Sounds like a scam.

Have had two calls from these people. Today they were letting us know they would serve summons on Mon between 9 & 4....would anyone be home? I said I work and could possibly but dont usually get home til after. They leave a  number for me to call and reschedule time for delivery.  DUH!!!!!!  Its for a friend...but weve gotten these calls before....and tho I called the number and its a law office....its out of state.  We have no debts and one past debt he had.....he paid.  This gets really frustrating!

Called back and Im being told I am being sued for a debt that has passed the statute of limitations.  Guy on the phone got very angry when I told him I was calling my attorney.

Claimed to be an attorney's office Rubin, Weissman & Associates calling from 18558118259. They told me that I am being sued for a civil matter and threatened to send papers. They don't give the address where they are sending documents. They couldn't verify any information such as who is suing and why. I told them that my attorney wanted to speak to them. Their attorneys do not speak to anyone. They wouldn't provide an address for their "law firm" which is not listed on the internet and was told to communicate via fax 18886328143. The "case manager" I was speaking to also hung up on me when I told him I was calling my attorney. He sounded illiterate. I will report this number as a scam. They could not verify their identity.

this is a scam! they didn't verify onething! just ignore the call or report as a scam

Does anyone know the address of this company? My Mother is elderly and has the beginning of alzheimers and they continue to call her. She is so upset that this is all she can talk about, she thinks that I'm in big trouble and that I'm going to be arrested.  I have called these people and told them what they are doing, ask them to stop  they were placing my Mother in harm and they continue to call her.  I have called and spoke with Mr. Jackson and gave him my address and phone number and he continues to call my Mother. Please help if anyone knows this companys address or has any advice.

This number 855-811-8259 contines to call and harrass my family even after I have asked them to stop. This company continues to call my Mom, I called them again, they are saying this is a bad debt with Lord and Taylor, I had an account with Lord and Taylor in 1997 and it is paid in full and a good account on my credit report.  I phoned the telephone company to see if they could do anything and they told me to call the police, My Mother lives in a very small town and the Police have time to pay attention to this type of complaint.The officer told me that this is a Scam and they target elderly people. I understand they are cleaning up in elderly communities claiming that peoples children and grandchildren are in trouble. The Police told me that they are usually overseas so nothing can be done. Just wanted to share this information in case its happening to anyone else. Its a shame that people can be so terrible to take advantage of an  elderly personaI also understand that with an 855 number they receive the first 100 minutes free and then they are charged for every minute that is used after that, so my though is I will call every 15 minutes today LOL this is why they hang up on you and in my case I have been told that I'm not allowed to call the office anymore after a few choice words.  So lets keep those calls going to 855-811-8259!!!!!!

Called the phone company and they're not too happy about this. There is another number associated with this one: (213) 260-9483. They blocked both numbers. What they're doing is calling on behalf of  RW Associates and never say your name directly. They do seem very illiterate when they call. Phone company is filing a harassment claim against this number. When you do a bit of digging into them they WILL reveal the name they are "looking" for. In my case the number they had was wrong yet they continue to harass me. End result: May have to change phone number.

I have received 4 phone calls from these exact phone numbers listed in this forum. The very rude lady who answers the phone by only saying "case number" wanted my last 4 digits of my social to verify me. Well after I refused she told me that I would have to wait for the information to come in the mail or call back when I felt like verifing who I am by giving my last four of social. I found this page listed about the phone calls and I phoned her back and told her I know that they are a scam and not to phone me again or I will press charges. She said thats not what they do and hung up on me. I phoned back and told her I will call you everyday that you call me and I will bother you the same as you have me so dont call me again. She said she didnt mind if I called her because thats what she gets paid to do. I said yes you get paid to try and scam people. If a court document needs to be sent to a person it will go through your last known address with the DMV and post office. There is no need to verify any personal information to people on the phone. This needs to stop

Tell him/her that it's none of their business whether you and Smith and Wesson are home.  There have been cases where potential burgulars use this method to scout out a home.
Besides that,  even if it was someone claiming to serve "PAPERS",   you don't have to give them  Jack...
it's  totally stupid that They expect you to do all the leg work for them.... I guess....

They keep harrasing my wife because she wont verify her social security #. when you call them they just get madd and hang up. Its a total scam and the need to stopped.

Well they continue to call my Mother on a daily basis, My sister decided to start calling them, the rude lady that everyone has had a converstation told my sister that they are calling my Mother on a daily basis and will continue to call her EVERYDAY!!!!! Then she was passed to a man, he denies that he has ever called my Mom, they are now saying that my Mom calls them everyday LOL can this get any better?? Yes it can, my sister said "let me give you my number and address so you can call me" he said he did not need it he already had my number and address and told her what it was. By law if you do have a bad debt once they receive your number they are not allowed to speak to anyone but you. By the way she also while talking to my sister made the comment that she likes my posts that I'm putting out so they do read this web site.  I have contacted the Attorney Generals office, I also took the advice of the person who is under Stop the Calls on this site and reported it to the do not call registry, I have been told that this will eventually block the caller.  I have also called the Sheriffs dept. in my Mothers home town and spoke to the Sheriff to find (you will love this one) they have even called two of their officers while they are at work and tried to pull the samething on them.  From what I understand they purchase the number and run it over sea's and back so that it can't be traced. So Lady (NOT) on the other end of the phone that is reading my post I hope you realize that you will be paid back in the end, you must be a souless person to make a living praying off the elderly!!!!!  You will be caught one day. Think I will call her and let her know I have a new post for her to read. Oh and by the way any negative post that is made following our message to inform the public is by RW and Assoc.

Well she just called, now I'm receiving threats on my Mother!!!!! ask me how my Mother was, when I responded fine, she told me NOT FOR LONG!!!!

Barb,  sounds like the [***] has moved on to deliberate harassment.  I'd make sure that the police knew that she threatend your mothers well being.

Do Not verify you SS # I have been told by the authorities that they will use it to pull bank fraud and Credit Card fraud.  I was able to trace this number 1/2 way it bounces off a tower in Rawalpindi Pakastan.

My father in law recieved a call from this numer today saying there was a court date set for Monday October 13th 2012 ( which is tomorrow Saturday ) for my my husband but the caller would not give out any other info such as where they are located, where the so called court is, his name or anything. They did however mention my brother in law by name and that they knew where he was living.
When I called the number we were given it gave a Law Firms Name of Rubin, Weisman & Associates but of course no one answered, so when I did a phone number reverse look up I got a list of complaints showing this number.
