this person claims to be a legitimate company who is claiming that i have a bounced check and will have to go to court to solve the issue unless i want to take care of it right now over  the phone. The only problem is that  i havent had a bank account in 12 years and i know precisly that i do not have any judgements as i have contacted my local county attourney to confirm i have no active warrents and or hot checks undermy name.Im pretty sure that these people bought my info from another scammer and are trying to cheat people who the deem a "sucker"please note this phone number and business name as a scam

This number called me this morning claiming to be American Asset Recovery. I have seen over 20 complaints online about this number. It is a scam! Do not give them any information. If you really owe a debt as they say, then they can validate that debt first and go about this in a more professional way. My Attorney said that this is harassment, and I can sue them for 1000.00 when they threaten me with any kind of action. here is a nice trick when speaking to them. Ask them what they are going to do if you do not pay. Get them to threaten you in some way. Document the time of the call and what was said along with the date.
Then you will have grounds for suing them for 1000.00. Contact a legal attorney company that deals with debt collector harassment.  They will give you all of the details. There are many good ones out there. It is also free to file the lawsuit in most cases. Put a stop to these scammers! Have a nice day.....

Got two calls/recorded messages from "Davis Luiston" of American Asset Recovery. Gave me a case number and told me to call this number to resolve the issue. I called and it was really weird. The guy clammed up on me every time I asked questions.

I had a call from this number recorded. Said he was David Lewiston of American Asset Recovery, gave me a case number for someone named Robert couldn't understand the last name. Of course  this is a scam according to the Fair Debt Collection Act  collectors can NOT give anybody's information out. I work for a company that makes collection calls so I do know this. Also there is no Robert here. When I called the number a recording said I'm sorry no one available to take my call.

My mom called me saying this company was looking for my sister for bounced checks back in 2007. I called the number and was sent to a Thomas delany. He then said if.I didn't give out her information that I would be held in contempt for obstruction of justice. Thing is she has nothing on her record for any bounced checks and it was verified through the clerks office. I then called back and was transferred to the same Thomas delany and told him how I knew it was a scam...again threats of obstruction of justice were thrown out then he preceeding to calling me an idiot 3 times and telling me to [***] my mother. My olds sister is a cop and now sh has both phone numbers and names. This number and company is a scam they are trying to lure people with false claims to give up thier credit card information.

I blocked this number using *60. This is a service that I have through my  Charter bundle pack. I just keep blocking any numbers that come through that I do not recognize. This way I do not have to deal with these scammers. If anyone has Charter for their phone service, I would recommend in calling them and using the *60 feature. It is so peaceful in the mornings not having these idiots trying to calling me.

Was receiving a call once a week, I finally called them back and told them no one by the name they called for had lived here in over 6 years and to please stop calling this number.  Told him to find a better number.  He, David, hung up on me.  So much for customer service.
They will keep on calling in hopes of wearing you down.  People be careful, protect yourself.

If you have elderly family members, don't let them and yourself  become a victim of these scammers.

Also, I would think if you had an Outstanding debt, it would be on your credit report!!

I'm glad I went online after receiving a message by phone from David at American Asset Recovery.  He was calling about my niece.  Gave me a claim number and told me that I am a person of interest.  Why am I a person of interest?  I have been getting these phone calls for a few months and I am completely fed up.  I'm going to look into seeing if I can block these calls on my unlisted phone number that I have had for the last 28 years.  If I can't block them, I will change my number.  Oh, and now I'm getting my nieces' mail.

I've been harrassed over and over by these people for many, many years.  Seems they like to buy 'old debt' from creditors.  After many years, they come back at you for debts long settled but figure you probably won't be able to come up of proof of payment.  I presented proof of payment but they have totally ignored it.  Over the years, they've called my brother and told him he was going to jail for obstructing judgement.  A man went off on me on the phone when I told him I'd forwarded this to the Maryland Attorney General's office.  He called me every name in the book and suggested that a low life scum bucket like me should get credit to buy a gun and blow my [***] brains out of my head.  I'd blocked their numbers well over a year ago but now suddenly...I'm getting calls again. :P  This should just be so illegal and the phone companies should be much more helpful in shutting down these scammers.

Cool, I'm glad I finally looked this number up on here. It has called my cell phone at least 3 times in the past 2 week and always leaves the same voicemail, for someone I don't even know. The next time they called I was going to let them know, but I decided to look them up instead.

Glad I did. They sound like real winners.

I received a call from David Lewiston, also with a case number, for a bounced check from 5 years ago.  I told them that I had not bounced a check, the amount was debited from my bank account 5 years ago and I had been contacted two years ago by another collection agency over the same thing and had provided them with documentation and never heard back.  An American Asset Recovery person told me since I did not get a letter of satisfaction they believed the debt was legitimate.  I told her that they obviously bought a bad debt and the first collection agency had told me that the original creditor had gone out of business and that because they kept such terrible records the receiver was having them contact everyone in hopes of recovering some money for the creditors.  They were supposed to send me an email but to date I haven't heard anything.  Plan on sending a "debt validation" letter that I found on creditinfocenter.com.  I am retired now and have all the time in the world to screw around with this company as I don't owe them any money.  But does anyone have any idea how to stop successive collection agencies from trying to collect on the same debt every couple of years?  This is the second time that this has happened to me.
