- VictorThere were two harassing and threatening calls from this number.
- Felicia| 3 repliesI received one threatening call yesterday (Feb. 5, 2015) directing me to call this number-- (855) 651-0912
- Caller: Portfolio Management
- nicole| 1 replyMessage left saying there was a case going to be filed under my name and SSN, said she was calling from the Liason Office of Business Management (as if there is such a thing with a total generic name). Was directed to call the number back. I don't effing think so.
- Caller: Business Management
- Call type: Prank
- Nik replies to nicoleI received the same message today and will not be calling them back. She said she received a fax from Liaison Business Management and did give me the last four digits of my social security number. Any debt I had has been paid and this sounds like the scammers who got information from the pay day loan I did well over 5 years ago.
- Theresa Ban replies to Felicia| 2 repliesI received a call from an unknown number and attempted to harrass me by stating they were authorized to serve papers to my home and/or work and asked if I'm available. I said no we'll you need to call this number with a case. I called the 855-651-0912 number and it sounds like the same woman who spoken to me from the unknown number and with an attitude because of the name I gave her and she said she couldn't understand me. So she hung up. This is a total scam because when I called back and pressed 1 to reach a rep, it was the same woman and said we got disconnected. And I told her if you're such a business, than maybe try to get better phone services before begging for something from someone else.
- chrimsonfyreI got this voicemail today from an unknown number as well. Saying they are going to serve me with papers at my work or home, for legal issues involving social ending in XXXX. I need to call 855-651-0912 with a case number to verify information. I get about one of these a month. If someone was serving you with papers, they do not call you first, you get certified mail or hand delivered with a signature. This is a scam.
- Not HappyScam call stating were going to serve papers on claim number xxxx from Portfolio Business Mngmnt.....total scam/prank - don't deal with them
- Caller: Portfolio Business Management
- catlover| 2 repliesMy mom who is on disability is getting these calls. I told her its a scam but it still upsets her any ideas, how i can stop them from calling and upsetting her. These pepole dont care about elderly or disabled
- Tamianth replies to catloverThey can not touch her disability. Your best bet, is to get her a call blocking device or phone. If this is Portfolio as indicated in some of the posts above, then they have a mega bad history and tons of lawsuits against them for FDCPA violations.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans
Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010 FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691
The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.
According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.
The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers. - CWG40ID themselves as Portfolio Business Management. - sly replies to Theresa BanYour right got the same call. The woman that left voice mail for me to call 855-651-0912 is the same voice that answered when I called. Except the first name she gave was Nichole Glover and that she was going to serve me papers. The woman they connected me with when I called had the same voice but the name she gave was Kathy Bronson. Same voice on the voice mail. She said they were collecting on a payday loan from 2005. She asked if I got papers. I said no. I asked about payments. She said let me call the client. So about 3 minutes later we could settle for an amount. But had to pay it right then. If not the client would take paying on it monthly for about $400 more. So I asked if she would send me some kind of papers in the mail she said yes I would get the agreement in about 5 days. But she needed a card on file for the 1st payment. I called the courthouse to see if anything was filed they said the have nothing on file. Found out company's buy old debts and try to make you pay then they will sell it to another company and so forth and so forth. Scam

Also contact your local attorney general
If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them.

- D EI was contacted to pay a payday loan by an aggressive lady who became obnoxious once I started asking questions. I do not have any unpaid loans and to be notified was really unbelievable . I felt that this was a scam and I will be looking into this matter on a deeper basis to get to the bottom of it. I will be forwarding a letter to my attorney general against this type of scamming business.
