I received a call as well and of course no message was left. So I called them back on my cell phone and the message I received stated that the "Caller was not available and the voice mail box was full" so I am chocking this one up to being some type of scam.

Said they were from Microsoft Research . Sounds like a scam. I hung up.

This is the same old Microsoft Research scam call. Vaguely foreign accent, 'your computer is reporting errors to us at Microsoft', blah blah blah. They'll want you to download a sharing program to your computer, then they'll take control of your computer and demand $$ by credit card to 'fix' your problems. If you don't comply, they'll pretty much destroy your Windows configuration. Nice.

Any cal at 1:00 a.m. same scam as while  back. never a good thing. How do they get our cell #s?

Every phone number in the US is 10 digits.  The scammers use robo-dialers to call every 10-digit combination, hoping to bumble across someone dumb enough to fall for the scam.

They call during normal sleeping hours because a lot of people are dumber than normal when something wakes them in the middle of the night.  Congratulations on being smart and not falling for the scam.

I received a call JUST NOW! foreign accent,Says he was from Microsoft and my computer is infected wanted me to give him some information off of my computer,i laughed at him and rudely told him to go f@#$ himself...

Rats.  I picked up and hung up because I didn't recognize the number.  I so want to talk to these guys.

I got a call from this number, he said it was Windows but I'm pretty shur it wasn't because he couldn't speak English right.

This is the conversation I had with the [***] that called me from this number.

Me: Greg Speaking.
Caller: Ah, yes, I'm calling to help fix your computer.
Me: Huh? Which one?
Caller: Your home computer, It has a virus.
Me: Again, which one, I have like 20 computers at my house.
Caller: The one I'm logged into,..
Me: Ohhhh reeeally?, If that's the case, then what OS I'm I running on the system your on?
Caller: Umm, It's running Windows.
Me: Haa, your funny, what's the IP?
Caller: Huh, what do you mean?
Me: If your on one of my Windows systems, prove it, What's the IP address, PC name, and MAC address.
Caller: Huh?,...
Me: Open a command prompt and type in "ipconfig /all", tell me what the MAC address is of the system your on.
Caller: Listen, I'm on your computer and I'm helping you fix your virus,.. (He's getting mad at this point)
Me: That's funny, cause I just remote'd into my server and I'm checking the WAN traffic logs, I don't see any suspect traffic.
     You see, I have a server that does deep packet inspections, you know what that means right?
Caller: {Click}

The [***] hung up on me.

This number called me claiming to help with micro soft but wanted access my computer!

If we were all Tech savvy and educated as you then these people would never attempt these scams.

I got a call and the foreign voice said it was from Microsoft. Scam

Caller said he was from Microsoft then when I told him I have a apple he said that he had been stalking me for months and would I like to party

Got a call today from this number, automated voicemail was left stating they are an IRS agent that suspects tax fraud. The poor syntax gave this away as a fraud.

I got the call too. Heavy foriegn  accent and said he was IRS and I said I didn't believe him and he said I was rude for speaking to am officer of the IRS the way I was!! I said I can't understand you and I said I think you are a scammer and he hung up on me!!!
