number. Believe different messages from different managers saying I need to call back as soon as possible this is an urgent matter urgent Private Matter that needs to be taken care of and it's been brought to their attention and I need to get it cleared up they've also left several voicemails along the same lines. They will not stop calling I can't seem to even block their calls they find a way around it. I wish there was a way that we can legally press charges for people who do this drives me crazy

- Nicole| 1 replyReceiving about 8 calls per day from "Unavailable". The reason they are blocking you from knowing their number on your caller ID is because they are breaking the LAW by excessive calls. This is Comenty Bank and they are responsible for Pottery Barn and all of Pottery Barns affiliates. I have already taken a major collection agency to court. I documented all calls and my lawyer started court action against them. I was awarded $3000 because the collection agency decided to settle out of court.

- Stacy Gage| 1 replyI got a phone call from a spam number is what shows up on my ID on my phone. He left me message and said he was Mr. Geezer and an urgent matter has been put on his desk regarding me and that I needed to call him back. He said he had made a note that he has made an attempt to collect. I have had no paper documentation of the debt.
- Caller: Mr. Geezer
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- B-Edwards replies to Stacy GageGeezer probably has less paper documentation than you. This is a criminal pretending to be a debt collector. A message, no matter how threatening, is not legal notice of a debt. Best thing is to ignore the call and block that number. Calling back will only make you a target for more calls and more threats.
- SheilaGot a stern messagefor my son. Hasn't lived here for 20 years. Just another scam.

- Resident47 replies to Angie} So much for being on a DO NOT CALL list.
So much for due diligence when you submitted your numbers. Debt collectors, even the bogus ones, are for the umpteenth time not covered.
Can a debt collector call me if my number is listed on the National Do Not Call Registry? - Resident47 replies to Jenn} "stop ... calling me" ... "then pay your bill"
Typical collector logic .... Also "When morale improves the beatings will cease." The industry regulators don't put a price on quieter phones. The goons are expected to quit calling on demand. But of course the bullies don't think laws apply to them, which is why they attract so many FDCPA lawsuits. I consider the wanton peekaboo call patterns just as illegal as refusing to obey a "shut up". - Resident47 replies to Nicole} breaking the LAW by excessive calls.
That can be a difficult claim when Comenity was collecting its own accounts. Few states apply any "Fair Debt" type of statute to original creditors, and it's not easy to run those claims through the ordinary harassment laws.
I don't know what Comenity and Alliance Data are thinking when they turn on their autodialers. Every last related number thread describes a bunch of anger management patients who are one fraud attempt shy of a dime stretch in prison. How is that not going to slop dirt back onto the countless retailers whose names are on the branded swipe cards?
} I was awarded $3000 because the collection agency decided to settle out of court.
Very few have the stones for trial anyway. When you haggle past $4k their insurers get nervous. Not to say you settled cheaply, but I personally consider $3k lowball for a Federal law which is still setting 1970s prices for violations. - RPA private number has been calling me for about two weeks never leaving a message. Finally I downloaded Whoscall from the Google play store. This app has the ability to block unknown calls. With that, they finally left message. Its Comenity Bank calling to collect on one of their many retail accounts. I have an Express account that I made a scheduled payment and somehow it got overridden by a smaller additional payment I made. I called them weeks ago to ask what happened and upon doing their research found out my payments just fell out of their system. She apologized and reversed the late fee. But here they are calling to harass me. Well they finally left a me a message and I called them back. I was all to happy to chew them out over this and told them to never block their numbers if they expect me to answer.
- Caller: Comenity Bank

- Barb cCall came through as "unknown caller". Asked for my daughter by name. Said this was listed as her home number. I said she doesn't live here. Wanted her number and I said I didn't have it. She asked if I could reach her and give her a message. I said possibly. Lady said it was community bank and it was a personal matter and gave me this number to call back.
- Caller: Comenity Bank
- Haines| 1 replyThe first message I received a couple days ago did not provide a name or organization - she said she had an urgent matter to resolve with me and to call her back. The second message was from “Christine” at Calamity Bank? Requested a call back to revolve an urgent matter with my account 855-437-5016. I’ve never heard of this bank, nor do I have received any notices from them. Get a life people!
- Caller: Calamity Bank
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- Mike-in-MD replies to HainesThe actual name of the bank is Comenity but you still may not know who they are. However, if you have any store branded credit cards, they may actually be serviced by Comenity Bank. Double check all your credit cards to make sure you are not late on any payments.
- anitaMy aunt received a call from 1-855-437-5016 ext. 1225242 tell her to have me call. I don't know who these people are and I don't see any reason to be bothering my aunt with a message for me to call them.
- Caller: Community Bank
- Tunie65| 1 replyI just answered an “Unknown” caller, which I usually don’t do. The man said his name was Harry calling from Comenity Bank on a personal financial matter. I told him I would take a message and he gave me a number to call back, 1-855-437-5016, but didn’t mention any extension number. When I asked him where 855 area code was from he hung up. I have no idea what this “personal financial matter” is. Oh well, guess I won’t be contacting them back.

- BigA replies to Tunie65855, if you had read the top of the page is a toll free number and can be anywhere in the world. Comenity Bank issues branded credit cards and also cards to subprime people. This was a collection call.
