Just rec'd call from this number...now prerecorded message  from supposed CRA.. to either myself or attorney to call them back at this number as I have debt owing.

Is this a fraudulent message?  I don't intend to respond unless contacted by email.

I received a recorded message yesterday. But the whole message did not come through. Machine to machine. It would be a good idea to start your message delayed a bit so people can get the entire message and repeat who you are at the end. (Just a suggestion!) I called today and got through but the fellow on the other end seems to have disappeared. (I waited about twenty minutes) Please let me know what this is about. If I owe you money, I will pay it. I'm not a delinquent just very sloppy with my mail and bills. If you call me again, please let my machine get the whole message or email me back at the address.

I called cra and they said its a scam

I received a call today from them. I believe it to be a scam since there is 4 of us living here and the caller did not say a specific name or what not, I'm sure if it were the government we would be notified through mail and then a phone call that isn't automated.

Recorded message very hard to understand. Poor quality, it kept breaking up. Lady's voice about money owing. "Tell your attorney to phone me" was the the final instruction.

There was a broken message on my answering machine and after listening so many times I got the number 8558818144 to call for the lawsuit against us and if I or my attorney don't call I will be responsible fo all the expenses! My phone shows the caller being the same number but when I call it can't be reached! Unbelievable! Very scary!

This is another SCAM perpetrated by the scumbags in India preying on gullible people and the call should not be returned nor should anyone think for a moment that it might have merit.  The robot voice speaking in awkward English with a choppy connection refers to a "lawsuit filed against your name for tax fraud by the federal tax" and "you're the only one to face all the legal consequences if you don't call us immediately", but it's totally 1000% bogus.  Ignore it completely.  Anyone who ever has a tax concern should call the CRA or the IRS directly at their numbers on their websites, never ever someone who calls you first with a threatening message like this one.

Is a scam my brother almost had 3500 of our grandma's money stolen then I searched the number and told him it was a scam. He straight up asked them if they were scamming and they hung up. [***] conniving Indians bast Ardsley get a funding job.

This appears to be an entirely recorded message designed to entice recipients to make an apparently "toll free" return call to an overseas number, probably in Jamaica!     Sadly the message is entirely mechanical so my abusive and violently expressive response went into thin air.
However as a violent, ancient and aggressive old bugger I wish these irritating swine the worst of luck!

Yeah,,,this is a scam....CRA would never approach the public in such a manner.    The call can be alarming at first but just ignore it.
