I received a call from a guy named David Kraft stating he was from Legal Advocate Services and he stated I had to go to court on April 25, 2014, in New Jersey.  He gave me a court number and name of judge.  He also stated Goldberg Sloan Associates is the company suing me and their number 855-707-1500.  After looking up there is no company with that listing.  I called the courts and found out everything this company told me was a liar; there was no judge by the name of Judge Egan and no court room number 105.  I called the 855-707-1500 and I spoke with a guy by the name of Mr. Rubin and he stated it was a payday loan that I did not have and that it was an account that has been closed for a couple of years.

I received that call from Christina (716) 748-7630 from the same law firm as everyone posting 855-707-1500 Goldberg, Sloan Associates.  This is a scam because they have been giving out false information stating I have to appear in court on April 25, 2014, room 105, Judge Egan.  First, there is no room 105 in the courthouse in New Jersey and there is no Judge by the name of Egan.  I spoke with the courts and they verified all of this information that it was false information.  I told the guy that I was going to call the courts and he stated they would not have that information until roll call that morning.  After speaking with the courts they explained this was a scam.  Please be careful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"The right people [you] should be paying" are those who treat you fairly and honestly. Good luck finding them in the crooked world of PDL collection. An agency which jerks you around, abuses you, or denies any other rights should not be rewarded with your money, end of story. If anything, they should pay *you* if you're able to corner the thugs and sue. That is the point of the FDCPA some of us so often make.

Calling Ace Cash Express will not verify the debt or the collector's claim and it won't make the sins of its hired guns magically legal. Ace may be out of this loop altogether, in fact. The FDCPA grants you a specific dispute process and the right to a quieter phone. Learn to use it.

After months of getting calls from these knuckleheads, even submitting a claim with the CFPB which went absolutely nowhere.  I was able to track these people to Fidelis Assets Management in Virginia Beach aka Kinum Inc.  They got greedy with their phone calls and I even scared the lady when I called "Goldberg, Sloan, and Associates" back and asked if they were Fidelis Assets Management.

Apparently they used to be based out of Buffalo, New York until they were bought around November 2012 by a Virginia Beach collection company but kept the same name ( http://fideliscollections.com/).  Nowadays they also go by the name of Kinum, Inc as well.  If you look at Kinum, Inc's website (http://www.kinum.com) they claim to use "innovative" tactics to get people to call back.  Wonder if using these "innovative" tactics means harassing a person's friends, family, and employer.

I was able to track them which was a big relief for myself. Fidelis and Kinum were started by some folks who have been in the collection industry for more than 20 years including Bruce Klinger (google Bruce Klinger Virginia Beach), Bruce even came out on NBC news claiming that his company uses legitimate tactics, legitimate my a*%,  another culprit is Sharon Park (google Sharon Park in Miami), another culprit is Rick Rainho in Salt Lake City (apparently he's been helping Kinum grow with their "innovative" tactics.

Kinum has been aggressively incorporating in states across the United States however all roads lead back to Virginia Beach.

Now we can all sue them for their harassment and violations of the FDCPA.  Also let the CFPB know as well as your state attorney generals.

For those talking garbage about "people who don't want to pay back their pay-day loans and Kinum having every right to call them".... How about those of us who have never taken a loan and have paid every bill we've ever received?

Wanna tell me why this company has "the right" to bother me?

When I answered the phone and heard "no one is available to take you call. Please hold", I knew it was going to be fun. Yes I got nasty with the woman who came on the line. She reminded me that the call was being recorded. Told her I didn't care what she recorded. She called me. I didn't call them. So when she asked if "so and so was available", it was a simple "no" and I hung up.

So, don't bother with the whole "debt collectors just doing their job and they have the right to call." Because if they were actually "doing their job" I can assure you they wouldn't be calling someone who has never missed paying a bill.

I can find no link between Goldberg, Sloan and Associates and Fidelis Asset Management or Kinum, Inc.  However, this is what I have found out about Kinum and Fidelis:
BBB Page for Fidelis lists a NY address which there is an alert out because the BBB could not contact them at that address: http://www.bbb.org/upstate-new-york/business- ... ca-ny-201214723
Fidelis lists an address in Virginia:  http://fideliscollections.com/contact-us/  which also happens to be a UPS store:  https://www.google.com/maps/@36.759828,-76.00 ... -ew!2e0!6m1!1e1        &   note the same suite # at the UPS store on their page:  http://virginiabeach-va-4809.theupsstorelocal.com/
The BBB page list Kinum at the same address as Fidelis in VA.:  http://www.bbb.org/norfolk/business-reviews/c ... ach-va-90063234

However Kinum Lists a Utah address:  http://kinum.com/contact-us/
Which happens to be a company called Base Camp Franchising:  https://www.google.com/maps/@40.765421,-111.8 ... n08NWavCb4g!2e0

Yeah, I apologize for that. I googled "Kinum", not the phone number. This thread came up. I posted my thing. THEN I realized it was a thread about that "Goldman..." Company.

The whole reason erasers were put on the end of pencils was because no one is perfect and everyone makes mistakes.  No harm, no foul.  I did come up with some interesting information on both companies thanks to you.

I just got called from this number wanting to book my timeshare wks. Wanted $$ from me. Said they needed wks for conferences being booked. I said no thank you. I just got scammed, lost 5,000 trying to sell my timeshare. I would report number, but its been disconnected. What makes me mad is they had ALL my info that only the timeshare people should have. Guess who's getting an ear full tomorrow.

The fact that you were scammed before makes you at very high risk to (try to) be scammed again. The tell-tale markings of this scam is a request for you to send them money. The Seller paying the buyer (renter)? Doesn't make sense, does it? That's the point.

I got a call from this company yesterday (Resort Travelers International Inc (RTI)) with the same spiel.  Spoke to Robert Shuler (352) 229-8660 (his direct line)  The first person couldn't answer a basic question and transferred me to him.  They are guaranteeing $1800 p/rental week in rent (stating I have 4 weeks available to rent) for a total of $7200 which I would received within 60-90 days from "registering".  The registration fees were either going to be $1199 ($299 p/rental week) for a 1 year plan or $1899 for a 5 year plan to be paid up front for them to "Feature" your weeks on their website.  Sounds to good to be true and I can't find much info on this company.

What I have found was that they are fairly new.  Website resorttravelers.com was registered in April 2014 and the main image of the girl on the beach was very poorly photoshopped (as you can tell be her toe-less feet and the fact she is mid-air).  Their business name is registered in FL, but their annual report had no information on it.

I am going to pass on this offer as it seems fishy and $1800 p/rental week seem to good to be true.

Just got a similar call from Resort Traveler's International, and was handed off to "Jason" for more details.  He also said that I have 4 unlimited bonus weeks from Interval International in conjunction with my Marriott vacation club points.  He said I'd get $1790 a week for each of the weeks, and it would "only" cost me $1500 in fees.  What is really of interest is that the phone # they called from (352-350-1578) is identified with Tri County Pulmonary at The Villages in Lady Lake, Florida!

Said they wanted to purchase my RCI weeks to use for corporate incentives. They had my husbands name and cell phone number but our RCI membership is in my name with my number (I had it before we married). Makes me wonder if they knew RCI mail was delivered to our address, checked the address and got his name (he lived here before we married). Not sure how they got his cell phone number. I don't plan to call them back, not that I wouldn't consider selling a week of RCI but when they call me, I am very skeptical.
