    Received a call from a processor Doug Roberts at my place of employment... Called the number 855-707-1500 back and spoke with Don Finelling (who sounds exactly like Doug Roberts).. He told me that I owe a payday loan from September 2012 going into a bank account that was closed 2 years ago... I asked what state he was in 5 times and would not answer.. Also would not provide me with documentation from who the loan was from or my bank.. Told me they sent letters to my home address.  When he read off the address, I advised him that I did not leave there in over 10 years... He was very rude and would not let me get a word in edge wise.. I tried to ask questions so I could understand what he was talking about and he would just keep talking... I am unable to find any company called Goldberg Sloan and Associates..

    I am getting the same exact calls.  However, I was out of my office the last 2 weeks and they called my office and were very rude to fellow employees talking about serving me and stuff and wanted to know where I was.  I could get fired. When I call back I just get answering machines and no one ever calls me back.  Goldberg, Sloan & Associates and I can't find them anywhere online.  THe girl that is calling says her name so fast I cannot understand it and she doesn't say what it is in reference to.  I am tired of it.

    I have received calls from this number with a man's voice saying that a decision needs to made immediately and I need to call back immediately before they decide for me.  It is crazy to call and leave those messages.  The law office of Goldberg, Sloan & Associates does not exit.  Can't find it anywhere. or even the number.  There are too many scams going on.   If you got the info why call?

    I received a call from Investigator Marshall Davis from the Filing Division clerk office who left a message saying that he was going to serve me on Monday at my employer between 11AM and 5PM and that I needed to call immediately to stop from him coming to my employer to serve me.  He told me to call 855-707-1500 which I did and it is Goldberg Sloan and Associates. I am guessing it's a scam.  I do not understand why would some people play with others emotions. I got scared but then read the messages and agree that it is a scam.

    The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

    •is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
    •refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
    •asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
    •exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

    If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

    •Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
    If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.•Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
    •Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
    •Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
    •Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

    I have just submitted my own experience with this guy - same thing - same time - between 11 - 5 p.m.Whenever I get a call of this nature and they are out there, I always pull up google and go from there, yes they have been very busy people - perhaps if they did something honest they might be happier.  Please - whenever you get a call like this- please go in and pull up google, type in the name of the company or agency or phone number and ask fraud or real.  It comes up every time. Honest businesses do not do business this way.

    Scammed????? replies to Linda
    I too received a call from "Tim Kennedy" - I called the number and someone did call me back at my job, which is not the number I left, and left a voice mail with an ext.  I returned call and got a voice mail - I told them I did not know who they were and if they were trying to collect a debt (I don't owe any money) to please put in in writing and send it to me via mail and I will tend to it.  They called back and left a voice message that they cannot do it via mail it has to be done over the phone - SCREAMS SCAM - any legitimate business or claim would send it to you with all info.  The person who has been calling is a John Morgan.  As for someone coming to your job, they are not going to fore warn you so you can skip out.  Are people really this guillable?  I checked with my county clerk's office and they never heard of Tim Kennedy.  What does that tell you?

    I got this call today.  When searching this, i see that under 855-717-1501, there are the exact same sort of messages but a few people mentioning that they really did owe old debt to Ace Cash Express.  I do actually owe debt to them from years ago, so I am not entirely inclined to think this is completely fake.

    Tomorrow I will contact Ace directly and find out the number of who I should call.  It may be these people, maybe not.  I will let you know what I find out.  Perhaps I can even get this old debt off my back.

    It doesn't matter if people DO owe money - per the FDCPA, they should NOT pay unless they receive proof of debt and proof that the caller has the legal right to collect said debt.  If someone is called and they do owe money, I agree that they should call the original owners of the debt to find out if they still own the account.  That does not excuse refusal to abide by debt collection laws, however.

    I don't disagree.  Nor do I think people should act quite so shady.  If they were upfront about who they are and not trying to scare people, they would likely run across more people who are willing to work with them.  I don't know what I'll find out tomorrow when i call Ace, but we'll see.  I am not going to pay until I see something that shows that these are the right people I should be paying.

    Buffalo, NY they leave a message the guy says his name is Paul Crew from Golberg Sloan and associates! Sometimes they call 3-4 a week or twice a day, then I won't here anything from them for a week or 2. It's been going on forever they left a message the other day saying they were gonna come by my job on Monday the 27th with cops and serve and arrest me(not the first time they've said this). Needless to say no one ever showed up and considering there calling me from buffalo NY and I live in NC I haven't lived in NY in almost 15 years! Does anyone know who these people are what they want or how to get rid of them?? B
