I received a call from a 'private number' which left me a voicemail.  The voicemail stated the following:  "This message is for XXXXX XXXXX, this is Jerry calling from over here at Community Capital Bank and I am calling in regards to a matter that has been submitted to my office as of April 10, 2018.  Now at this point in time I do need for you to make it a priority to return this call today.  In order to discuss the options that are still available for you.  My number is 855-437-5016 ext. 1236008."

Firstly the person they were calling for is my deceased mother.

Upon calling this number back, Jerry answered and told me he needed to talk to me about an outstanding debt.  To which I advised  him that he called about my deceased mother and provided him with her date of death (very recent mind you).  He NEVER asked for my name and never expressed any condolences for my loss; only merely stated that he would 'update their records and remove my phone number'.

I responded to him that I wanted to know as the next of kin for my mother, why he was calling and how he obtained my phone number.  To which he replied, "I told you why I was calling and that I will update our records...".  I pushed again and advised him that the number he was calling was new and that it was acquired only after my mother passed away; so again asking how did he obtain my number?

He stated that he could not talk with me about this matter and that he again would update their records.

I stated to him to add me to any 'Do Not Call' lists and that he and/or anyone from his organization (which shows online as non-solvent by the FDIC - https://www.fdic.gov/bank/individual/failed/commcapbk.html) should never call me again.

This is very apparently a SCAM, as both I did not ever provide my contact information to this entity nor did my dear mother have any accounts with them; even the credit bureau's confirm this.

Do not take calls and do not give information to people that have a complete disrespect for both the deceased and the grieving!

received voicemail from male stating I needed to return his call to discuss a matter that was turn over to him. Did not return call no debts owed.

Says I need to call or have my attorney call. Lol the lady sounds like she is crying on the message. Ok

Commenity bank issues credit for a couple hundred different retailers, catalog credit, etc.  If you have any kind of store or catalog credit card, chances are Commenity is the bank (or Synchrony).  This is the call you get when you fall behind in payments.  Typical slime collector on the phone representing that they are a 'specialist' often alluding to some affiliation with law enforcement (but be assured this is Not a law enforcement person or attorney calling you. Just some low level person paid $11 an hour to make nasty calls all day long). If you owe them money, these are the calls you will get.  Since they typically charge 30% interest on many of their cards, and many of their retailers tend to charge bloated prices for their goods (think Brylane Home as just an example of catalog and online store that bloats the price of goods and the shipping and tricks the elderly with "sales" that aren't real and gets them deep in debt for substandard goods!).  These calls are designed to get you to pay up.  So either pay them to stop the calls, or change your phone number and mailing address on the accounts to avoid them bothering you.  They will call you daily if you don't pay your accounts. But they do not have any legal authority as law enforcement and they are not attorneys. They will threaten attorney action, but what collector hasn't done that?

Well done! I received a similar scam from the same number. They ask you for a random name and when you call  back to tell them they got the wrong number, it is THEN when they ask you for all your information so that "they know who is talking and from what number". The woman didn't let me speak and was almost screaming over my voice. These are thugs, professional scammers! Beware!

Received a No Caller ID, sent to Voice mail, from Kaylee, Comenity Bank, 855-437-5016 option 1, ext 1510220, mentioned my mother's name, not sure how they go my phone number as she doesn't live with me. Needless to say, I won't be calling them back.
