Does anyone have their address? I'm getting one call a day for the wrong person. They keep telling me it was removed, but they keep calling anyway.

Got a call from them saying I owed on a credit card debt from 6 years ago and if I didn't pay I would go to jail. I called my lawyer and was informed that only the original company can take you to civil court not criminal. These people called from San Antonio Texas but sent me an email from Washington, D.C.

I have been receiving these call for a couple of years. The most recent was today. The phone number is 855-820-4241 with David Lewiston being the name given. They claim I have an outstanding pay day loan. This isn't possible because I haven't received one and just to be sure I asked my bank to go through my account for the time frame I was given, since they weren't able to give me a specific date of the loan. I have reported the company to the BBB and FTC.

I got a call from this no. 855-820-4241 claiming he's from American Asset recovery and gave me a claim no. I don't know how they got my cell no. bec. it's unlisted and confidential. He's claiming that the first wife of my ex (who passed away 2006) owes money and I am named as primary person of interest. I was the 2nd wife and my ex passed away married to a 3rd wife. Told him I have nothing to do w/ her. This is very strange. Who are these people?? Somebody need to report these scammers and hold them accountable. Thanks.

I did an internet search after one of the callers told me that the name of the company was Asset Recovery Group (which is different than the American Asset Recovery that they told me at the beginning of the conversation).  The address that I got was 3718 South Mission Parkway, Aurora, Colorado 80013-2645.  Not sure if this is really the same company, but I sent a registered letter to them to validate the debt or quit calling me.

Just checked my messages and had a call for my brother.  How they think my number is his is beyond me.  "Melissa Shaw" said that if he didn't call back in 24 hours it would be "a direct refusal" and chares will be filed, "good luck".  Seriously, who ends a call for a debt with good luck?  I also was given a "claim number".  Really glad I looked this up!

I have received messages from this company with a claim number that I am to reference when I call back.  The message is an automated recording where my name and claim number are inserted by what sounds like a robo caller.  I have ignored them.  Then I got a letter in the mail from them stating that I owe a debt that their office has purchased and if I don't send payment in full within 10 days they will take legal action against me and I will be charged court and attorney fees.  The letter also states that I can call to setup a payment arrangement.  What peaked my interest was that it says the original debtor is Moneymore Internet.  I have no clue who or what that is.  The letter also states "We respectfully demand that you not contact the former creditor for any reason, instead please direct all future contact to your new creditor".  That threw up a big red flag for me.  If I owe someone of course I am going to contact the original creditor to see exactly what it is they claim I owe.  I plan on filing complaints with BBB, FTC, as well as my states attorney general.

The address that is on the letter is: American Asset Recovery, 1776 I Street NW, 9th Floor, Washington, DC 20006.  Their numbers are phone: 1-855-820-4241 and fax: 1-614-543-1318.  E-mail is: americanassetrec@gmail.com

OMG!!! I received the exact same letter. I called the Toll Free # and this guy answered, couldn't understand him at first because he was so loud. He threatened that my vehicle would be repossessed and that he was sending a police officer out to arrest me. I told him, this was a scam, because I've never owed anything to Moneymore Internet. He still kept making threats...said it was from August 2008...he kept talking over me making legal threats over and over. He had the last 4 of my SSN, the type of vehicle I own, the name of my bank, and the place where I worked back then. I told him that I was going to call my bank and he said that even if it showed that the amount was paid on my bank statement that it wouldn't proove anything...I will still owe them. Hahahaha what a load of crap!!! Also, this guy David Lewiston called me from the American Asset Recovery (303)731-8734 from Aurora, CO and gave the Toll Free #(855)820-4241.

I got the same letter referencing Money and More; I've done some digging and it's an internet payday loan that went bankrupt a few years ago.  The debt has been sold several times, and probably will be again.  I got the 855 number to call back, and called the Aurora 303 number as well.  I filed a complaint with the Colorado Attorney General's office and received a letter from them today; it states that they have received numerous complaints about this company; they issued a cease and desist advisory for this company but all of their correspondence has been returned to them as undeliverable.  The CO AG's office believes that this is a "phantom debt collector" that operates in a foreign country and uses modern technology to mask their fraudulent activities with a local telephone number even though they are operating outside the US.  They also stated that based on the complaint, this entity "displayed the signs and appearance of a fictitious or fraudulent collection agency".  I am urging everyone to file a complaint with the appropriate agencies and keep copies of everything; do not give out or confirm any personal information.  Send them a "debt validation request"  (see comment above) and send it registered mail that they have to sign for.  I am doing more research on this group; I'm getting pretty sick of these calls and plan on screwing around with them.  No legitimate debt collector can discuss a debt with someone other than the person that owes the debt.  If someone is calling you about someone else's debt, and you tell them it's not yours, they are supposed to stop talking to you and delete your number!

These scammers called and left a claim # and said to call them back. Well I did and it's obvious they are scammers because they want to do all the talking and not listen to anything that you have to say. Don't know how they got my # or last 4 ignites of my S.S.#. They are clearly "phishing". Were very, very rude until I told them, " by the way, this call is being recorded".  They hung up then!

I had the same call from David as well, and when I called back I heard music right off the bat and then it hung up, called back agian so I could get to the bottom of whatever was going on, the guy that answered would not let me speak with david, told me that I owed for a pay day loan 7 years ago, and NSF fees, I never took a loan out, he proceeded to go over my infor, I asked him how he got my information, he said from his client, and would not give me the Client name. I ask for verification of the debt that was due, he had no cluse what i was tlaking about, had an incorrect address for me, when i corected him on that, he never asked for my actual address, if I was trying to collect a debt I would want to right adress you would think. I really think something is fishy about it, never gave him any of my information and he proceded to tell me they would email me the statement, neer got it. I told him my LAWYER advised me of this, the conversation was cut short after that.

This David Lewiston is constantly harrassing me by calling me about a dept over 12 years that had been resolved. They have harrassed Managers on my job by leaving threatening messages. I called for David but was unable to get him so I talked to somebody named Janelle Judge! I told this Judge person what was happening and she agreed it wasn't right. All I want is for the calls to stop and expecially stop calling Managers at this place of business.

I just received a call from David also, number coming in was 516-992-6196...call back was 855-820-4241. I called back both numbers and told them they were scam artists, and that my attorney was informed. The moronic lady told me have a nice day and hung up. I blocked both numbers.

I have gotten calls from them also. But it came from someone here in Orlando, Fl. They are going back from when I owed Best Buy. Yes I do owe, but paying is a different story right now. They sounded like the real deal because they gave me a Docket number. I did let them debit my checking account one time. And they sent me a letter to sign and return it back authorizing them to debit my account once a month, until my bill is paid in full. After reading all these comments about them, I think I'm going to my bank and see if I can close my account and re-open a different one.

Here is the address that I have:
