They leave an intimidating message, but it is obviously something fishi

I received a call, and pretended I wasnt here. Took down their number to pass on to the person being called. They told me they could not give me the reason for their call. I checked on the internet and found this number reported on your site.
DO NOT RECEIVE OR ANSWER ANY CALL FROM THIS NUMBER

Just got a call from them telling me I had 72 hrs to respond or they are authorized to take further action.  I thought somebody was suing me until i looked it up on here and found that i am not alone.

Just received a message from 855-771-6020 saying I had 72 hrs to respond to a non-compliance issue otherwise they will make a decision detremental to me.  They quoted a file number and that was it. No other information.

Interesting...good to know. I got the exact same message. Definitely sounds fishy.

we got the same exact message. saying that we have 72 hrs to repsond or they will consider non responsive and will make a decision detremental to us. didnt leave a name for anyone in perticular just said that msg and then left this number and hung up.

i got it as well, came up as unknown name/number  so i tried calling back..  busy signal.. funny how that is.. so glad its nothing now..   and that isearched up info first and found this ..  google didnt even come up with this page.. weitrd

i got this call  a few days earlier, and just tried calling it back.. got a busy signal, did a google search and got a tonne of chinese/japanese writing. then on yahoo  got the  website for this site and the info the others got.. glad i searched and know my own debt well to not take anything seriuosly..

mailed letter saying 24hr notice to pay used pay phone and nobody answered i was to leave my number .operator had to connect to number tried few time myself always rang busy .dont answer unknown callers and they dont leave messages just a number to call back.left an ext and he was never in office3timestrying to get my number

I got the same call for last week.  72 hours notice or they are taking action.  it sounds like they are suing me or some horrible.  One lady says the first name and a man says the last name.  Call 855 771 6020.   There is no identification of who it is or even the number they are calling from.  comes up Long distance.

Yes I just got the call to day from this number. My nanny answered and they said that I had to call tomorrow by 9:55am or I was going to be in a lot of trouble... So I was what the crap. So I called it tonight when I got home. They are called Financial Debt Recovery Ltd. Which is completly odd. Because I know my credit and I keep up to date on all my bills... So I am now quite interested on who I am oweing money too... Because last time I checked 2 weeks ago all my bills were paid!!

I got this call some months back telling me they had bought an old bad debt of mine from Wells Fargo.  I knew I didn't have anything outstanding but itwas over 10 years old and I don't have the records and they kept calling and I kept saying "send me something in writing" which they of course never could.  Now they are using this tactic and I'm ignoring them because I know it's bogus.  They are a company that buys up old bad debts.  Funny thing is that I recently ran my credit bureau due to some  fraudulant activity and when Id id, I found the old Wells Fargo cc, which reported paid off as agreed, no delinquency.  I considered telling them this, but I think rather it's best I don't call them back.

So funny, because while their message makes it seem as though there is some kind of legal issue, they fail to provide any of the information they would HAVE TO LEAVE if it really were a legal issue. Who is calling? Who is the call intended for? What is the legal matter the message pertains to?

If the call is coming from a legitimate business, they are utilizing illegal methods to accomplish their goal.

Just got the call today and said is not a marketing call and will have legal action and try to help me blah blah blah... not able to get the "reference number" but able to get this phone number 1-855-771-6020.

I know I always paid on time and not owe anything.  Also, I just get my phone number like 2 months.  

So stupid.

Got the same call this morning fr.1-855-771-6020 ' sound's like a scam  , something called ( phishing )  legit companies will never make house calls  ....

It looks like computer generated call from (416) 360-1936 and they ordered me to call within 72 hrs 1855-771-6020 and if I failed to do so the case will go ahead without my input by mentioning some file number which I think they made it up. That is why I am not returning their call and wait and see what happens next.

Finacial debt recovery, like someone said here that they recover old debt. i believe law states anything after 7 years of not being paid off is erased , but with FDR if they can get you to admit to the unpaid debt then the file can be reopened. they called me from an unknown number and wanted my bday and other personal information, i told them they could be indenity theft criminals and they arent getting anything. If your voicemail doesnt state your name they wont leave a message. found that out myself lol.. numbers they call from are, 1-855-771-6020, 1-800-763-3328 and blocked are the only three they called me from. i found this information out from talking to them then googled and found thier website.
