I receive the pop-up on my computer, I couldn't get rid of it, so called the number. I realized it was a scam, gave them nothing and hung up. Do they have to gain access or is my computer still at risk? I ran my Webroot security scan and it showed nothing.

These people from India also use the number 888-631-1252.
My elderly father in law is always getting scammed, I can't get him to understand that this world is full of conns and to NEVER ever ever ever respond to emails, click on pop ups, etc....  he called me and my husband saying that something was wrong with his new laptop, that there was a virus and he couldn't do anything with it. We went to his house immediately and there was the pop up with the #855-442-2935. He said that he already called the  guy and that he was helping him right now with the problem because he was from microsoft. I started fuming, I asked if let this guy in his comp and he said yes, so we shut the comp down and took the battery out. We immediately get a call from 855-442-2935. The guy asks what happened and i took the phone and asked who it was. He said he was talking to someone else and I said "yes, my father in law and now ur dealing with me",,,"what company do you work for and what is your tech #" He got irate with me and said he was not dealing with me, I told him to crawl back under his lil desk in India and next time he might want to practice his english better. He tried to talk over me and I simply raised my voice back and told him that his game was up and he wasn't going to get any money out of this guy. I hung up and tried to once again explain that people are going to come at you every which way.
God, I wish there was a way to protect him and the elderly because they truly don't understand all the dangers and wolves out there.
Any way,,,,,,,, India (prob. all in one room, waiting to see who will bite first), They tell people that they are from Microsoft and that they can fix this for $250.00. When you say know, they tell you that they will help fix it and would discuss payment later, thus getting people to allow them remote access.

Warnings on my computer said I have been hacked and to call this number.  They sounded legit but after talking to other IT people found that their products are not needed if you have MacAfee or Norton.  Their price for service they offer is extremely high.  Appears that they use "Scareware" to prey on unsophisticated people.

I got a security warning on my computer saying I had malware & adware & to call 1-855-442-2935 immediately. Normally I would check it out beforehand but in a weak moment I called. The guy said he worked for Microsoft & he would help me fix it. The more I talked to the guy the more I felt something wasnt right. However, by the time I realized it he had already gained access to my computer. Then, because I wasnt able to do what he was asking me to, he started yelling at me, basically called me stupid & had me in tears. I ended the call, shut down the computer & unplugged it. I took it to Staples & found out it was infected with a whole bunch of viruses & malware. He tried at some point to "sell" me anti virus software for 499.00 but when I told him no he started yelling & said I was trying to get something for nothing & that I was trying to rip them off. What the heck. These guys are good at their scam & very convincing at first. I will never ever ever let anyone do that again. Something needs to be done or they will just continue to prey on innocent, non technical people, like me.

Received a pop-up warning on my computer from "Microsoft" at about 1:15AM. It blocked my X buttons from working and warned of irreparable damage to my computer if it was shut off. The warning looked official and said to call 1 855 912 6101. The woman, Moirangthem Reema, had an Indian accent. She tried to get me to spend $399.99 for two year, $499.99 for 3 year or $599.99 for 5 year to replace drivers, remove viruses and monthly services to my computer. She said they were Affiliated with Microsoft and did their hardware and software replacement work. When the call was interrupted, she called back from1-855-442-2935. I told her HELL NO and hung up. The only way I could turn off my computer was by unplugging it. When I started it back up it appeared normal. I am running a full antivirus scan now.

It is an Internet Security company called Systheal. They try to sell you internet security for $350. a year. If you buy the product for 1 year ($350.) they will be calling you in another 6 months time telling you that you have all these Trojans and that it will cost you $350. to install different programs. I quit their company and went with another company. This company is in India and they use the phone number to make it look like an American company.

Pop-up ad tells you to call this number and talk to a Microsoft tech to assist you with removal of viruses or spyware. This is a Fake Spam, and they will charge you hundreds of dollars to fix your computer.

Received call from this number.  Woman with thick Indian accent claimed to be calling from Microsoft technical support. Lot's of noise in background; sounds like that of Telemarketing place.
