SCAM and now, the question remains whether I call back and mess with them

Call came in looking like a local number, did not answer. Voicemail was a robo-call with a reference number and the same 855-705-0440 to call back for an important matter to resolve. No professional company information.

I really appreciate the information without having to pay some obscure website to find out what this was about.  It's difficult to believe that a legit debt collector would fail to identify their company.  I am grateful to those who took the time to post a comment to help the rest of us.  Thank you!

Same as others are saying. It was a recording say they had a claim on me. And same number to call back. #8557050440

Call came from a local number, i live in maryland.  It actually made my phone malfunction.  I was on a zoom call.  Listened to the voicemail.  It was a robo call saying there was a file in their office for me and they will pursue legal options available in my state.  Call back 855-705-0440.

I called the number back and I was advised I took a cash advance in 2014 for $600. but I advised them at that time that I was in prison. She hung up quite abruptly. This was a stupid call whoever this company is.

Gave no identifying info. for the company/caller.  Sounded like a robocaller, with different prerecorded voices patched together.  Gave a reference number, but no clue as to what was being referenced.  Also, they called my Google Voice number, which is not attached to any accounts, current or past.  Definitely a scam.

I get calls from them once or twice a week.  An automated machine comes on and states my name.  Then another automated machine comes on and says they are pursuing a legal matter with my name on it.  DO NOT CALL BACK!  SCAMMERS!

I called the local # that was used to contact me but left an 855 # and they claimed to be Bratley& Winestein Collection agency..but still a scam acting like outfit..and when not willing to give my name or confirm. my ID they or he hung up on me. Thanks for your info.

The local number guy claims they're Bratley & Weinstein collections from Wilmington, NC..I doubt its more than a two person scam shop.

Some other number called with a robo recording, saying to call this number (855-705-0440) for my "time-sensitive case" because they "are pursuing a legal matter" with my name in it. The funny thing was, they called me looking for my husband, who died 4 years ago! So when I called, they kept asking if he was there; I told them, I'm his wife, what do you want? "We're trying to speak to him directly." That's when I yelled at them about him being dead and to lose my number, and hung up. These people don't really know who they're calling. They're just calling from random phone number lists that they've bought or rented. Don't pick up or bother answering. They're representatives in another country anyways - scammers!

Same experience. Called with automated voice, only stating file number. Legitimate companies actually send correspondence in the making and most importantly, they give details on the name of the company.

recorded message stating that call was time sensitive and that they are pursuing an extremely serious legal matter. No name or company name. gave a reference number and repeated phone number.
